Deuteronomy 9:7-24
7RememberH2142, and forgetH7911 not, how thou provokedst YhwhH3068 thy GodH430 to wrathH7107 in the wildernessH4057: fromH4480 the dayH3117 that thou didst depart outH3318 of the landH776 of EgyptH4714, until ye cameH935 unto this placeH4725, ye have been rebelliousH4784 againstH5973 YhwhH3068. 8Also in HorebH2722 ye provokedH7107 YhwhH3068 to wrathH7107, so that YhwhH3068 was angryH599 with you to have destroyedH8045 you. 9When I was gone upH5927 into the mountH2022 to receiveH3947 the tablesH3871 of stoneH68, even the tablesH3871 of the covenantH1285 which YhwhH3068 madeH3772 with you, then I abodeH3427 in the mountH2022 fortyH705 daysH3117 and fortyH705 nightsH3915, I neither did eatH398 breadH3899 nor drinkH8354 waterH4325: 10And YhwhH3068 deliveredH5414 unto me twoH8147 tablesH3871 of stoneH68 writtenH3789 with the fingerH676 of GodH430; and on them was written according to all the wordsH1697, which YhwhH3068 spakeH1696 with you in the mountH2022 out of the midstH8432 of the fireH784 in the dayH3117 of the assemblyH6951. 11And it came to pass at the endH7093 of fortyH705 daysH3117 and fortyH705 nightsH3915, that YhwhH3068 gaveH5414 me the twoH8147 tablesH3871 of stoneH68, even the tablesH3871 of the covenantH1285. 12And YhwhH3068 saidH559 unto me, AriseH6965, get thee downH3381 quicklyH4118 from hence; for thy peopleH5971 which thou hast brought forthH3318 out of EgyptH4714 have corruptedH7843 themselves; they are quicklyH4118 turned asideH5493 out of the wayH1870 which I commandedH6680 them; they have madeH6213 them a molten imageH4541. 13Furthermore YhwhH3068 spakeH559 unto me, sayingH559, I have seenH7200 this peopleH5971, and, behold, it is a stiffneckedH7186H6203 peopleH5971: 14Let me aloneH7503, that I may destroyH8045 them, and blot outH4229 their nameH8034 from under heavenH8064: and I will makeH6213 ofH854 thee a nationH1471 mightierH6099 and greaterH7227 than they. 15So I turnedH6437 and came downH3381 from the mountH2022, and the mountH2022 burnedH1197 with fireH784: and the twoH8147 tablesH3871 of the covenantH1285 were in my twoH8147 handsH3027. 16And I lookedH7200, and, behold, ye had sinnedH2398 against YhwhH3068 your GodH430, and had madeH6213 you a moltenH4541 calfH5695: ye had turned asideH5493 quicklyH4118 out of the wayH1870 which YhwhH3068 had commandedH6680 you. 17And I tookH8610 the twoH8147 tablesH3871, and castH7993 them out ofH5921 my twoH8147 handsH3027, and brakeH7665 them before your eyesH5869. 18And I fell downH5307 beforeH6440 YhwhH3068, as at the firstH7223, fortyH705 daysH3117 and fortyH705 nightsH3915: I did neither eatH398 breadH3899, nor drinkH8354 waterH4325, because of all your sinsH2403 which ye sinnedH2398, in doingH6213 wickedlyH7451 in the sightH5869 of YhwhH3068, to provoke him to angerH3707. 19For I was afraidH3025 ofH6440 the angerH639 and hot displeasureH2534, wherewith YhwhH3068 was wrothH7107 against you to destroyH8045 you. But YhwhH3068 hearkenedH8085 unto me at that timeH6471 also. 20And YhwhH3068 was veryH3966 angryH599 with AaronH175 to have destroyedH8045 him: and I prayedH6419 for AaronH175 also the same timeH6256. 21And I tookH3947 your sinH2403, the calfH5695 which ye had madeH6213, and burntH8313 it with fireH784, and stampedH3807 it, and groundH2912 it very smallH3190, even until it was as smallH1854 as dustH6083: and I castH7993 the dustH6083 thereof into the brookH5158 that descended outH3381 of the mountH2022. 22And at TaberahH8404, and at MassahH4532, and at Kibroth–hattaavahH6914, ye provoked YhwhH3068 to wrathH7107. 23Likewise when YhwhH3068 sentH7971 you from Kadesh–barneaH6947, sayingH559, Go upH5927 and possessH3423 the landH776 which I have givenH5414 you; then ye rebelledH4784 against the commandmentH6310 of YhwhH3068 your GodH430, and ye believedH539 him not, nor hearkenedH8085 to his voiceH6963. 24Ye have been rebelliousH4784 against YhwhH3068 from the dayH3117 that I knewH3045 you.
