13StandH6965upH6965!Consecrateקַדֵּ֣שׁka.DeshH6942the peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971and sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֖ve.'a.mar.TaH559, ‘Consecrateהִתְקַדְּשׁ֣וּhit.ka.de.ShuH6942yourselves for tomorrowלְמָחָ֑רle.ma.CharH4279,becauseכִּ֣יkiH3588the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478,has saidאָמַ֨ר'a.MarH559thisכֹה֩khohH3541: “There are thingsחֵ֤רֶםChe.remH2764designatedH2764forH2764destructionH2764in your midstבְּקִרְבְּךָ֙be.kir.be.ChaH7130,Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478.You cannotלֹ֣א תוּכַ֗לlo' tu.KhalH3201 H3808standH6965againstלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440your enemiesH340untilעַד־'ad-H5704you have removedהֲסִירְכֶ֥םha.sir.KhemH5493the designatedH2764thingsהַחֵ֖רֶםha.Che.remH2764from your midstמִֽקִּרְבְּכֶֽם׃Mi.kir.be.KhemH7130.”

14So in the morningבַּבֹּ֖קֶרba.Bo.kerH1242you shall comeH7126forwardH7126by your tribesלְשִׁבְטֵיכֶ֑םle.shiv.tei.KhemH7626.And it shall be that the tribeהַשֵּׁבֶט֩ha.she.VetH7626whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068selectsH3920byH3920lotH3920shall comeH7126forwardH7126by familiesלַמִּשְׁפָּח֗וֹתla.mish.pa.ChotH4940,and the familyוְהַמִּשְׁפָּחָ֞הve.ha.mish.pa.ChahH4940whichאֲשֶֽׁר־'a.Sher-H834the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068selectsH3920shall comeH7126forwardH7126by householdsלַבָּתִּ֔יםla.ba.TimH1004,and the householdוְהַבַּ֙יִת֙ve.ha.Ba.yitH1004whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068selectsH3920shall comeH7126forwardH7126manH1397by manH1397.

15Andit shall be that the one who is selectedהַנִּלְכָּ֣דha.nil.KadH3920with the thingsבַּחֵ֔רֶםba.Che.remH2764designatedH2764forH2764destructionH2764shall be burnedיִשָּׂרֵ֣ףyi.sa.RefH8313with fireבָּאֵ֔שׁba.'EshH784,he and allכָּל־kol-H3605that belongs to him, becauseכִּ֤יkiH3588he has violatedעָבַר֙'a.VarH5674the covenantבְּרִ֣יתbe.RitH1285of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,and becauseוְכִֽי־ve.khi-H3588hehas committedעָשָׂ֥ה'a.SahH6213a disgracefulנְבָלָ֖הne.va.LahH5039thingH5039in Israelבְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃be.Yis.ra.'ElH3478.’”

16So Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֙עַ֙ye.ho.Shu.a'H3091gotH7925upH7925earlyוַיַּשְׁכֵּ֤םvai.yash.KemH7925in the morningבַּבֹּ֔קֶרba.Bo.kerH1242and broughtH7126Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478forwardH7126bytribesלִשְׁבָטָ֑יוlish.va.TavH7626,and the tribeשֵׁ֥בֶטShe.vetH7626of Judahיְהוּדָֽה׃ye.hu.DahH3063was selectedוַיִּלָּכֵ֖דvai.yi.la.KhedH3920.

17So he broughtH7126the familyמִשְׁפַּ֣חַתmish.Pa.chatH4940of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063forwardH7126,and he selectedוַיִּלְכֹּ֕דvai.yil.KodH3920the familyמִשְׁפַּ֣חַתmish.Pa.chatH4940of the Zerahitesהַזַּרְחִ֑יha.zar.ChiH2227;then he broughtH7126the familyמִשְׁפַּ֤חַתmish.Pa.chatH4940of the Zerahitesהַזַּרְחִי֙ha.zar.ChiH2227forwardH7126manH1397by manH1397,and Zabdiזַבְדִּֽי׃zav.DiH2067was selectedוַיִּלָּכֵ֖דvai.yi.la.KhedH3920.

18And he broughtH7126his householdבֵּית֖וֹbei.ToH1004forwardH7126manH1397by manH1397; andAchanעָכָ֞ן'a.KhanH5912,sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Carmiכַּרְמִ֧יkar.MiH3756,sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Zabdiזַבְדִּ֛יzav.DiH2067,sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Zerahזֶ֖רַחZe.rachH2226,from the tribeלְמַטֵּ֥הle.ma.TehH4294of Judahיְהוּדָֽה׃ye.hu.DahH3063,was selectedוַיִּלָּכֵ֗דvai.yi.la.KhedH3920.

19Then Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֜עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Achanעָכָ֗ן'a.KhanH5912, “My sonבְּנִי֙be.NiH1121,I imploreנָ֣אna'H4994you,giveשִֽׂים־sim-H7760gloryכָב֗וֹדkha.VodH3519to the Lordלַֽיהוָ֛הla.Yah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֥י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478,and giveוְתֶן־ve.ten-H5414praiseתוֹדָ֑הto.DahH8426to Him; and tellוְהַגֶּד־ve.ha.ged-H5046me nowנָ֥אna'H4994whatמֶ֣הmehH4100you have doneעָשִׂ֔יתָ'a.Si.taH6213.Do not hideתְּכַחֵ֖דte.kha.ChedH3582it from me.”

20So Achanעָכָ֛ן'a.KhanH5912answeredוַיַּ֧עַןvai.Ya.'anH6030Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091and saidוַיֹּאמַ֑רvai.yo.MarH559, “Trulyאָמְנָ֗ה'a.me.NahH546,I have sinnedחָטָ֙אתִי֙cha.Ta.tiH2398against the Lordלַֽיהוָה֙la.Yah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478, andthisH2088is whatH2088I didעָשִֽׂיתִי׃'a.Si.tiH6213:

21when I sawוָאֵ֣רֶאva.'er.'eh'H7200among the spoilsבַשָּׁלָ֡לva.sha.LalH7998a beautifulטוֹבָ֜הto.VahH2896robeאַדֶּ֣רֶת'a.De.retH155from Shinarשִׁנְעָר֩shin.'ArH8152,two hundredוּמָאתַ֧יִםu.ma.Ta.yimH3967shekelsשְׁקָלִ֣יםshe.ka.LimH8255of silverכֶּ֗סֶףKe.sefH3701,and a barוּלְשׁ֨וֹןu.le.ShonH3956of goldזָהָ֤בza.HavH2091fiftyחֲמִשִּׁ֤יםcha.mi.ShimH2572shekelsשְׁקָלִים֙she.ka.LimH8255in weightמִשְׁקָל֔וֹmish.ka.LoH4948, then Iwantedוָֽאֶחְמְדֵ֖םva.'ech.me.DemH2530them and tookוָֽאֶקָּחֵ֑םva.'e.ka.ChemH3947them; and beholdוְהִנָּ֨םve.hi.NamH2009,they are hiddenטְמוּנִ֥יםte.mu.NimH2934in the groundבָּאָ֛רֶץba.'A.retzH776insideבְּת֥וֹךְbe.TokhH8432my tentהָאָֽהֳלִ֖יha.'o.ho.LiH168,with the silverוְהַכֶּ֥סֶףve.ha.Ke.sefH3701underneathתַּחְתֶּֽיהָ׃tach.Tei.haH8478.”

22So Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֙עַ֙ye.ho.Shu.a'H3091sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֤חvai.yish.LachH7971messengersמַלְאָכִ֔יםmal.'a.KhimH4397,and they ranוַיָּרֻ֖צוּvai.ya.Ru.tzuH7323to the tentהָאֹ֑הֱלָהha.'O.he.lahH168;and beholdוְהִנֵּ֧הve.hi.NehH2009,it was hiddenטְמוּנָ֛הte.mu.NahH2934in his tentבְּאָהֳל֖וֹbe.'o.ho.LoH168with the silverוְהַכֶּ֥סֶףve.ha.Ke.sefH3701underneathתַּחְתֶּֽיהָ׃tach.Tei.haH8478it.

23So they tookוַיִּקָּחוּם֙vai.yi.ka.ChumH3947them from insideמִתּ֣וֹךְmi.TokhH8432the tentהָאֹ֔הֶלha.'O.helH168and broughtוַיְבִאוּם֙vay.vi.'UmH935them to Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091and to allכָּל־kol-H3605the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478; and theylaidH3332them outH3332beforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

24Then Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֣עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091,and allכָּל־kol-H3605Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478with him, tookוַיִּקַּ֣חvai.yi.KachH3947Achanעָכָ֣ן'a.KhanH5912the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Zerahזֶ֡רַחZe.rachH2226,the silverהַכֶּ֣סֶףha.Ke.sefH3701,the robeהָאַדֶּ֣רֶתha.'a.De.retH155,the barלְשׁ֣וֹןle.ShonH3956of goldהַזָּהָ֡בha.za.HavH2091,his sonsבָּנָ֡יוba.NavH1121,his daughtersבְּנֹתָ֡יוbe.no.TavH1323, hisoxenשׁוֹרוֹ֩sho.RoH7794,his donkeysחֲמֹר֨וֹcha.mo.RoH2543,his sheepצֹאנ֤וֹtzo.NoH6629,his tentאָהֳלוֹ֙'o.ho.LoH168,and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605that belonged to him; and they broughtH5927them upH5927tothe Valleyעֵ֥מֶק'E.mekH6010ofAchorעָכֽוֹר׃a.KhorH5911.
