Deuteronomy 9:7-24

7RememberH2142, do not forgetH7911 howH854H834 you provokedH7107 the LordH3068 your GodH430 to wrathH7107 in the wildernessH4057; 1from the dayH3117 that you leftH3318 the landH776 of EgyptH4714 untilH5704 you arrivedH935 at thisH2088 placeH4725, you have beenH1961 rebelliousH4784 againstH5973 the LordH3068. 8Even 2at HorebH2722 you provokedH7107 the LordH3068 to wrathH7107, and the LordH3068 was so angryH599 with you that He would have destroyedH8045 you. 9When I wentH5927 up to the mountainH2022 to receiveH3947 the tabletsH3871 of stoneH68, the tabletsH3871 of the covenantH1285 whichH834 the LordH3068 had madeH3772 with you, then I remainedH3427 on the mountainH2022 fortyH705 daysH3117 and nightsH3915; 3I neitherH3808 ateH398 breadH3899 norH3808 drankH8354 waterH4325. 10The LordH3068 gaveH5414 me the twoH8147 tabletsH3871 of stoneH68 4writtenH3789 by the fingerH676 of GodH430; and on them were allH3605 the wordsH1697 whichH834 the LordH3068 had spokenH1696 with you at the mountainH2022 from the midstH8432 of the fireH784 on the dayH3117 of the assemblyH6951. 11It cameH1961 about 5at the endH7093 of fortyH705 daysH3117 and nightsH3915 that the LordH3068 gaveH5414 me the twoH8147 tabletsH3871 of stoneH68, the tabletsH3871 of the covenantH1285. 126Then the LordH3068 saidH559 to me, ‘AriseH6965, goH3381 downH3381 from hereH2088 quicklyH4118, for your peopleH5971 whomH834 you broughtH3318 out of EgyptH4714 have actedH7843 corruptlyH7843. They have 7quicklyH4118 turnedH5493 asideH5493 from the wayH1870 whichH834 I commandedH6680 them; they have madeH6213 a moltenH4541 imageH4541 for themselves.’ 13The 8LordH3068 spokeH559 further to me, sayingH559, ‘I have seenH7200 thisH2088 peopleH5971, and indeedH2009, it is a 910stubbornH7186H6203 peopleH5971. 1411LetH7503 Me aloneH4480H7503, that I may destroyH8045 them and 12blotH4229 out their nameH8034 from underH8478 heavenH8064; and I will makeH6213 of you a nationH1471 mightierH6099 and greaterH7227 thanH4480 they.’

15“13So I turnedH6437 and cameH3381 downH3381 from the mountainH2022 while the mountainH2022 was burningH1197 with fireH784, and the twoH8147 tabletsH3871 of the covenantH1285 were in my twoH8147 handsH3027. 16And I sawH7200 that you had indeedH2009 sinnedH2398 against the LordH3068 your GodH430. You had madeH6213 for yourselves a moltenH4541 calfH5695; you had turnedH5493 asideH5493 quicklyH4118 from the wayH1870 whichH834 the LordH3068 had commandedH6680 you. 17I tookH8610 holdH8610 of the twoH8147 tabletsH3871 and threwH7993 them from my handsH3027 and smashedH7665 them before your eyesH5869. 1814I fellH5307 downH5307 beforeH6440 the LordH3068, 15as at the firstH7223, fortyH705 daysH3117 and nightsH3915; 16I neitherH3808 ateH398 breadH3899 norH3808 drankH8354 waterH4325, 17becauseH5921 of allH3605 your sinH2403 whichH834 you had committedH2398 in doingH6213 whatH7451 was evilH7451 in the sightH5869 of the LordH3068 to provokeH3707 Him to angerH3707. 19For 18I was afraidH3025 of the angerH639 and hotH2534 displeasureH2534 with whichH834 the LordH3068 was wrathfulH7107 againstH5921 you in order to destroyH8045 you, 19but the LordH3068 listenedH8085 to me that timeH6471 alsoH1571. 20The LordH3068 was angryH599 enoughH3966 with AaronH175 to destroyH8045 him; so I alsoH1571 prayedH6419 for AaronH175 at the sameH1931 timeH6256. 2120I tookH3947 your 21sinfulH2403 thing, the calfH5695 whichH834 you had madeH6213, and burnedH8313 it with fireH784 and crushedH3807 it, grindingH2912 it veryH3190 smallH3190 untilH5704H834 it was as fineH1854 as dustH6083; and I threwH7993 its dustH6083 into the brookH5158 that cameH3381 downH3381 from the mountainH2022.

22“Again at 22TaberahH8404 and at 23MassahH4532 and at 24Kibroth-hattaavahH6914 you provokedH7107 the LordH3068 to wrathH7107. 23When the LordH3068 sentH7971 you from 25Kadesh-barneaH6947, sayingH559, ‘26GoH5927 up and possessH3423 the landH776 whichH834 I have givenH5414 you,’ then you rebelledH4784 againstH854 the 27commandH6310 of the LordH3068 your GodH430; 28you neitherH3808 believedH539 Him norH3808 listenedH8085 to His voiceH6963. 2429You have beenH1961 rebelliousH4784 againstH5973 the LordH3068 from the dayH3117 I knewH3045 you.
