The Consecration of Aaron and His Sons

1Then the LordH3068 spokeH1696 to MosesH4872, sayingH559, 2“1TakeH3947 AaronH175 and his sonsH1121 with him, and the 2garmentsH899 and 3the anointingH4888 oilH8081 and the bullH6499 of the sinH2403 offeringH2403, and the twoH8147 ramsH352 and the basketH5536 of unleavenedH4682 breadH4682, 3and assembleH6950 allH3605 the congregationH5712 at the doorwayH6607 of the tentH168 of meetingH4150.” 4So MosesH4872 didH6213 justH3512 as the LordH3068 commandedH6680 him. When the congregationH5712 was assembledH6950 at the doorwayH6607 of the tentH168 of meetingH4150, 5MosesH4872 saidH559 to the congregationH5712, “ThisH2088 is the thingH1697 whichH834 the LordH3068 has commandedH6680 to doH6213.”

6Then 4MosesH4872 had AaronH175 and his sonsH1121 comeH7126 nearH7126 and 5washedH7364 them with waterH4325. 7He 6putH5414 the tunicH3801 on him and girdedH2296 him with the sashH73, and clothedH3847 him with the robeH4598 and putH5414 the ephodH646 on him; and he girdedH2296 him with the artisticH2805 bandH2805 of the ephodH646, 7with which he tiedH640 it to him. 8He then placedH7760 the 8breastpieceH2833 on him, and in the 9breastpieceH2833 he putH5414 1011the UrimH224 and the ThummimH8550. 9He also placedH7760 the turbanH4701 on his headH7218, and on the turbanH4701, at its frontH6440, he placedH7760 12the goldenH2091 plateH6731, the holyH6944 crownH5145, justH3512 as the LordH3068 had commandedH6680 MosesH4872.

10MosesH4872 then tookH3947 13the anointingH4888 oilH8081 and anointedH4886 the 14tabernacleH4908 and allH3605 that was in it, and consecratedH6942 them. 11He sprinkledH5137 someH4480 of it on the altarH4196 sevenH7651 timesH6471 and anointedH4886 the altarH4196 and allH3605 its utensilsH3627, and the basinH3595 and its standH3653, to 15consecrateH6942 them. 12Then he pouredH3332 someH4480 of the 16anointingH4888 oilH8081 on Aaron’sH175 headH7218 and anointedH4886 him, to consecrateH6942 him. 1317Next MosesH4872 had Aaron’sH175 sonsH1121 comeH7126 nearH7126 and clothedH3847 them with tunicsH3801, and girdedH2296 them with sashesH73 and boundH2280 18capsH4021 on them, justH3512 as the LordH3068 had commandedH6680 MosesH4872.

14Then he broughtH5066 19the bullH6499 of the sinH2403 offeringH2403, and AaronH175 and his sonsH1121 laidH5564 their handsH3027 on the headH7218 of the bullH6499 of the sinH2403 offeringH2403. 15Next 20MosesH4872 slaughteredH7819 it and tookH3947 the bloodH1818 and with his fingerH676 21putH5414 some of it aroundH5439 on the hornsH7161 of the altarH4196, and purifiedH2398 the altarH4196. Then he pouredH3332 out the rest of the bloodH1818 at the baseH3247 of the altarH4196 and consecratedH6942 it, to makeH3722 atonementH3722 for it. 16He also 22tookH3947 allH3605 the fatH2459 that was on the entrailsH7130 and the 23lobeH3508 of the liverH3516, and the twoH8147 kidneysH3629 and their fatH2459; and MosesH4872 offeredH6999 it up in smokeH6999 on the altarH4196. 1724But the bullH6499 and its hideH5785 and its fleshH1320 and its refuseH6569 he burnedH8313 in the fireH784 outsideH4480H2351 the campH4264, justH3512 as the LordH3068 had commandedH6680 MosesH4872.

18Then he presentedH7126 25the ramH352 of the burntH5930 offeringH5930, and AaronH175 and his sonsH1121 laidH5564 their handsH3027 on the headH7218 of the ramH352. 1926MosesH4872 slaughteredH7819 it and sprinkledH2236 the bloodH1818 aroundH5439 on the altarH4196. 20When he had cutH5408 the ramH352 into its piecesH5409, MosesH4872 27offeredH6999 up the headH7218 and the piecesH5409 and the suetH6309 in smokeH6999. 21After he had washedH7364 the entrailsH7130 and the legsH3767 with waterH4325, MosesH4872 28offeredH6999 up the wholeH3605 ramH352 in smokeH6999 on the altarH4196. It was a burntH5930 offeringH5930 for a soothingH5207 aromaH7381; it was an offeringH801 by fireH801 to the LordH3068, justH3512 as the LordH3068 had commandedH6680 MosesH4872.

22Then he presentedH7126 the secondH8145 ramH352, 29the ramH352 of 30ordinationH4394, and AaronH175 and his sonsH1121 laidH5564 their handsH3027 on the headH7218 of the ramH352. 2331MosesH4872 slaughteredH7819 it and tookH3947 someH4480 of its bloodH1818 and 32putH5414 it on the lobeH8571 of Aaron’sH175 rightH3233 earH241, and on the thumbH931 of his rightH3233 handH3027 and on the bigH931 toeH931 of his rightH3233 footH7272. 24He also had Aaron’sH175 sonsH1121 comeH7126 nearH7126; and MosesH4872 putH5414 someH4480 of the bloodH1818 on the lobeH8571 of their rightH3233 earH241, and on the thumbH931 of their rightH3233 handH3027 and on the bigH931 toeH931 of their rightH3233 footH7272. MosesH4872 then 33sprinkledH2236 the rest of the bloodH1818 aroundH5439 on the altarH4196. 25He tookH3947 the fatH2459, and the fatH451 tailH451, and allH3605 the fatH2459 that was on the entrailsH7130, and the 34lobeH3508 of the liverH3516 and the twoH8147 kidneysH3629 and their fatH2459 and the rightH3225 thighH7785. 2635From the basketH5536 of unleavenedH4682 breadH4682 that was beforeH6440 the LordH3068, he tookH3947 oneH259 unleavenedH4682 cakeH2471 and oneH259 cakeH2471 of breadH3899 mixed with oilH8081 and oneH259 waferH7550, and placedH7760 them on the portionsH2459 of fatH2459 and on the rightH3225 thighH7785. 27He then 36putH5414 allH3605 these on the handsH3709 of AaronH175 and on the handsH3709 of his sonsH1121 and presentedH5130 them as a waveH8573 offeringH8573 beforeH6440 the LordH3068. 28Then MosesH4872 37tookH3947 them from their handsH3709 and offeredH6999 them up in smokeH6999 on the altarH4196 with the burntH5930 offeringH5930. They were an ordinationH4394 offeringH4394 for 38a soothingH5207 aromaH7381; it was an offeringH801 by fireH801 to the LordH3068. 29MosesH4872 also tookH3947 39the breastH2373 and presentedH5130 it for a waveH8573 offeringH8573 beforeH6440 the LordH3068; it was 40Moses’H4872 portionH4490 of the ramH352 of ordinationH4394, justH3512 as the LordH3068 had commandedH6680 MosesH4872.

30So MosesH4872 41tookH3947 someH4480 of the anointingH4888 oilH8081 and someH4480 of the bloodH1818 whichH834 was on the altarH4196 and sprinkledH5137 it on AaronH175, on his garmentsH899, on his sonsH1121, and on the garmentsH899 of his sonsH1121 with him; and he consecratedH6942 AaronH175, his garmentsH899, and his sonsH1121, and the garmentsH899 of his sonsH1121 with him.

31Then MosesH4872 saidH559 to AaronH175 and to his sonsH1121, “42BoilH1310 the fleshH1320 at the doorwayH6607 of the tentH168 of meetingH4150, and eatH398 it thereH8033 together with the breadH3899 whichH834 is in the basketH5536 of the ordinationH4394 offeringH4394, justH3512 as I commandedH6680, 43sayingH559, ‘AaronH175 and his sonsH1121 shall eatH398 it.’ 3244The remainderH3498 of the fleshH1320 and of the breadH3899 you shall burnH8313 in the fireH784. 3345You shall not goH3318 outsideH3318 the doorwayH6607 of the tentH168 of meetingH4150 for sevenH7651 daysH3117, untilH5704 the dayH3117 that the periodH3117 of your ordinationH4394 is fulfilledH4390; for he will 46ordainH4390H3027 you through sevenH7651 daysH3117. 34The LordH3068 has commandedH6680 to doH6213 as has been doneH6213 thisH2088 dayH3117, to makeH3722 atonementH3722 on your behalfH5921. 35At the doorwayH6607 of the tentH168 of meetingH4150, moreover, you shall remainH3427 dayH3119 and nightH3915 for sevenH7651 daysH3117 and 47keepH8104 the chargeH4931 of the LordH3068, so that you will not dieH4191, for soH3651 I have been commandedH6680.” 36Thus AaronH175 and his sonsH1121 didH6213 allH3605 the thingsH1697 whichH834 the LordH3068 had commandedH6680 throughH3027 MosesH4872.
