5It shall be that when they makeH4900aH4900longH4900blastH4900with the ram’sהַיּוֹבֵ֗לhai.yo.VelH3104hornבְּקֶ֣רֶןbe.Ke.renH7161,and when you hearכְּשָׁמְעֲכֶם֙ke.sha.me.'a.khemH8085the soundק֣וֹלKolH6963of the trumpetהַשּׁוֹפָ֔רha.sho.FarH7782,allכָל־khol-H3605the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971shall shoutיָרִ֥יעוּya.Ri.'uH7321with a greatגְדוֹלָ֑הge.do.LahH1419shoutתְּרוּעָ֣הte.ru.'AhH8643;and the wallחוֹמַ֤תcho.MatH2346of the cityהָעִיר֙ha.'IrH5892will fallוְנָ֨פְלָ֜הve.Na.fe.LahH5307downH5307flatתַּחְתֶּ֔יהָtach.Tei.haH8478,and the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971shall goוְעָל֥וּve.'a.LuH5927upH5927,everyoneאִ֥ישׁ'ishH376straightH5048aheadH5048.”
6So Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֤עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091the sonבִּן־bin-H1121of Nunנוּן֙nunH5126calledוַיִּקְרָ֞אvai.yik.Ra'H7121the priestsהַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔יםha.Ko.ha.NimH3548and saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to them, “TakeH5375upH5375the arkאֲר֣וֹן'a.RonH727of the covenantהַבְּרִ֑יתha.be.RitH1285,and have sevenוְשִׁבְעָ֣הve.shiv.'AhH7651priestsכֹֽהֲנִ֗יםkho.ha.NimH3548carryH5375sevenשִׁבְעָ֤הshiv.'AhH7651trumpetsשֽׁוֹפְרוֹת֙shof.rOtH7782of rams’יוֹבְלִ֔יםyov.LimH3104hornsH3104in frontלִפְנֵ֖יlif.NeiH6440of the arkאֲר֥וֹן'a.RonH727of the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.”
7Thenhe saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.yo.me.ruH559to the peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971, “GoH5674forwardH5674and marchH5437aroundH5437the cityהָעִ֑ירha.'IrH5892,and the armedוְהֶ֣חָל֔וּץve.He.cha.LutzH2502menH2502shall goH5674onH5674aheadלִפְנֵ֖יlif.NeiH6440of the arkאֲר֥וֹן'a.RonH727of the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.”

9And the armedוְהֶחָל֣וּץve.he.cha.LutzH2502menH2502wentהֹלֵ֔ךְho.LekhH1980aheadלִפְנֵי֙lif.NeiH6440of the priestsהַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔יםha.Ko.ha.NimH3548who blewתֹּקְעֵ֖יta.ke.'uH8628the trumpetsהַשּֽׁוֹפָר֑וֹתha.sho.fa.RotH7782, andthe rearH622guardH622cameהֹלֵךְ֙ho.leKhH1980afterאַחֲרֵ֣י'a.cha.ReiH310the arkהָאָר֔וֹןha.'a.RonH727,while they continuedהָל֖וֹךְha.LokhH1980to blowוְתָק֥וֹעַve.ta.Ko.a'H8628the trumpetsבַּשּׁוֹפָרֽוֹת׃ba.sho.fa.RotH7782.
10But Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֜עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091commandedצִוָּ֨הtzi.VahH6680the peopleהָעָם֩ha.'AmH5971,sayingלֵאמֹ֗רle.MorH559, “You shall not shoutתָרִ֙יעוּ֙ta.Ri.'uH7321norH3808let your voiceקוֹלְכֶ֔םkol.KhemH6963be heardתַשְׁמִ֣יעוּtash.Mi.'uH8085,norH3808let a wordדָּבָ֑רda.VarH1697proceedיֵצֵ֥אye.Tze'H3318from your mouthמִפִּיכֶ֖םmi.pi.KhemH6310,untilעַ֠ד'adH5704the dayי֣וֹםYomH3117I tellאָמְרִ֧י'a.me.RiH559you, ‘Shoutהָרִ֖יעוּha.Ri.'uH7321!’Then you shall shoutוַהֲרִיעֹתֶֽם׃va.ha.ri.'o.TemH7321!”
11So he had the arkאֲרוֹן־'a.ron-H727of the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068takenH5437aroundH5437the cityהָעִ֔ירha.'IrH5892,circlingהַקֵּ֖ףha.KefH5362itonceפַּ֣עַם אֶחָ֑תPa.'am 'e.ChatH259H6471;then they cameוַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙vai.ya.Vo.'uH935into the campהַֽמַּחֲנֶ֔הha.ma.cha.NehH4264and spentH3885theH3885nightH3885in the campבַּֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃ פBa.ma.cha.NehH4264.
12Now Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091gotH7925upH7925earlyוַיַּשְׁכֵּ֥םvai.yash.KemH7925in the morningבַּבֹּ֑קֶרba.Bo.kerH1242,and the priestsהַכֹּהֲנִ֖יםha.ko.ha.NimH3548tookH5375upH5375the arkאֲר֥וֹן'a.RonH727of the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

17But the cityהָעִ֥ירha.'IrH5892shall bedesignatedH2764forH2764destructionH2764,it and everythingוְכָל־ve.kholH3605that is in it belongs to the Lordלַֽיהוָ֑הla.Yah.wehH3068;onlyH7534Rahabרָחָ֨בra.ChavH7343the prostituteהַזּוֹנָ֜הha.zo.NahH2181and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605whoH834are with her in the houseבַּבַּ֔יִתba.Ba.yitH1004shall liveתִּֽחְיֶ֗הtich.YehH2421,becauseכִּ֣יkiH3588she hidהֶחְבְּאַ֔תָהhech.be.'A.tahH2244the messengersהַמַּלְאָכִ֖יםha.mal.'a.KhimH4397whomH834we sentשָׁלָֽחְנוּ׃sha.La.che.nuH7971.
18But as for you, onlyH7534keepשִׁמְר֣וּshim.RuH8104yourselves from the thingsH2764designatedH2764forH2764destructionH2764,soH6435thatH6435you do notH6435covetH2530them andtakeוּלְקַחְתֶּ֣םu.le.kach.TemH3947someH4480of the designatedH2764thingsH2764,and turnוְשַׂמְתֶּ֞םve.sam.TemH7760the campמַחֲנֵ֤הma.cha.NehH4264of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478into somethingH2764designatedH2764forH2764destructionH2764and bringH5916disasterH5916onH5916it.
19But allוְכֹ֣ל׀ve.KholH3605the silverכֶּ֣סֶףKe.sefH3701and goldוְזָהָ֗בve.za.HavH2091,and articlesוּכְלֵ֤יu.khe.LeiH3627of bronzeנְחֹ֙שֶׁת֙ne.Cho.shetH5178and ironוּבַרְזֶ֔לu.var.ZelH1270are holyקֹ֥דֶשׁKo.deshH6944to the Lordלַֽיהוָ֑הla.Yah.wehH3068;they shall goיָבֽוֹא׃ya.Vo'H935into the treasuryאוֹצַ֥ר'o.TzarH214of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068.”
20So the peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971shoutedוַיָּ֣רַעvai.Ya.ra'H7321, andthe priests blewוַֽיִּתְקְע֖וּvai.yit.ke.'UH8628the trumpetsבַּשֹּֽׁפָר֑וֹתba.sho.fa.RotH7782;and when the peopleהָעָ֜םha.'AmH5971heardכִשְׁמֹ֨עַkhish.Mo.a'H8085the soundק֣וֹלKolH6963of the trumpetהַשּׁוֹפָ֗רha.sho.FarH7782,the peopleהָעָם֙ha.'AmH5971shoutedוַיָּרִ֤יעוּvai.ya.Ri.'uH7321with a greatגְדוֹלָ֔הge.do.LahH1419shoutתְּרוּעָ֣הte.ru.'AhH8643, and thewallהַֽחוֹמָ֜הha.cho.MahH2346fellH5307downH5307flatתַּחְתֶּ֗יהָtach.Tei.haH8478,so that the peopleהָעָ֤םha.'AmH5971wentH5927upH5927into the cityהָעִ֙ירָה֙ha.'I.rahH5892,everyoneאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376straightH5048aheadH5048,and they tookוַֽיִּלְכְּד֖וּvai.yil.ke.DuH3920the cityהָעִֽיר׃ha.'IrH5892.
21TheyutterlyH2763destroyedוַֽיַּחֲרִ֙ימוּ֙vai.ya.cha.Ri.muH2763everythingכָּל־kol-H3605in the cityבָּעִ֔ירba.'IrH5892,bothH4480H5704manמֵאִישׁ֙me.'IshH376and womanאִשָּׁ֔ה'i.ShahH802,youngמִנַּ֖עַרmi.Na.'arH5288and oldזָקֵ֑ןza.KenH2205,and oxשׁ֥וֹרShorH7794,sheepוָשֶׂ֛הva.SehH7716,and donkeyוַחֲמ֖וֹרva.cha.MorH2543,with the edgeלְפִי־le.fi-H6310of the swordחָֽרֶב׃Cha.revH2719.
22And Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091saidאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559to the twoוְלִשְׁנַ֨יִםve.lish.Na.yimH8147menH376who had spiedH7270outH7270the landהָאָ֙רֶץ֙ha.'A.retzH776, “Goבֹּ֖אוּBo.'uH935into the prostitute’sהַזּוֹנָ֑הha.zo.NahH2181houseבֵּית־beit-H1004and bringוְהוֹצִ֨יאוּve.ho.Tzi.'uH3318the womanH802and allכָּל־kol-H3605she has outH3318of thereמִשָּׁ֤םmi.ShamH8033,justH3512asH3512you have swornנִשְׁבַּעְתֶּ֖םnish.ba'.TemH7650to her.”
23So the youngהַנְּעָרִ֣יםha.ne.'a.RimH5288menH5288who were spiesהַֽמְרַגְּלִ֗יםham.ra.ge.LimH7270wentH935inH935andbroughtH3318outH3318Rahabרָ֠חָבra.choH7343,her fatherאָבִ֨יהָ'a.Vi.haH1,her motherאִמָּ֤הּ'i.MahH517,her brothersאַחֶ֙יהָ֙'a.Chei.haH251,and allכָּל־kol-H3605she had; they also broughtH3318outH3318allכָּל־kol-H3605her relativesמִשְׁפְּחוֹתֶ֖יהָmish.pe.cho.Tei.haH4940,and placedוַיַּ֨נִּיח֔וּםvai.Ya.ni.ChumH5117them outsideמִח֖וּץmi.ChutzH4480H2351the campלְמַחֲנֵ֥הle.ma.cha.NehH4264of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.
24Thenthey burnedשָׂרְפ֥וּsa.re.FuH8313the cityוְהָעִ֛ירve.ha.'IrH5892with fireבָאֵ֖שׁva.'EshH784,and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605that was in it. 25However,Rahabרָחָ֣בra.ChavH7343the prostituteהַ֠זּוֹנָהHa.zo.nahH2181and her father’sאָבִ֤יהָ'a.Vi.haH1householdבֵּ֨יתbeitH1004and allכָּל־kol-H3605she had, Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091sparedהֶחֱיָ֣הhe.che.YahH2421;and she has livedוַתֵּ֙שֶׁב֙va.Te.shevH3427in the midstבְּקֶ֣רֶבbe.Ke.revH7130of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478to thisהַזֶּ֑הha.ZehH2088dayהַיּ֣וֹםhai.YomH3117,becauseכִּ֤יkiH3588she hidהֶחְבִּ֙יאָה֙hech.Bi.'ahH2244the messengersהַמַּלְאָכִ֔יםha.mal.'a.KhimH4397whomH834Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091sentשָׁלַ֥חsha.LachH7971to spyלְרַגֵּ֥לle.ra.GelH7270outH7270Jerichoיְרִיחֽוֹ׃ פye.ri.ChoH3405.
26Then Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091made them takeH7650anH7650oathוַיַּשְׁבַּ֣עvai.yash.Ba'H7650at that timeבָּעֵ֥תba.'EtH6256,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559, “Cursedאָר֨וּר'a.RurH779beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068is the manהָאִ֜ישׁha.'IshH376whoאֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834risesH6965upH6965and buildsוּבָנָ֞הu.va.NahH1129thisH2088cityהָעִ֤ירha.'IrH5892Jerichoיְרִיח֔וֹye.ri.ChoH3405; with the loss ofhis firstbornבִּבְכֹר֣וֹbiv.kho.RoH1060he will layH3245its foundationH3245, and with the loss ofhis youngestוּבִצְעִיר֖וֹu.vitz.'i.RoH6810sonH6810he will setיַצִּ֥יבya.TzivH5324upH5324its gatesדְּלָתֶֽיהָ׃de.la.Tei.haH1817.”
27Sothe Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068was with Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֑עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091, and hisfameשָׁמְע֖וֹsha.me.'OH8089was in allבְּכָל־be.kholH3605the landהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776.
