Deuteronomy 2:9-23
9Then the LordH3068 saidH559 to me, ‘Do not harassH6696 MoabH4124, norH408 provokeH1624 them to warH4421, for I will not giveH5414 you anyH4480 of 1their landH776 as a possessionH3425, becauseH3588 I have givenH5414 2ArH6144 to 3the sonsH1121 of LotH3876 as a possessionH3425.’ 10(The 4EmimH368 livedH3427 there formerlyH6440, a peopleH5971 as greatH1419, numerousH7227, and tallH7311 as the AnakimH6062. 11Like the AnakimH6062, they are alsoH637 regardedH2803 as 5RephaimH7497, but the MoabitesH4125 callH7121 them EmimH368. 126The HoritesH2752 formerlyH6440 livedH3427 in SeirH8165, but the sonsH1121 of EsauH6215 dispossessedH3423 them and destroyedH8045 them from beforeH6440 them and settledH3427 in their placeH8478, 7justH3512 as IsraelH3478 didH6213 to the landH776 of 8their possessionH3425 whichH834 the LordH3068 gaveH5414 to them.) 13‘NowH6258 ariseH6965 and crossH5674 overH5674 the 9brookH5158 ZeredH2218 yourselves.’ So we crossedH5674 overH5674 the 10brookH5158 ZeredH2218. 14Now the 11timeH3117 that it tookH1980 for us to comeH1980 from Kadesh-barneaH6947 untilH5704H834 we crossedH5674 overH5674 the 12brookH5158 ZeredH2218 was 13thirty-eightH7970H8083 yearsH8141, untilH5704 14allH3605 the generationH1755 of the menH376 of warH4421 perishedH8552 from withinH7130 the campH4264, as 15the LordH3068 had swornH7650 to them. 1516MoreoverH1571 the handH3027 of the LordH3068 was against them, to destroyH2000 them from withinH7130 the campH4264 untilH5704 they all perishedH8552.
16“So it cameH1961 about whenH3512 17allH3605 the menH376 of warH4421 had finallyH8552 perishedH8552H4191 from amongH7130 the peopleH5971, 17that the LordH3068 spokeH1696 to me, sayingH559, 18‘TodayH3117 you shall crossH5674 overH5674 18ArH6144, the borderH1366 of MoabH4124. 19When you comeH7126 oppositeH4136 the 19sonsH1121 of AmmonH5983, do not harassH6696 them norH408 provokeH1624 them, for I will not giveH5414 you anyH4480 of the landH776 of the sonsH1121 of AmmonH5983 as a possessionH3425, becauseH3588 I have givenH5414 it to 20the sonsH1121 of LotH3876 as a possessionH3425.’ 20(It is alsoH637 regardedH2803 as the landH776 of the 21RephaimH7497, for RephaimH7497 formerlyH6440 livedH3427 in it, but the AmmonitesH5984 callH7121 them ZamzumminH2157, 21a peopleH5971 as greatH1419, numerousH7227, and tallH7311 as the AnakimH6062, but the LordH3068 destroyedH8045 them beforeH6440 them. And they dispossessedH3423 them and settledH3427 in their placeH8478, 22justH3512 as He didH6213 for the sonsH1121 of EsauH6215, who 22liveH3427 in SeirH8165, whenH834 He destroyedH8045 23the HoritesH2752 from beforeH6440 them; they dispossessedH3423 them and settledH3427 in their placeH8478 evenH5704 to thisH2088 dayH3117. 23And the 24AvvimH5761, who livedH3427 in villagesH2691 as farH5704 as GazaH5804, the 2526CaphtorimH3732 who cameH3318 from 2728CaphtorH3731, destroyedH8045 them and livedH3427 in their placeH8478.)
