4He saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Blessedבָּר֤וּךְba.RukhH1288be the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,whoאֲשֶׁר֙'a.SherH834spokeדִּבֶּ֣רdi.BerH1696with His mouthבְּפִ֔יוbe.FivH6310to my fatherאָבִ֑י'a.ViH1Davidדָּוִ֣ידda.VidH1732,and fulfilledמִלֵּ֖אmi.Le'H4390itwith His handsוּבְיָדָ֥יוu.ve.ya.DavH3027,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

5‘Sinceמִן־min-H4480the dayהַיּ֗וֹםhai.YomH3117that I broughtהוֹצֵ֣אתִיho.Tze.tiH3318My peopleעַמִּי֮'a.MiH5971from the landמֵאֶ֣רֶץme.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרַיִם֒mitz.ra.YimH4714,I did not chooseבָחַ֣רְתִּֽיva.Char.tiH977a cityבְעִ֗ירve.'IrH5892out of allמִכֹּל֙mi.KolH3605the tribesשִׁבְטֵ֣יshiv.TeiH7626of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478in whichto buildלִבְנ֣וֹתliv.NotH1129a houseבַּ֔יִתBa.yitH1004,so that My nameשְׁמִ֖יshe.MiH8034might be thereשָׁ֑םShamH8033,norH3808did I chooseבָחַ֣רְתִּֽיva.Char.tiH977a manבְאִ֔ישׁve.'IshH376to be theleaderנָגִ֖ידna.GidH5057overעַל־'al-H5921My peopleעַמִּ֥י'a.MiH5971Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478;

6butI have chosenוָאֶבְחַר֙va.'ev.CharH977Jerusalemבִּיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔םbi.Ru.sha.LimH3389so that My nameשְׁמִ֖יshe.MiH8034might be thereשָׁ֑םShamH8033, and Ihave chosenוָאֶבְחַ֣רva.'ev.CharH977Davidבְּדָוִ֔ידbe.da.VidH1732to be overעַל־'al-H5921My peopleעַמִּ֥י'a.MiH5971Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.’

7Now it wasin the heartלְבַ֖בle.VavH3824of my fatherאָבִ֑י'a.ViH1Davidדָּוִ֣ידda.VidH1732to buildלִבְנ֣וֹתliv.NotH1129a houseבַּ֔יִתBa.yitH1004for the nameלְשֵׁ֥םle.ShemH8034of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֥י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.

8But the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to my fatherאָבִ֔י'a.ViH1Davidדָּוִ֣ידda.VidH1732, ‘Becauseיַ֗עַן אֲשֶׁ֤רYa.'an 'a.SherH3282 H834it wasin your heartלְבָ֣בְךָ֔le.Va.ve.khaH3824to buildלִבְנ֥וֹתliv.NotH1129a houseבַּ֖יִתBa.yitH1004for My nameלִשְׁמִ֑יlish.MiH8034,you didH2895wellהֱֽטִיב֔וֹתָheti.Vo.taH2895that it wasin your heartלְבָבֶֽךָ׃le.va.Ve.khaH3824.

9NeverthelessH7534you shall not buildתִבְנֶ֖הtiv.NehH1129the houseהַבָּ֑יִתha.Ba.yitH1004,but your sonבִנְךָ֙vin.KhaH1121whowill be bornהַיּוֹצֵ֣א מֵֽחֲלָצֶ֔יךָhai.yo.Tze' me.cha.la.Tzei.khaH3318 H2504to you, he shall buildיִבְנֶ֥הyiv.NehH1129the houseהַבַּ֖יִתha.Ba.yitH1004for My nameלִשְׁמִֽי׃lish.MiH8034.’

10Now the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068has fulfilledוַיָּ֣קֶםvai.Ya.kemH6965His wordדְּבָר֖וֹde.va.RoH1697whichH834He spokeדִּבֵּ֑רdi.BerH1696;for I have risenוָאָק֡וּםva.'a.KumH6965inH8478placeתַּחַת֩ta.ChatH8478ofH8478my fatherאָבִ֜י'a.ViH1Davidדָּוִ֨ידda.VidH1732and sitוָאֵשֵׁ֣ב׀va.'e.ShevH3427on the throneכִּסֵּ֣אki.Se'H3678of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478,as the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068promisedדִּבֶּ֣רdi.BerH1696,and have builtוָאֶבְנֶ֣הva.'ev.NehH1129the houseהַבַּ֔יִתha.Ba.yitH1004for the nameלְשֵׁ֥םle.ShemH8034of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֥י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.

11ThereH8033I have placedוָאָשִׂ֥יםva.'a.SimH7760the arkהָ֣אָר֔וֹןha.'a.RonH727in whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834is the covenantבְּרִ֣יתbe.RitH1285of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834He madeכָּרַ֖תka.RatH3772with the sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.”

12Then he stoodוַֽיַּעֲמֹ֗דvai.ya.'a.ModH5975beforeלִפְנֵי֙lif.NeiH6440the altarמִזְבַּ֣חmiz.BachH4196of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068in the presenceנֶ֖גֶדNe.gedH5048of allכָּל־kol-H3605the assemblyקְהַ֣לke.HalH6951of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478and spreadוַיִּפְרֹ֖שׂvai.yif.RosH6566outH6566his handsכַּפָּֽיו׃ka.PavH3709.

13For Solomonשְׁלֹמֹ֜הshe.lo.MohH8010had madeעָשָׂ֨ה'a.SahH6213a bronzeנְחֹ֗שֶׁתne.Cho.shetH5178platformכִּיּ֣וֹרki.YorH3595,fiveחָמֵ֨שׁcha.MeshH2568cubitsאַמּ֜וֹת'a.MotH520longאָרְכּ֗וֹ'a.re.KoH753,fiveוְחָמֵ֤שׁve.cha.MeshH2568cubitsאַמּוֹת֙'a.mOtH520wideרָחְבּ֔וֹra.che.BoH7341,and threeשָׁל֖וֹשׁsha.Lo.oshH7969cubitsוְאַמּ֥וֹתve.'a.MotH520highקוֹמָת֑וֹko.ma.ToH6967,and had setוַֽיִּתְּנֵהוּ֮vai.yi.te.ne.HuH5414it in the midstבְּת֣וֹךְbe.TokhH8432of the courtyardהָעֲזָרָה֒ha.'a.za.RahH5835;and he stoodוַיַּעֲמֹ֣דvai.ya.'a.ModH5975on it,kneltוַיִּבְרַ֤ךְvai.yiv.RakhH1288on his kneesבִּרְכָּיו֙bir.KavH1290in the presenceנֶ֚גֶדNe.gedH5048of allכָּל־kol-H3605the assemblyקְהַ֣לke.HalH6951of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478and spreadוַיִּפְרֹ֥שׂvai.yif.RosH6566outH6566his handsכַּפָּ֖יוka.PavH3709toward heavenהַשָּׁמָֽיְמָה׃ha.sha.Ma.ye.mahH8064.

14He saidוַיֹּאמַ֗רvai.yo.MarH559, “Lordיְהוָ֞הYah.wehH3068,Godאֱלֹהֵ֤י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478,thereH369isH369noH369godאֱלֹהִ֔ים'E.lo.HimH430likeכָּמ֣וֹךָka.Mo.khaH3644You in heavenבַּשָּׁמַ֖יִםba.sha.Ma.yimH8064or on earthוּבָאָ֑רֶץu.va.'A.retzH776,keepingשֹׁמֵ֤רsho.MerH8104Your covenantהַבְּרִית֙ha.be.RitH1285andYour faithfulnessוְֽהַחֶ֔סֶדve.ha.Che.sedH2617to Your servantsלַעֲבָדֶ֕יךָla.'a.va.Dei.khaH5650who walkהַהֹלְכִ֥יםha.ho.le.KhimH1980beforeלְפָנֶ֖יךָle.fa.Nei.khaH6440You with allבְּכָל־be.kholH3605their heartלִבָּֽם׃li.BamH3820;

15You whoאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834have keptשָׁמַ֗רְתָּsha.Mar.taH8104with Your servantלְעַבְדְּךָ֙le.'av.de.KhaH5650,my fatherאָבִ֔י'a.ViH1Davidדָּוִ֣ידda.VidH1732,that whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834Youpromisedדִּבַּ֖רְתָּdi.Bar.taH1696him; You have spokenוַתְּדַבֵּ֥רva.te.da.BerH1696with Your mouthבְּפִ֛יךָbe.Fi.khaH6310and have fulfilledמִלֵּ֖אתָmi.Le.taH4390it with Your handוּבְיָדְךָ֥u.ve.ya.de.KhaH3027, as it isthisהַזֶּֽה׃ha.ZehH2088dayכַּיּ֥וֹםkai.YomH3117.
