1Then the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Mosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872, “Goבֹּ֖אbo'H935to Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֑הpar.'OhH6547and speakוְדִבַּרְתָּ֣ve.di.bar.TaH1696to him, ‘Thusכֹּֽה־koh-H3541saysאָמַ֤ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of the Hebrewsהָֽעִבְרִ֔יםha.'iv.RimH5680, “LetH7971My peopleעַמִּ֖י'a.MiH5971goשַׁלַּ֥חsha.LachH7971,that they may serveוְיַֽעַבְדֻֽנִי׃ve.Ya.'av.Du.niH5647Me.

2Forifאִם־'im-H518you refuseמָאֵ֥ןma.'EnH3986to letH7971themgoלְשַׁלֵּ֑חַle.sha.Le.achH7971andcontinueוְעוֹדְךָ֖ve.'od.KhaH5750to holdמַחֲזִ֥יקma.cha.ZikH2388them,

3beholdהִנֵּ֨הhi.NehH2009,the handיַד־yad-H3027of the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068will comeהוֹיָ֗הho.YahH1961witha veryמְאֹֽד׃me.'OdH3966severeכָּבֵ֥דka.VedH3515pestilenceדֶּ֖בֶרDe.verH1698on your livestockבְּמִקְנְךָ֙be.mik.ne.ChaH4735whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834are in the fieldבַּשָּׂדֶ֔הba.sa.DehH7704,on the horsesבַּסּוּסִ֤יםba.su.SimH5483,on the donkeysבַּֽחֲמֹרִים֙ba.cha.mo.RimH2543,on the camelsבַּגְּמַלִּ֔יםba.ge.ma.LimH1581,on the herdsבַּבָּקָ֖רba.ba.KarH1241,and on the flocksוּבַצֹּ֑אןu.va.TzonH6629.

4But the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068will makeH6395a distinctionH6395betweenH996the livestockמִקְנֵ֣הmik.NehH4735of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478and the livestockמִקְנֵ֣הmik.NehH4735of Egyptמִצְרָ֑יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714, so thatnothingוְלֹ֥א דָּבָֽר׃ve.Lo' da.VarH3808 H1697will dieיָמ֛וּתya.MutH4191of allמִכָּל־mi.kolH3605that belongs to the sonsלִבְנֵ֥יliv.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478.”’”

5The Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068setוַיָּ֥שֶׂםvai.Ya.semH7760a definiteH4150timeמוֹעֵ֣דmo.'EdH4150,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559, “Tomorrowמָחָ֗רma.CharH4279the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068will doיַעֲשֶׂ֧הya.'a.SehH6213thisהַזֶּ֖הha.ZehH2088thingהַדָּבָ֥רha.da.VarH1697in the landבָּאָֽרֶץ׃ba.'A.retzH776.”

6So the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068didוַיַּ֨עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213thisהַזֶּה֙ha.ZehH2088thingהַדָּבָ֤רha.da.VarH1697on the nextמִֽמָּחֳרָ֔תmi.mo.cho.RatH4283dayH4283, andallכֹּ֖לkolH3605the livestockמִקְנֵ֣הmik.NehH4735of EgyptH4714diedוַיָּ֕מָתvai.Ya.motH4191;but of the livestockוּמִמִּקְנֵ֥הu.mi.mik.NehH4735of the sonsבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478,not oneאֶחָֽד׃'e.ChadH259diedמֵ֥תmetH4191.

7Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֔הpar.'OhH6547sentH7971,and beholdוְהִנֵּ֗הve.hi.NehH2009,there was not evenעַד־'ad-H5704oneאֶחָ֑ד'e.ChadH259of the livestockמִמִּקְנֵ֥הmi.mik.NehH4735of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478deadמֵ֛תmetH4191. Butthe heartלֵ֣בlevH3820of Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֔הpar.'OhH6547washardenedוַיִּכְבַּד֙vai.yikh.BadH3513,and he did not letH7971the peopleהָעָֽם׃ פha.'AmH5971goH7971.

The Plague of Boils

8Then the Lordיְהוָה֮Yah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Mosesמֹשֶׁ֣הmo.ShehH4872and Aaronאַהֲרֹן֒'a.ha.RonH175, “Takeקְח֤וּke.ChuH3947for yourselves handfulsמְלֹ֣א חָפְנֵיכֶ֔םme.Lo' cha.fe.nei.KhemH4393 H2651of sootפִּ֖יחַPi.achH6368from a kilnכִּבְשָׁ֑ןkiv.ShanH3536,and let Mosesמֹשֶׁ֛הmo.ShehH4872throwוּזְרָק֥וֹu.ze.ra.KoH2236it toward the skyהַשָּׁמַ֖יְמָהha.sha.May.mahH8064in the sightלְעֵינֵ֥יle.'ei.NeiH5869of Pharaohפַרְעֹֽה׃far.'OhH6547.

9It will becomeוְהָיָ֣הve.ha.YahH1961fine dustלְאָבָ֔קle.'a.VakH80overH5921allכָּל־kol-H3605the landאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָ֑יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714,and will becomeוְהָיָ֨הve.ha.YahH1961boilsלִשְׁחִ֥יןlish.ChinH7822breakingפֹּרֵ֛חַpo.Re.achH6524out with soresאֲבַעְבֻּעֹ֖ת'a.va'.bu.'OtH76on manהָאָדָ֜םha.'a.DamH120and beastהַבְּהֵמָ֗הha.be.he.MahH929through allבְּכָל־be.kholH3605the landאֶ֥רֶץ'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָֽיִם׃mitz.Ra.yimH4714.”

10So they tookוַיִּקְח֞וּvai.yik.ChuH3947sootפִּ֣יחַPi.achH6368from a kilnהַכִּבְשָׁ֗ןha.kiv.ShanH3536,and stoodוַיַּֽעַמְדוּ֙vai.ya.'am.DuH5975beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440Pharaohפַרְעֹ֔הfar.'OhH6547;and Mosesמֹשֶׁ֖הmo.ShehH4872threwוַיִּזְרֹ֥קvai.yiz.RokH2236it toward the skyהַשָּׁמָ֑יְמָהha.sha.Ma.ye.mahH8064,and it becameוַיְהִ֗יvay.HiH1961boilsשְׁחִין֙she.ChinH7822breakingפֹּרֵ֕חַpo.Re.achH6524out with soresאֲבַעְבֻּעֹ֔ת'a.va'.bu.'OtH76on manבָּאָדָ֖םba.'a.DamH120and beastוּבַבְּהֵמָֽה׃u.va.be.he.MahH929.

11Themagiciansהַֽחַרְטֻמִּ֗יםha.char.tu.MimH2748couldיָכְל֣וּya.khe.LuH3201not standלַעֲמֹ֛דla.'a.ModH5975beforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440Mosesמֹשֶׁ֖הmo.ShehH4872becauseמִפְּנֵ֣יmi.pe.NeiH4480 H6440of the boilsהַשְּׁחִ֑יןha.she.ChinH7822,for the boilsהַשְּׁחִ֔יןha.she.ChinH7822were on the magiciansבַּֽחֲרְטֻמִּ֖םba.char.tu.MimH2748as well as on allוּבְכָל־u.ve.Khol-H3605the EgyptiansH4714.

12Andthe Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068hardenedוַיְחַזֵּ֤קvay.cha.ZekH2388Pharaoh’sפַּרְעֹ֔הpar.'OhH6547heartלֵ֣בlevH3820,and he did not listenשָׁמַ֖עsha.Ma'H8085to them, justH3512as the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068had spokenדִּבֶּ֥רdi.BerH1696to Mosesמֹשֶֽׁה׃ סmo.ShehH4872.

13Then the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Mosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872, “Riseהַשְׁכֵּ֣םhash.KemH7925up earlyH7925in the morningבַּבֹּ֔קֶרba.Bo.kerH1242and standוְהִתְיַצֵּ֖בve.hit.ya.TzevH3320beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440Pharaohפַרְעֹ֑הfar.'OhH6547and sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֣ve.'a.mar.TaH559to him, ‘Thusכֹּֽה־koh-H3541saysאָמַ֤ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of the Hebrewsהָֽעִבְרִ֔יםha.'iv.RimH5680, “LetH7971My peopleעַמִּ֖י'a.MiH5971goשַׁלַּ֥חsha.LachH7971,that they may serveוְיַֽעַבְדֻֽנִי׃ve.Ya.'av.Du.niH5647Me.

14For thisH2088timeבַּפַּ֣עַםba.Pa.'amH6471I will sendשֹׁלֵ֜חַsho.Le.achH7971allכָּל־kol-H3605My plaguesמַגֵּפֹתַי֙ma.ge.fo.TaiH4046on you and your servantsוּבַעֲבָדֶ֖יךָu.va.'a.va.Dei.khaH5650and your peopleוּבְעַמֶּ֑ךָu.ve.'a.Me.khaH5971,soבַּעֲב֣וּרba.'a.VurH5668thatyou may knowתֵּדַ֔עte.Da'H3045that thereH369is noH369oneH369likeכָּמֹ֖נִיka.Mo.niH3644Me in allבְּכָל־be.kholH3605the earthהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776.

15For if bynowעַתָּה֙'a.TahH6258I had putH7971forthH7971My handיָדִ֔יya.DiH3027and struckוָאַ֥ךְva.'AkhH5221you and your peopleעַמְּךָ֖'a.me.KhaH5971with pestilenceבַּדָּ֑בֶרba.Da.verH1698,you would then have been cutH3582offH3582from the earthהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776.

16But, indeedוְאוּלָ֗םve.'u.LamH199,for thisH2088reasonבַּעֲב֥וּרba.'a.VurH5668I have allowed you toremainהֶעֱמַדְתִּ֔יךָhe.'e.mad.Ti.khaH5975,in orderבַּעֲב֖וּרba.'a.VurH5668to showהַרְאֹתְךָ֣har.'o.te.KhaH7200you My powerכֹּחִ֑יko.ChiH3581and in orderוּלְמַ֛עַןu.le.Ma.'anH4616to proclaimסַפֵּ֥רsa.PerH5608My nameשְׁמִ֖יshe.MiH8034through allבְּכָל־be.kholH3605the earthהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776.

17Stillעוֹדְךָ֖'od.KhaH5750you exaltמִסְתּוֹלֵ֣לmis.to.LelH5549yourself against My peopleבְּעַמִּ֑יbe.'a.MiH5971by not lettingH7971them goשַׁלְּחָֽם׃sha.le.ChamH7971.

The Plague of Hail

18BeholdH2009,about this timeכָּעֵ֣תka.'EtH6256tomorrowמָחָ֔רma.CharH4279, I willsendמַמְטִיר֙mam.TirH4305a veryמְאֹ֑דme.'OdH3966heavyכָּבֵ֣דka.VedH3515hailבָּרָ֖דba.RadH1259,suchאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834as has not beenהָיָ֤הha.YahH1961seenin Egyptבְּמִצְרַ֔יִםbe.mitz.Ra.yimH4714from the dayהַיּ֥וֹםhai.YomH3117it was foundedהִוָּסְדָ֖הhi.va.se.DahH3245untilוְעַד־ve.'ad-H5704nowעָֽתָּה׃'A.tahH6258.

19Nowוְעַתָּ֗הve.'a.TahH6258therefore sendשְׁלַ֤חshe.LachH7971,bringH5756your livestockמִקְנְךָ֔mik.ne.ChaH4735and whateverכָּל־kol-H3605 H834you have in the fieldבַּשָּׂדֶ֑הba.sa.DehH7704to safetyH5756.Everyכָּל־kol-H3605manהָאָדָ֨םha.'a.DamH120and beastוְהַבְּהֵמָ֜הve.ha.be.he.MahH929that is foundיִמָּצֵ֣אyi.ma.Tze'H4672in the fieldבַשָּׂדֶ֗הva.sa.DehH7704and is not broughtיֵֽאָסֵף֙ye.'a.SefH622homeהַבַּ֔יְתָהha.Bay.tahH1004,when the hailהַבָּרָ֖דha.ba.RadH1259comesוְיָרַ֧דve.ya.RadH3381downH3381on them, will dieוָמֵֽתוּ׃va.Me.tuH4191.”’”

20The oneH4480among the servantsמֵֽעַבְדֵ֖יme.'av.DeiH5650of Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֑הpar.'OhH6547whofearedH3372the wordדְּבַ֣רde.VarH1697of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068made his servantsעֲבָדָ֥יו'a.va.DavH5650and his livestockמִקְנֵ֖הוּmik.Ne.huH4735fleeהֵנִ֛יסhe.NisH5127into the housesהַבָּתִּֽים׃ha.ba.TimH1004;

21but he whoוַאֲשֶׁ֥רva.'a.SherH834paidH7760noלֹא־lo'-H3808regardלִבּ֖וֹli.BoH7760 H3820to the wordדְּבַ֣רde.VarH1697of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068leftוַֽיַּעֲזֹ֛בvai.ya.'a.ZoH5800his servantsעֲבָדָ֥יו'a.va.DavH5650and his livestockמִקְנֵ֖הוּmik.Ne.huH4735in the fieldבַּשָּׂדֶֽה׃ פba.sa.DehH7704.

22Now the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Mosesמֹשֶׁהmo.shehH4872, “Stretchנְטֵ֤הne.TehH5186out your handיָֽדְךָ֙ya.de.KhaH3027towardH5921the skyהַשָּׁמַ֔יִםha.sha.Ma.yimH8064, thathailבָרָ֖דva.RadH1259may fallוִיהִ֥יvi.HiH1961on allבְּכָל־be.kholH3605the landאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָ֑יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714,on manהָאָדָ֣םha.'a.DamH120and on beastהַבְּהֵמָ֗הha.be.he.MahH929and on everyכָּל־kol-H3605plantעֵ֥שֶׂב'E.sevH6212of the fieldהַשָּׂדֶ֖הha.sa.DehH7704,throughout the landבְּאֶ֥רֶץbe.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָֽיִם׃mitz.Ra.yimH4714.”

23Mosesמֹשֶׁ֣הmo.ShehH4872stretchedוַיֵּ֨טvai.YetH5186out his staffמַטֵּהוּ֮ma.te.HuH4294towardH5921the skyהַשָּׁמַיִם֒ha.sha.ma.YimH8064,and the Lordוַֽיהוָ֗הva.Yah.wehH3068sentנָתַ֤ןna.TanH5414thunderקֹלֹת֙ko.LotH6963andhailוּבָרָ֔דu.va.RadH1259,and fireאֵ֖שׁ'eshH784ranוַתִּ֥הֲלַךְva.Ti.ha.lakhH1980down to the earthאָ֑רְצָה'A.re.tzahH776.And the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068rainedוַיַּמְטֵ֧רvai.yam.TerH4305hailבָּרָ֖דba.RadH1259on the landאֶ֥רֶץ'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָֽיִם׃mitz.Ra.yimH4714.

24So there was hailבָרָ֔דva.RadH1259,and fireוְאֵ֕שׁve.'EshH784flashingמִתְלַקַּ֖חַתmit.la.Ka.chatH3947continually in the midstבְּת֣וֹךְbe.TokhH8432of the hailהַבָּרָ֑דha.ba.RadH1259,veryמְאֹ֔דme.'OdH3966severeכָּבֵ֣דka.VedH3515,suchאֲ֠שֶׁר'a.SherH834as had not beenH1961in allבְּכָל־be.kholH3605the landאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרַ֔יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714sinceH3975it becameH1961a nationלְגֽוֹי׃le.GoyH1471.

25The hailהַבָּרָ֜דha.ba.RadH1259struckוַיַּ֨ךְvai.YakhH5221allבְּכָל־be.kholH3605that was in the fieldבַּשָּׂדֶ֔הba.sa.DehH7704through allכָּל־kol-H3605the landאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרַ֗יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714,bothH4480manמֵאָדָ֖םme.'a.DamH120and beastבְּהֵמָ֑הbe.he.MahH929;the hailהַבָּרָ֔דha.ba.RadH1259also struckהִכָּ֣הhi.KahH5221everyכָּל־kol-H3605plantעֵ֤שֶׂב'E.sevH6212of the fieldהַשָּׂדֶה֙ha.sa.DehH7704and shatteredשִׁבֵּֽר׃shi.BerH7665everyכָּל־kol-H3605treeעֵ֥ץ'etzH6086of the fieldהַשָּׂדֶ֖הha.sa.DehH7704.

26OnlyH7534in the landבְּאֶ֣רֶץbe.'E.retzH776of Goshenגֹּ֔שֶׁןGo.shenH1657,whereאֲשֶׁר־ שָׁ֖ם'a.Sher- shamH834 H8033the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478were,there was noלֹ֥אlo'H3808hailבָּרָֽד׃ba.RadH1259.

27Then Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֗הpar.'OhH6547sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֣חvai.yish.LachH7971for Mosesלְמֹשֶׁ֣הle.mo.ShehH4872and Aaronוּֽלְאַהֲרֹ֔ןu.le.'a.ha.RonH175,and saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to them, “I have sinnedחָטָ֣אתִיcha.Ta.tiH2398thisH6471timeהַפָּ֑עַםha.Pa.'amH6471;the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068is the righteousהַצַּדִּ֔יקha.tza.DikH6662oneH6662,and I and my peopleוְעַמִּ֖יve.'a.MiH5971are the wickedH7563onesH7563.

28MakeH6279supplicationH6279to the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,for there has been enoughוְרַ֕בve.RavH7227of God’sאֱלֹהִ֖ים'E.lo.HimH430thunderקֹלֹ֥תko.LotH6963and hailוּבָרָ֑דu.va.RadH1259; andI will letH7971you goוַאֲשַׁלְּחָ֣הva.'a.sha.le.ChahH7971,and you shall stayלַעֲמֹֽד׃la.'a.ModH5975noוְלֹ֥אve.Lo'H3808longerתֹסִפ֖וּןto.si.FunH3254.”

29Mosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to him, “As soon as I goכְּצֵאתִי֙ke.tze.TiH3318out of the cityהָעִ֔ירha.'IrH5892, I willspreadאֶפְרֹ֥שׂ'ef.RosH6566out myhandsכַּפַּ֖יka.PaiH3709to the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068; thethunderהַקֹּל֣וֹתha.ko.LotH6963will ceaseיֶחְדָּל֗וּןyech.da.LunH2308and there will be hailוְהַבָּרָד֙ve.ha.ba.RadH1259noלֹ֣אlo'H3808longerע֔וֹדodH5750,that you may knowתֵּדַ֔עte.Da'H3045thatthe earthהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776is the Lord’sלַיהוָ֖הla.Yah.wehH3068.

30But as for you and your servantsוַעֲבָדֶ֑יךָva.'a.va.Dei.khaH5650,I knowיָדַ֕עְתִּיya.Da'.tiH3045thatyou do not yetטֶ֣רֶםTe.remH2962fearתִּֽירְא֔וּןtir.'UnH3372the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהִֽים׃'E.lo.HimH430.”

31(Now the flaxוְהַפִּשְׁתָּ֥הve.ha.pish.TahH6594and thebarleyוְהַשְּׂעֹרָ֖הve.ha.se.'o.RahH8184wereruinedנֻכָּ֑תָהnu.Ka.tahH5221,for the barleyהַשְּׂעֹרָה֙ha.se.'o.RahH8184was in the earאָבִ֔יב'a.VivH24and the flaxוְהַפִּשְׁתָּ֖הve.ha.pish.TahH6594was in budגִּבְעֹֽל׃giv.'OlH1392.

32But the wheatוְהַחִטָּ֥הve.ha.chi.TahH2406and the speltוְהַכֻּסֶּ֖מֶתve.hak.ku.Se.metH3698were notruinedנֻכּ֑וּnu.KuH5221, for they ripenlateאֲפִילֹ֖ת'a.fi.LotH648.)

33So Mosesמֹשֶׁ֜הmo.ShehH4872wentוַיֵּצֵ֨אvai.ye.Tze'H3318out of the cityהָעִ֔ירha.'IrH5892from Pharaohפַּרְעֹה֙par.'OhH6547,and spreadוַיִּפְרֹ֥שׂvai.yif.RosH6566out hishandsכַּפָּ֖יוka.PavH3709to the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068; and thethunderהַקֹּלוֹת֙ha.ko.lOtH6963and the hailוְהַבָּרָ֔דve.ha.ba.RadH1259ceasedוַֽיַּחְדְּל֤וּvai.yach.de.LuH2308,and rainוּמָטָ֖רu.ma.TarH4306noלֹא־lo'-H3808longer pouredנִתַּ֥ךְni.TakhH5413on the earthאָֽרְצָה׃'A.re.tzahH776.

34But when Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֗הpar.'OhH6547sawוַיַּ֣רְאvai.Yar'H7200that the rainהַמָּטָ֧רha.ma.TarH4306and the hailוְהַבָּרָ֛דve.ha.ba.RadH1259and thethunderוְהַקֹּלֹ֖תve.ha.ko.LotH6963had ceasedחָדַ֨לcha.DalH2308,he sinnedלַחֲטֹ֑אla.cha.To'H2398againוַיֹּ֣סֶףvai.Yo.sefH3254andhardenedוַיַּכְבֵּ֥דvai.yakh.BedH3513his heartלִבּ֖וֹli.BoH3820,he and his servantsוַעֲבָדָֽיו׃va.'a.va.DavH5650.
