19SoοὖνounG3767when it was eveningὀψίαςopsiasG3798on that dayἡμέρᾳhēmeraG2250,the firstμιᾷmiaG1520dayof the weekσαββάτωνsabbatōnG4521,and when the doorsθυρῶνthurōnG2374were shutκεκλεισμένωνkekleismenōnG2808whereὅπουhopouG3699the disciplesμαθηταὶmathētaiG3101were, forfearφόβονphobonG5401of the JewsἸουδαίων,IoudaiōnG2453,JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424cameἦλθενēlthenG2064and stoodἔστηestēG2476in their midstμέσονmesonG3319and saidλέγειlegeiG3004to them, “PeaceεἰρήνηeirēnēG1515be with you.”

20And when He had saidG3004thisτοῦτοtoutoG3778,He showedἔδειξενedeixenG1166them bothG2532His handsχεῖραςcheirasG5495and His sideπλευρὰνpleuranG4125.The disciplesμαθηταὶmathētaiG3101thenοὖνounG3767rejoicedἐχάρησανecharēsanG5463when they sawG3708the Lordκύριον.¶kurionG2962.

21SoοὖνounG3767JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424saidG3004to them againπάλιν·palinG3825, “PeaceεἰρήνηeirēnēG1515be with you;as the FatherπατὴρpatērG3962has sentἀπέσταλκένapestalkenG649Me, I alsoκἀγὼkagōkaiG2532sendπέμπωpempōG3992you.”

22And when He had saidλέγειlegeiG3004thisτοῦτοtoutoG3778,He breathedἐνεφύσησενenephusēsenG1720on them and saidG3004to them,“ReceiveλάβετεlabeteG2983the Holyἅγιον.hagionG40SpiritπνεῦμαpneumaG4151.

23IfἄνanG302you forgiveἀφῆτεaphēteG863the sinsἁμαρτίας,hamartiasG266of anyτινωνtinōnG5100, their sinshave been forgivenἀφέωνταιapheōntaiG863them; ifἄνanG302you retainκρατῆτε,kratēteG2902the sinsof anyτινωνtinōnG5100,they have been retainedκεκράτηνται.¶kekratēntaiG2902.”

24ButThomasΘωμᾶςThōmasG2381,oneεἷςheisG1520ofthe twelveδώδεκαdōdekaG1427,calledλεγόμενοςlegomenosG3004DidymusΔίδυμοςDidumosG1324,was not with them whenὅτεhoteG3753JesusἸησοῦς.IēsousG2424cameἦλθενēlthenG2064.

25SoοὖνounG3767the otherἄλλοιalloiG243disciplesμαθηταί·mathētaiG3101were sayingἔλεγονelegonG3004to him, “We have seenG3708the Lordκύριον.kurionG2962!”But he saidG3004to them, “UnlessἐὰνeanG1437 G3361I seeG3708inHis handsχερσὶνchersinG5495the imprintG5179of the nailsἥλωνhēlōnG2247,and putβάλωbalōG906my fingerδάκτυλόνdaktulonG1147into the placeG5117of the nailsἥλωνhēlōnG2247,and putβάλωbalōG906my handχεῖραcheiraG5495into His sideπλευρὰνpleuranG4125,I will not believeπιστεύσω.¶pisteusōG4100.”

26AfterG3326eightὀκτὼoktōG3638daysἡμέραςhēmerasG2250His disciplesμαθηταὶmathētaiG3101were againπάλινpalinG3825insideἔσωesōG2080,and ThomasΘωμᾶςThōmasG2381with them. JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424cameἔρχεταιerchetaiG2064,the doorsθυρῶνthurōnG2374having beenshutκεκλεισμένωνkekleismenōnG2808,and stoodἔστηestēG2476in their midstμέσονmesonG3319and saidG3004, “PeaceεἰρήνηeirēnēG1515be with you.”

27ThenεἶταeitaG1534He saidλέγειlegeiG3004to ThomasΘωμᾷ·ThōmaG2381, “ReachφέρεphereG5342hereὧδεhōdeG5602with your fingerδάκτυλόνdaktulonG1147,and seeG3708My handsχεῖράςcheirasG5495;and reachφέρεphereG5342here your handχεῖράcheiraG5495and putβάλεbaleG906it into My sideπλευράνpleuranG4125;and do not be unbelievingἄπιστοςapistosG571,but believingπιστός.¶pistosG4103.”

28ThomasΘωμᾶςThōmasG2381answeredἀπεκρίθηapekrithēG611and saidG3004to Him, “My LordκύριόςkuriosG2962and my GodθεόςtheosG2316!”

29JesusἸησοῦς·IēsousG2424saidλέγειlegeiG3004to him,“BecauseὅτιhotiG3754you have seenG3708Me, have you believedπεπίστευκας·pepisteukasG4100?BlessedμακάριοιmakarioiG3107arethey who did not seeG3708, and yetbelievedπιστεύσαντες.¶pisteusantesG4100.”
