Deuteronomy 1:41-45
41“1Then you saidH559 to me, ‘We have sinnedH2398 against the LordH3068; we will indeed goH5927 up and fightH3898, justH3605H834 as the LordH3068 our GodH430 commandedH6680 us.’ And everyH376 manH376 of you girdedH2296 on his weaponsH3627 of warH4421, and regardedH1951 it as easyH1951 to goH5927 up into the hillH2022 countryH2022.
422And the LordH3068 saidH559 to me, ‘SayH559 to them, “Do not goH5927 up norH3808 fightH3898, for I am not amongH7130 you; otherwiseH3808 you will be 3defeatedH5062 beforeH6440 your enemiesH340.”’
43So I spokeH1696 to you, but you would not listenH8085. Instead 4you rebelledH4784 againstH854 the 5commandH6310 of the LordH3068, and actedH2102 presumptuouslyH2102 and wentH5927 up into the hillH2022 countryH2022.
446The AmoritesH567 who 7livedH3427 in that hillH2022 countryH2022 cameH3318 out againstH7122 you and chasedH7291 you 8as beesH1682 doH6213, and crushedH3807 you from SeirH8165 to HormahH2767.
45Then you returnedH7725 and weptH1058 beforeH6440 the LordH3068; but the 9LordH3068 did not listenH8085 to your voiceH6963 norH3808 giveH238 earH238 to you.
