Parable of the Boiling Pot
1And the wordH1697 of the LordH3068 cameH1961 to me in the ninthH8671 yearH8141, in the tenthH6224 monthH2320, on the tenthH6218 of the monthH2320, sayingH559, 2“SonH1121 of manH120, writeH3789 the nameH8034 of the dayH3117, thisH2088 veryH6106 dayH3117. The kingH4428 of BabylonH894 1has 2laidH5564 siegeH5564 to JerusalemH3389 thisH2088 veryH6106 dayH3117. 3SpeakH4911 a 3parableH4912 to the 4rebelliousH4805 houseH1004 and sayH559 to them, ‘ThusH3541 saysH559 the LordH136 5GodH3068, “PutH8239 on the 6potH5518, putH8239 it on and alsoH1571 pourH3332 waterH4325 in it;478PutH622 in it the piecesH5409, EveryH3605 goodH2896 pieceH5409, the thighH3409 and the shoulderH3802; FillH4390 it with choiceH4005 bonesH6106.5TakeH3947 the 9choicestH4005 of the flockH6629, And alsoH1571 pileH1754 10woodH6106 underH8478 11the pot. Make it boilH7570 vigorouslyH7571. AlsoH1571 seetheH1310 its bonesH6106 in it.”
6‘ThereforeH3651, thusH3541 saysH559 the LordH136 GodH3068, “WoeH188 to the 12bloodyH1818 cityH5892, To the potH5518 in whichH834 there is rustH2457 And whose rustH2457 has not goneH3318 out of it! TakeH3318 out of it pieceH5409 after pieceH5409, 13WithoutH3808 makingH5307 a choiceH1486.7For her bloodH1818 is in her midstH8432; She placedH7760 it on the bareH6706 rockH5553; She did not 14pourH8210 it on the groundH776 To coverH3680 it with dustH6083.8That it may 15cause wrathH2534 to comeH5927 up to takeH5358 vengeanceH5359, I have putH5414 her bloodH1818 on the bareH6706 rockH5553, That it may not be coveredH3680.” 9ThereforeH3651, thusH3541 saysH559 the LordH136 GodH3068, “16WoeH188 to the bloodyH1818 cityH5892! I alsoH1571 will makeH1431 the pileH4071 greatH1431.10HeapH7235 on the woodH6086, kindleH1814 the fireH784, 17BoilH8552 the fleshH1320 wellH8552 And mixH7543 in the spicesH7543, And let the bonesH6106 be burnedH2787.11Then 18setH5975 it emptyH7386 on its coalsH1513 SoH4616 that it may be hotH2552 And its bronzeH5178 may 19glowH2787 And its 20filthinessH2932 may be meltedH5413 in it, Its rustH2457 consumedH8552.12She has 21weariedH3811 Me with toilH8383, Yet her greatH7227 rustH2457 has not goneH3318 from her; Let her rustH2457 be in the fireH784!13In your filthinessH2932 is lewdnessH2154. BecauseH3282 I would have cleansedH2891 you, Yet you are 22not cleanH2891, You will not be cleansedH2891 from your filthinessH2932 againH5750 UntilH5704 I have 2324spentH5117 My wrathH2534 on you. 14I, the LordH3068, have spokenH1696; it is 25comingH935 and I will actH6213. I will not relentH6544, and I will not 26pityH2347 and I will not be sorryH5162; 27according to your waysH1870 and according to your deedsH5949 28I will judgeH8199 you,” declaresH5002 the LordH136 GodH3068.’”
Death of Ezekiel’s Wife Is a Sign
15And the wordH1697 of the LordH3068 cameH1961 to me sayingH559, 16“SonH1121 of manH120, beholdH2009, I am about to takeH3947 from you the 29desireH4261 of your eyesH5869 with a 30blowH4046; but you shall not 31mournH5594 and you shall not weepH1058, and your 32tearsH1832 shall not comeH935. 17GroanH602 silentlyH1826; makeH6213 33noH3808 mourningH60 for the deadH4191. BindH2280 on your turbanH6287 and putH7760 your shoesH5275 on your feetH7272, and do not coverH5844 your mustacheH8222 and 34do not eatH398 the breadH3899 of menH376.” 18So I spokeH1696 to the peopleH5971 in the morningH1242, and in the eveningH6153 my wifeH802 diedH4191. And in the morningH1242 I didH6213 as I was commandedH6680. 19The peopleH5971 saidH559 to me, “Will you not tellH5046 us whatH4100 theseH428 thingsH428 that you are doingH6213 mean for us?” 20Then I saidH559 to them, “The wordH1697 of the LordH3068 cameH1961 to me sayingH559, 21‘SpeakH559 to the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, “ThusH3541 saysH559 the LordH136 GodH3068, ‘BeholdH2009, I am about to profaneH2490 My sanctuaryH4720, the prideH1347 of your powerH5797, the 35desireH4261 of your eyesH5869 and the delightH4263 of your soulH5315; and your 36sonsH1121 and your daughtersH1323 whomH834 you have leftH5800 behindH5800 will fallH5307 by the swordH2719. 22You will doH6213 as I have doneH6213; you will not coverH5844 your mustacheH8222 and you will not eatH398 the breadH3899 of menH376. 23Your turbansH6287 will be on your headsH7218 and your shoesH5275 on your feetH7272. You 37will not mournH5594 and you will not weepH1058, but 38you will rotH4743 awayH4743 in your iniquitiesH5771 and you will groanH5098 39to oneH376 anotherH251. 24Thus EzekielH3168 will be a 40signH4159 to you; according to allH3605 that he has doneH6213 you will doH6213; when it comesH935, then you will knowH3045 that I am the LordH136 GodH3068.’”
25‘As for you, sonH1121 of manH120, will it not be on the dayH3117 when I takeH3947 from them their 41strongholdH4581, the joyH4885 of their 42prideH8597, the desireH4261 of their eyesH5869 and 43their heart’sH5315 delightH4853, their sonsH1121 and their daughtersH1323, 26that on that dayH3117 he whoH6412 44escapesH6412 will comeH935 to you with informationH2045 for your earsH241? 27On that dayH3117 your 45mouthH6310 will be openedH6605 to him whoH6412 escapedH6412, and you will speakH1696 and be muteH481 noH3808 longerH5750. Thus you will be a signH4159 to them, and they will knowH3045 that I am the LordH3068.’”
