1Now Mosesוּמֹשֶׁ֗הu.mo.ShehH4872was pasturingרֹעֶ֛הro.'EhH7462the flockצֹ֛אןtzonH6629ofJethroיִתְר֥וֹyit.RoH3503his father-in-lawH2860,the priestכֹּהֵ֣ןko.HenH3548of Midianמִדְיָ֑ןmid.YanH4080;and he ledוַיִּנְהַ֤גvai.yin.HagH5090the flockהַצֹּאן֙ha.tzoNH6629to thewestH310sideH310of the wildernessהַמִּדְבָּ֔רha.mid.BarH4057and cameוַיָּבֹ֛אvai.ya.Vo'H935toHorebחֹרֵֽבָה׃cho.Re.vahH2722, themountainהַ֥רharH2022of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֖יםha.'E.lo.HimH430.
2The angelמַלְאַ֨ךְmal.'AkhH4397of the Lordיְהֹוָ֥הYah.wehH3068appearedוַ֠יֵּרָאVai.ye.ra'H7200to him in a blazingH3852fireאֵ֖שׁ'eshH784from the midstמִתּ֣וֹךְmi.TokhH8432of abushהַסְּנֶ֑הha.se.NehH5572;and he lookedוַיַּ֗רְאvai.Yar'H7200,and beholdוְהִנֵּ֤הve.hi.NehH2009,the bushהַסְּנֶה֙ha.se.NehH5572was burningבֹּעֵ֣רbo.'ErH1197with fireבָּאֵ֔שׁba.'EshH784,yet the bushוְהַסְּנֶ֖הve.ha.se.NehH5572was not consumedאֻכָּֽל׃'u.KalH398.
3So Mosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “I must turnאָסֻֽרָה־'a.su.rah-H5493asideH5493nowנָּ֣אna'H4994and seeוְאֶרְאֶ֔הve.'er.'EhH7200thisהַזֶּ֑הha.ZehH2088marvelousהַגָּדֹ֖לha.ga.DolH1419sightהַמַּרְאֶ֥הha.mar.'EhH4758,whyמַדּ֖וּעַma.Du.a'H4069the bushהַסְּנֶֽה׃ha.se.NehH5572is not burnedיִבְעַ֥רyiv.'ArH1197up.”
4When the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068sawוַיַּ֥רְאvai.Yar'H7200that he turnedH5493asideסָ֣רsarH5493to lookלִרְא֑וֹתlir.'otH7200,Godאֱלֹהִ֜ים'E.lo.HimH430calledוַיִּקְרָא֩vai.yik.Ra'H7121to him from the midstמִתּ֣וֹךְmi.TokhH8432of the bushהַסְּנֶ֗הha.se.NehH5572and saidוַיֹּ֛אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Mosesמֹשֶׁ֥הmo.ShehH4872,Mosesמֹשֶׁ֖הmo.ShehH4872!”And he saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Hereהִנֵּֽנִי׃hi.Ne.niH2009I am.”
5Then He saidוַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Do not comeH7126nearH7126hereהֲלֹ֑םha.LomH1988;removeשַׁל־shal-H5394your sandalsנְעָלֶ֙יךָ֙ne.'a.Lei.khaH5275from your feetרַגְלֶ֔יךָrag.Lei.khaH7272,for the placeהַמָּק֗וֹםha.ma.KomH4725on whichאֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834you are standingעוֹמֵ֣דo.MedH5975is holyקֹ֖דֶשׁKo.deshH6944groundאַדְמַת־'ad.mat-H127.”
6He saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559also, “I am the Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of your fatherאָבִ֔יךָ'a.Vi.khaH1,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֧י'e.lo.HeiH430of Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֛ם'av.ra.HamH85,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֥י'e.lo.HeiH430of Isaacיִצְחָ֖קyitz.ChakH3327,and the Godוֵאלֹהֵ֣יve.lo.HeiH430of Jacobיַעֲקֹ֑בya.'a.KoH3290.”Then Mosesמֹשֶׁה֙mo.ShehH4872hidוַיַּסְתֵּ֤רvai.yas.TerH5641his faceפָּנָ֔יוpa.NavH6440, for he wasafraidיָרֵ֔אya.Re'H3372to lookמֵהַבִּ֖יטme.ha.BitH5027at Godהָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ha.'E.lo.HimH430.
7The Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “I have surelyרָאֹ֥הra.'OhH7200seenרָאִ֛יתִיra.'I.tiH7200the afflictionעֳנִ֥י'o.NiH6040of My peopleעַמִּ֖י'a.MiH5971whoאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834are in Egyptבְּמִצְרָ֑יִםbe.mitz.Ra.yimH4714,and have givenH8085heedH8085to their cryצַעֲקָתָ֤םtza.'a.ka.TamH6818becauseמִפְּנֵ֣יmi.pe.NeiH4480H6440of their taskmastersנֹֽגְשָׂ֔יוno.ge.SavH5065,for I am awareיָדַ֖עְתִּיya.Da'.tiH3045of their sufferingsמַכְאֹבָֽיו׃makh.'o.VavH4341.
8So I have comeוָאֵרֵ֞דva.'e.RedH3381downH3381to deliverלְהַצִּיל֣וֹ׀le.ha.tzi.LoH5337them from thepowerמִיַּ֣דmi.YadH3027of the Egyptiansמִצְרַ֗יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714,and to bringוּֽלְהַעֲלֹתוֹ֮u.le.ha.'a.lo.ToH5927them up from that landהָאָ֣רֶץha.'A.retzH776to agoodטוֹבָה֙to.VahH2896and spaciousוּרְחָבָ֔הu.re.cha.VahH7342landאֶ֤רֶץ'E.retzH776,to a landאֶ֛רֶץ'E.retzH776flowingזָבַ֥תza.VatH2100with milkחָלָ֖בcha.LavH2461and honeyוּדְבָ֑שׁu.de.VashH1706,to the placeמְק֤וֹםme.KomH4725ofthe Canaaniteהַֽכְּנַעֲנִי֙ha.ke.na.'a.NiH3669and the Hittiteוְהַ֣חִתִּ֔יve.Ha.chi.TiH2850and the Amoriteוְהָֽאֱמֹרִי֙ve.ha.'e.mo.RiH567and the Perizziteוְהַפְּרִזִּ֔יve.hap.pe.ri.ZiH6522and the Hiviteוְהַחִוִּ֖יve.ha.chi.ViH2340and the Jebusiteוְהַיְבוּסִֽי׃ve.hay.vu.SiH2983.
9Nowוְעַתָּ֕הve.'a.TahH6258,beholdהִנֵּ֛הhi.NehH2009,the cryצַעֲקַ֥תtza.'a.KatH6818of the sonsבְּנֵי־be.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478has comeבָּ֣אָהBa.'ahH935to Me; furthermoreוְגַם־ve.gam-H1571,I have seenרָאִ֙יתִי֙ra.'I.tiH7200the oppressionהַלַּ֔חַץha.La.chatzH3906with whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834the EgyptiansH4714are oppressingלֹחֲצִ֥יםlo.cha.TzimH3905them.
The Mission of Moses
10Therefore, comeלְכָ֔הle.KhahH1980nowוְעַתָּ֣הve.'a.TahH6258,and I will sendוְאֶֽשְׁלָחֲךָ֖ve.'esh.la.cha.KhaH7971you to Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֑הpar.'OhH6547,so that you may bringוְהוֹצֵ֛אve.ho.Tze'H3318My peopleעַמִּ֥י'a.MiH5971,the sonsבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478,out of Egyptמִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃mi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714.”
11But Mosesמֹשֶׁה֙mo.ShehH4872saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Godהָ֣אֱלֹהִ֔יםha.'E.lo.HimH430, “Whoמִ֣יmiH4310am I, that I should goאֵלֵ֖ךְ'e.LekhH1980to Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֑הpar.'OhH6547,and that I should bringאוֹצִ֛יא'o.Tzi'H3318the sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478out of Egyptמִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃mi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714?”
12And He saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559, “CertainlyH3588I will be with you, and thisוְזֶה־ve.zeh-H2088shall be the signהָא֔וֹתha.'otH226to you that it is I who have sentשְׁלַחְתִּ֑יךָshe.lach.Ti.khaH7971you:when you have broughtבְּהוֹצִֽיאֲךָ֤be.ho.tzi.'a.KhaH3318the peopleהָעָם֙ha.'AmH5971out of Egyptמִמִּצְרַ֔יִםmi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714, you shallworshipתַּֽעַבְדוּן֙ta.'av.DunH5647Godהָ֣אֱלֹהִ֔יםha.'E.lo.HimH430at thisהַזֶּֽה׃ha.ZehH2088mountainהָהָ֥רha.HarH2022.”
13Then Mosesמֹשֶׁ֜הmo.ShehH4872saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Godהָֽאֱלֹהִ֗יםha.'E.lo.HimH430, “Beholdהִנֵּ֨הhi.NehH2009,I am goingבָא֮va'H935to the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֒Yis.ra.'ElH3478,and I will sayוְאָמַרְתִּ֣יve.'a.mar.TiH559to them, ‘The Godאֱלֹהֵ֥י'e.lo.HeiH430of your fathersאֲבוֹתֵיכֶ֖ם'a.vo.tei.KhemH1has sentשְׁלָחַ֣נִיshe.la.Cha.niH7971me to you.’ Now they may sayוְאָֽמְרוּ־ve.'a.me.ru-H559to me, ‘Whatמַה־mah-H4100is His nameשְּׁמ֔וֹshe.MoH8034?’Whatמָ֥הmahH4100shall I sayאֹמַ֖ר'o.MarH559to them?”
14Godאֱלֹהִים֙'E.lo.HimH430saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Mosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872, “I AMאֶֽהְיֶ֖ה'eh.YehH1961WHOאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834I AMאֶֽהְיֶ֑ה'eh.YehH1961”;and He saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Thusכֹּ֤הkohH3541you shall sayתֹאמַר֙to.MarH559to the sonsלִבְנֵ֣יliv.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478, ‘I AMאֶֽהְיֶ֖ה'eh.YehH1961has sentשְׁלָחַ֥נִיshe.la.Cha.niH7971me to you.’”
15Godאֱלֹהִ֜ים'E.lo.HimH430,furthermoreע֨וֹדodH5750,saidוַיֹּאמֶר֩vai.yo.MerH559to Mosesמֹשֶׁ֗הmo.ShehH4872, “Thusכֹּֽה־koh-H3541you shall sayתֹאמַר֮to.MarH559to the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֒Yis.ra.'ElH3478, ‘The Lordיְהוָ֞הYah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of your fathersאֲבֹתֵיכֶ֗ם'a.vo.tei.KhemH1,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֨י'e.lo.HeiH430of Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֜ם'av.ra.HamH85,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֥י'e.lo.HeiH430of Isaacיִצְחָ֛קyitz.ChakH3327,and the Godוֵאלֹהֵ֥יve.lo.HeiH430of Jacobיַעֲקֹ֖בya.'a.KoH3290,has sentשְׁלָחַ֣נִיshe.la.Cha.niH7971me to you.’ Thisזֶה־zeh-H2088is My nameשְּׁמִ֣יshe.MiH8034foreverלְעֹלָ֔םle.'o.LamH5769,and thisוְזֶ֥הve.ZehH2088is Mymemorial-nameזִכְרִ֖יzikh.RiH2143to allלְדֹ֥רle.DorH1755generationsדֹּֽר׃DorH1755.
16Goלֵ֣ךְlekhH1980andgatherוְאָֽסַפְתָּ֞ve.'a.saf.TaH622the eldersזִקְנֵ֣יzik.NeiH2205of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478together and sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֤ve.'a.mar.TaH559to them, ‘The Lordיְהוָ֞הYah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֤י'e.lo.HeiH430of your fathersאֲבֹֽתֵיכֶם֙'a.vo.tei.KhemH1,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֧י'e.lo.HeiH430of Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֛ם'av.ra.HamH85,Isaacיִצְחָ֥קyitz.ChakH3327and Jacobוְיַעֲקֹ֖בve.ya.'a.KoH3290,has appearedנִרְאָ֣הnir.'AhH7200to me, sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559, “I amH6485indeedH6485concernedH6485about you and what has been doneהֶעָשׂ֥וּיhe.'a.SuiH6213to you in Egyptבְּמִצְרָֽיִם׃be.mitz.Ra.yimH4714.

18They willpayH8085heedH8085to whatH6963you sayH6963; andyou with the eldersוְזִקְנֵ֨יve.zik.NeiH2205of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֜לYis.ra.'ElH3478will comeוּבָאתָ֡u.va.TaH935to the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Egyptמִצְרַ֗יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714and you will sayוַאֲמַרְתֶּ֤םva.'a.mar.TemH559to him, ‘The Lordיְהוָ֞הYah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֤י'e.lo.HeiH430of the Hebrewsהָֽעִבְרִיִּים֙ha.'iv.ri.YimH5680,has metנִקְרָ֣הnik.RahH7136with us. So nowוְעַתָּ֗הve.'a.TahH6258,pleaseנָּ֞אna'H4994,let us goנֵֽלֲכָה־ne.la.khah-H1980athreeשְׁלֹ֤שֶׁתshe.Lo.shetH7969days’יָמִים֙ya.MimH3117journeyדֶּ֣רֶךְDe.rekhH1870into the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֔רba.mid.BarH4057,that we may sacrificeוְנִזְבְּחָ֖הve.niz.be.ChahH2076to the Lordלַֽיהוָ֥הla.Yah.wehH3068our Godאֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃'e.lo.Hei.nuH430.’
20So I will stretchוְשָׁלַחְתִּ֤יve.sha.lach.TiH7971outMy handיָדִי֙ya.DiH3027and strikeוְהִכֵּיתִ֣יve.hi.kei.TiH5221EgyptH4714with allבְּכֹל֙be.KholH3605Mymiraclesנִפְלְאֹתַ֔יnif.le.'o.TaiH6381whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834I shall doאֶֽעֱשֶׂ֖ה'e.'e.SehH6213in the midstבְּקִרְבּ֑וֹbe.kir.BoH7130of it; andafterוְאַחֲרֵי־ve.'a.cha.rei-H310that he will let you goיְשַׁלַּ֥חye.sha.LachH7971.
22But every womanאִשָּׁ֤ה'i.ShahH802shall askוְשָׁאֲלָ֨הve.sha.'a.LahH7592of her neighborמִשְּׁכֶנְתָּהּ֙mi.she.khen.TahH7934and the woman who livesוּמִגָּרַ֣תu.mi.ga.RatH1481in her houseבֵּיתָ֔הּbei.TahH1004,articlesכְּלֵי־ke.lei-H3627of silverכֶ֛סֶףKhe.sefH3701and articlesוּכְלֵ֥יu.khe.LeiH3627of goldזָהָ֖בza.HavH2091,and clothingוּשְׂמָלֹ֑תu.se.ma.LotH8071;and you will putוְשַׂמְתֶּ֗םve.sam.TemH7760them on your sonsבְּנֵיכֶם֙be.nei.KhemH1121and daughtersבְּנֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔םbe.No.tei.KhemH1323. Thus you willplunderוְנִצַּלְתֶּ֖םve.ni.tzal.TemH5337the EgyptiansH4714.”
