17Then Jeremiahיִרְמְיָ֣הוּyir.me.Ya.huH3414saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Zedekiahצִדְקִיָּ֡הוּtzid.ki.Ya.huH6667, “Thusכֹּֽה־koh-H3541saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָה֩Yah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵ֨י'e.lo.HeiH430of hostsצְבָא֜וֹתtze.va.'otH6635, theGodאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478, ‘Ifאִם־'im-H518you will indeedיָצֹ֨אya.Tzo'H3318goתֵצֵ֜אte.Tze'H3318out to the officersשָׂרֵ֤יsa.ReiH8269of the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Babylonבָּבֶל֙ba.VelH894, thenyou will liveוְחָיְתָ֣הve.cha.ye.TahH2421,thisH2088cityוְהָעִ֣ירve.ha.'IrH5892will not be burnedתִשָּׂרֵ֖ףti.sa.RefH8313with fireבָּאֵ֑שׁba.'EshH784,and you and your householdוּבֵיתֶֽךָ׃u.vei.Te.khaH1004willsurviveוְחָיִ֖תָהve.cha.Yi.tahH2421.

18But ifוְאִ֣םve.'ImH518you willnot goתֵצֵ֗אte.Tze'H3318out to the officersשָׂרֵי֙sa.ReiH8269of the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Babylonבָּבֶ֔לba.VelH894,then thisH2088cityהָעִ֤ירha.'IrH5892will be givenוְנִתְּנָ֞הve.ni.te.NahH5414over to the handבְּיַ֣דbe.YadH3027of the Chaldeansהַכַּשְׂדִּ֔יםha.kas.DimH3778;and they will burnוּשְׂרָפ֖וּהָu.se.ra.Fu.haH8313it with fireבָּאֵ֑שׁba.'EshH784, andyou yourselfוְאַתָּ֖הve.'a.TahH859will not escapeתִמָּלֵ֥טti.ma.LetH4422from their handמִיָּדָֽם׃ סmi.ya.DamH3027.’”

19Then Kingהַמֶּ֥לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428Zedekiahצִדְקִיָּ֖הוּtzid.ki.Ya.huH6667saidוַיֹּ֛אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Jeremiahיִרְמְיָ֑הוּyir.me.Ya.huH3414, “Idreadדֹאֵ֣גdo.'EgH1672the Jewsהַיְּהוּדִ֗יםhai.ye.hu.DimH3064whoאֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834havegoneH5307overH5307to the Chaldeansהַכַּשְׂדִּ֔יםha.kas.DimH3778,for they may giveיִתְּנ֥וּyi.te.NuH5414me over into their handבְּיָדָ֖םbe.ya.DamH3027and they willabuseוְהִתְעַלְּלוּ־ve.hit.'a.le.lu-H5953me.”

20But Jeremiahיִרְמְיָ֖הוּyir.me.Ya.huH3414saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “They will not giveיִתֵּ֑נוּyi.Te.nuH5414you over. Pleaseנָ֣א׀na'H4994obeyשְֽׁמַֽע־ בְּק֣וֹלshe.ma'- be.KolH8085 H6963the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068in whatלַאֲשֶׁ֤רla.'a.SherH834I am sayingדֹּבֵ֣רdo.VerH1696to you, that it may goוְיִ֥יטַבve.Yi.tavH3190wellH3190with you andyou may liveוּתְחִ֥יu.te.ChiH2421.

21But ifוְאִם־ve.'im-H518you keep refusingH3985to goלָצֵ֑אתla.TzetH3318out, thisזֶ֣הzehH2088is the wordהַדָּבָ֔רha.da.VarH1697whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068has shownהִרְאַ֖נִיhir.'A.niH7200me:

22‘Then beholdוְהִנֵּ֣הve.hi.NehH2009,allכָל־khol-H3605of thewomenH802whoאֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834have been leftנִשְׁאֲרוּ֙nish.'a.RuH7604in the palaceבְּבֵ֣יתbe.VeitH1004of the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063are going to be broughtמוּצָא֕וֹתmu.tza.'otH3318out to theofficersשָׂרֵ֖יsa.ReiH8269of the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Babylonבָּבֶ֑לba.VelH894;and thoseH1992womenH802will sayאֹמְר֗וֹת'o.me.RotH559, “Your closeH7965friendsH376 H7965Have misledהִסִּית֜וּךָhi.si.Tu.khaH5496and overpoweredוְיָכְל֤וּve.ya.khe.LuH3201you;While your feetרַגְלֶ֖ךָrag.Le.khaH7272were sunkהָטְבְּע֥וּha.te.be.'UH2883in the mireבַבֹּ֛ץva.BotzH1206,They turnedנָסֹ֥גוּna.So.guH5472backאָחֽוֹר׃'a.ChorH268.”

23They will also bringמֽוֹצִאִים֙mo.tzi.'ImH3318out allכָּל־kol-H3605your wivesנָשֶׁ֣יךָna.Shei.khaH802and yoursonsבָּנֶ֗יךָba.Nei.khaH1121to the Chaldeansהַכַּשְׂדִּ֔יםha.kas.DimH3778, andyou yourselfוְאַתָּ֖הve.'a.TahH859will not escapeתִמָּלֵ֣טti.ma.LetH4422from their handמִיָּדָ֑םmi.ya.DamH3027,but will be seizedתִּתָּפֵ֔שׂti.ta.FesH8610by the handבְיַ֤דve.YadH3027of the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Babylonבָּבֶל֙ba.VelH894, andthisH2088cityהָעִ֥ירha.'IrH5892will be burnedתִּשְׂרֹ֥ףtis.RofH8313with fireבָּאֵֽשׁ׃ פba.'EshH784.’”
