The Blessing of Moses

2He saidוַיֹּאמַ֗רvai.yo.MarH559, “The Lordיְהוָ֞הYah.wehH3068cameבָּא֙ba'H935from Sinaiמִסִּינַ֥יmi.si.NaiH5514, Anddawnedוְזָרַ֤חve.za.RachH2224on them from Seirמִשֵּׂעִיר֙mi.se.'IrH8165;He shoneH3313forthהוֹפִ֙יעַ֙ho.Fi.a'H3313from Mountמֵהַ֣רme.HarH2022Paranפָּארָ֔ןpa.RanH6290,And He cameוְאָתָ֖הve.'a.TahH857from themidst of tenH7233thousandמֵרִבְבֹ֣תme.ri.VotH7233holyקֹ֑דֶשׁKo.deshH6944onesH6944;At His rightמִֽימִינ֕וֹmi.mi.NoH3225handH3225there wasflashingH799lightningH799for them.

3Indeedאַ֚ף'afH637,He lovesחֹבֵ֣בcho.VevH2245the peopleעַמִּ֔ים'a.MimH5971;Allכָּל־kol-H3605Your holyקְדֹשָׁ֖יוke.do.ShavH6918onesH6918are in Your handבְּיָדֶ֑ךָbe.ya.De.khaH3027, And theyfollowedתֻּכּ֣וּtu.KuH8497in Your stepsלְרַגְלֶ֔ךָle.rag.Le.khaH7272; Everyonereceivesיִשָּׂ֖אyi.Sa'H5375of Your wordsמִדַּבְּרֹתֶֽיךָ׃mi.da.be.ro.Tei.khaH1703.

4Mosesמֹשֶׁ֑הmo.ShehH4872chargedצִוָּה־tzi.vah-H6680us with a lawתּוֹרָ֥הto.RahH8451,A possessionמוֹרָשָׁ֖הmo.ra.ShahH4181for the assemblyקְהִלַּ֥תke.hi.LatH6952of Jacobיַעֲקֹֽב׃ya.'a.KoH3290.

5And He was kingמֶ֑לֶךְMe.lekhH4428in Jeshurunבִישֻׁר֖וּןvi.shu.RunH3484,When the headsרָ֣אשֵׁיRa.sheiH7218of the peopleעָ֔ם'AmH5971were gatheredבְּהִתְאַסֵּף֙be.hit.'a.SefH622,The tribesשִׁבְטֵ֥יshiv.TeiH7626of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478togetherיַ֖חַדYa.chadH3162.

6“May Reubenרְאוּבֵ֖ןre.'u.VenH7205liveיְחִ֥יye.ChiH2421and not dieיָמֹ֑תya.MotH4191,Norוְאַל־ve.'al-H408his menמְתָ֖יוme.TavH4962be fewמִסְפָּֽר׃ סmis.ParH4557.”

7And thisH2088regarding Judahלִֽיהוּדָה֮li.hu.DahH3063;so he saidוַיֹּאמַר֒vai.yo.MarH559, “Hearשְׁמַ֤עshe.Ma'H8085, O Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068,the voiceק֣וֹלKolH6963of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063,And bringתְּבִיאֶ֑נּוּte.vi.'E.nuH935him to his peopleעַמּ֖וֹa.MoH5971.With his handsיָדָיו֙ya.DavH3027he contendedרָ֣בravH7378for them,And may You be a helpוְעֵ֥זֶרve.'E.zerH5828againstH4480his adversariesמִצָּרָ֖יוmi.tza.RavH6862.”

8Of Leviוּלְלֵוִ֣יu.le.le.ViH3878he saidאָמַ֔ר'a.MarH559, “Let YourThummimתֻּמֶּ֥יךָtu.Mei.khaH8550and Your Urimוְאוּרֶ֖יךָve.'u.Rei.khaH224belong to Yourgodlyחֲסִידֶ֑ךָcha.si.De.khaH2623manלְאִ֣ישׁle.'IshH376,Whomאֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834You provedנִסִּיתוֹ֙ni.si.ToH5254at Massahבְּמַסָּ֔הbe.ma.SahH4532,With whom You contendedתְּרִיבֵ֖הוּte.ri.Ve.huH7378at the watersמֵ֥יmeiH4325of Meribahמְרִיבָֽה׃me.ri.VahH4809;

9Who saidהָאֹמֵ֞רha.'o.MerH559of his fatherלְאָבִ֤יוle.'a.VivH1and his motherוּלְאִמּוֹ֙u.le.'i.MoH517, ‘I did not considerרְאִיתִ֔יוre.'i.TivH7200them’;And he did not acknowledgeהִכִּ֔ירhi.KirH5234his brothersאֶחָיו֙'e.ChavH251,NorH3808did he regardיָדָ֑עya.Da'H3045his own sonsבָּנָ֖יוba.novH1121, Forthey observedשָֽׁמְרוּ֙sha.me.RuH8104Your wordאִמְרָתֶ֔ךָ'im.ra.Te.khaH565,And keptיִנְצֹֽרוּ׃yin.Tzo.ruH5341Your covenantוּבְרִֽיתְךָ֖u.ve.ri.te.KhaH1285.

10They shall teachיוֹר֤וּyo.RuH3384Your ordinancesמִשְׁפָּטֶ֙יךָ֙mish.pa.Tei.khaH4941to Jacobלְיַעֲקֹ֔בle.ya.'a.KoH3290,And Your lawוְתוֹרָתְךָ֖ve.to.ra.te.KhaH8451to Israelלְיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לle.Yis.ra.'ElH3478.They shall putיָשִׂ֤ימוּya.Si.muH7760incenseקְטוֹרָה֙ke.to.RahH6988beforeבְּאַפֶּ֔ךָbe.'a.Pe.khaH639You, Andwholeוְכָלִ֖ילve.kha.LilH3632burntH3632offeringsH3632on Your altarמִזְבְּחֶֽךָ׃miz.be.Che.khaH4196.

11O Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068,blessבָּרֵ֤ךְba.RekhH1288his substanceחֵיל֔וֹchei.LoH2428,And acceptתִּרְצֶ֑הtir.TzehH7521the workוּפֹ֥עַלu.Fo.'alH6467of his handsיָדָ֖יוya.DavH3027;Shatterמְחַ֨ץme.ChatzH4272the loinsמָתְנַ֧יִםma.te.Na.yimH4975of those who riseקָמָ֛יוka.MavH6965up against him,And those who hateוּמְשַׂנְאָ֖יוu.me.san.'AvH8130him, soמִן־min-H4480that they will not riseיְקוּמֽוּן׃ סye.ku.MunH6965again.”

12Of Benjaminלְבִנְיָמִ֣ןle.vin.ya.MinH1144he saidאָמַ֔ר'a.MarH559, “May the belovedיְדִ֣ידye.DidH3039of the Lordיְהֹוָ֔הYah.wehH3068dwellיִשְׁכֹּ֥ןyish.KonH7931in securityלָבֶ֖טַחla.Ve.tachH983by Him,Who shieldsחֹפֵ֤ףcho.FefH2653him allכָּל־kol-H3605the dayהַיּ֔וֹםhai.YomH3117,And he dwellsשָׁכֵֽן׃ סsha.KhenH7931betweenוּבֵ֥יןu.VeinH996His shouldersכְּתֵיפָ֖יוke.tei.FavH3802.”

13Of Josephוּלְיוֹסֵ֣ףu.le.yo.SefH3130he saidאָמַ֔ר'a.MarH559, “Blessedמְבֹרֶ֥כֶתme.vo.Re.khetH1288of the Lordיְהֹוָ֖הYah.wehH3068behis landאַרְצ֑וֹ'ar.TzoH776,With the choiceH4022thingsH4022of heavenשָׁמַ֙יִם֙sha.Ma.yimH8064,with the dewמִטָּ֔לmi.TalH2919,And from the deepוּמִתְּה֖וֹםu.mi.te.HomH8415lyingרֹבֶ֥צֶתro.Ve.tzetH7257beneathתָּֽחַת׃Ta.chatH8478,

14And with the choiceוּמִמֶּ֖גֶדu.mi.Me.gedH4022yieldתְּבוּאֹ֣תte.vu.'OtH8393of the sunשָׁ֑מֶשׁSha.meshH8121,And with the choiceוּמִמֶּ֖גֶדu.mi.Me.gedH4022produceגֶּ֥רֶשׁGe.reshH1645of the monthsיְרָחִֽים׃ye.ra.ChimH3391.

15And with thebestH7218thingsH7218ofthe ancientקֶ֑דֶםKe.demH6924mountainsH2022,And with the choiceH4022thingsH4022of the everlastingעוֹלָֽם׃o.LamH5769hillsגִּבְע֥וֹתgiv.'otH1389,

16And with the choiceH4022thingsH4022of the earthאֶ֚רֶץ'E.retzH776and its fullnessוּמְלֹאָ֔הּu.me.lo.'AhH4393,And the favorוּרְצ֥וֹןu.re.TzonH7522of Him who dweltשֹׁכְנִ֖יsho.khe.NiH7931in the bushסְנֶ֑הse.NehH5572.Let it comeתָּב֙וֹאתָה֙ta.Vo.tahH935to the headלְרֹ֣אשׁle.RoshH7218of Josephיוֹסֵ֔ףyo.SefH3130,And to the crownH6936of the headH6936of the oneH5139distinguishedH5139among his brothersאֶחָֽיו׃'e.ChavH251.

17As the firstbornבְּכ֨וֹרbe.KhorH1060of his oxשׁוֹר֜וֹsho.RoH7794,majestyהָדָ֣רha.DarH1926is his,And his hornsוְקַרְנֵ֤יve.kar.NeiH7161are the hornsקַרְנָ֔יוkar.NavH7161ofthe wildרְאֵם֙re.'EmH7214oxH7214; With them he willpushיְנַגַּ֥חye.na.GachH5055the peoplesעַמִּ֛ים'a.MimH5971,AllH3164at onceH3164, tothe endsאַפְסֵי־'af.sei-H657of the earthאָ֑רֶץ'A.retzH776.And thoseוְהֵם֙ve.HemH1992are the tenH7233thousandsרִבְב֣וֹתri.VotH7233of Ephraimאֶפְרַ֔יִם'ef.Ra.yimH669,And thoseוְהֵ֖םve.HemH1992are the thousandsאַלְפֵ֥י'al.FeiH505of Manassehמְנַשֶּֽׁה׃ סme.na.ShehH4519.”

18Of Zebulunוְלִזְבוּלֻ֣ןve.liz.vu.LunH2074he saidאָמַ֔ר'a.MarH559, “Rejoiceשְׂמַ֥חse.MachH8055,Zebulunזְבוּלֻ֖ןze.vu.LunH2074,in your goingH3318forthH3318,And, Issacharוְיִשָּׂשכָ֖רve.yi.so.sh.KharH3485,in your tentsבְּאֹהָלֶֽיךָ׃be.'o.ha.Lei.khaH168.

19They will callיִקְרָ֔אוּyik.Ra.'uH7121peoplesעַמִּים֙'a.MimH5971tothe mountainהַר־har-H2022;Thereשָׁ֖םshamH8033they will offerיִזְבְּח֣וּyiz.be.ChuH2076righteousצֶ֑דֶקTze.dekH6664sacrificesזִבְחֵי־ziv.chei-H2077; For they willdrawיִינָ֔קוּyi.Na.kuH3243outthe abundanceשֶׁ֤פַעShe.fa'H8228of the seasיַמִּים֙ya.MimH3220,And the hiddenטְמ֥וּנֵיte.Mu.neiH2934treasuresH5603of the sandחֽוֹל׃ סCholH2344.”

20Of Gadוּלְגָ֣דu.le.GadH1410he saidאָמַ֔ר'a.MarH559, “Blessedבָּר֖וּךְba.RukhH1288is the one who enlargesמַרְחִ֣יבmar.ChivH7337Gadגָּ֑דGadH1410;He liesH7931downH7931as alionכְּלָבִ֣יאke.la.Vi'H3833,And tearsוְטָרַ֥ףve.ta.RafH2963the armזְר֖וֹעַze.Ro.a'H2220,alsoאַף־'af-H637the crownH6936of the headH6936.

21Then heprovidedוַיַּ֤רְאvai.Yar'H7200the firstרֵאשִׁית֙re.ShitH7225part for himself,For thereשָׁ֛םshamH8033the ruler’sמְחֹקֵ֖קme.cho.KekH2710portionחֶלְקַ֥תchel.KatH2513wasreservedסָפ֑וּןsa.FunH5603;And he cameוַיֵּתֵא֙vai.ye.Te'H857withthe leadersרָ֣אשֵׁיRa.sheiH7218of the peopleעָ֔ם'AmH5971;He executedעָשָׂ֔ה'a.SahH6213the justiceצִדְקַ֤תtzid.KatH6666of the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068,And His ordinancesוּמִשְׁפָּטָ֖יוu.mish.pa.TavH4941with Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ סYis.ra.'ElH3478.”

22Of Danוּלְדָ֣ןu.le.DanH1835he saidאָמַ֔ר'a.MarH559, “Danדָּ֖ןdanH1835isa lion’sH743whelpגּ֣וּרgurH1482,That leapsיְזַנֵּ֖קye.za.NekH2187forth from Bashanהַבָּשָֽׁן׃ha.ba.ShanH1316.”

23Of Naphtaliוּלְנַפְתָּלִ֣יu.le.naf.ta.LiH5321he saidאָמַ֔ר'a.MarH559, “O Naphtaliנַפְתָּלִי֙naf.ta.LiH5321,satisfiedשְׂבַ֣עse.Va'H7649with favorרָצ֔וֹןra.TzonH7522,And fullוּמָלֵ֖אu.ma.Le'H4392of the blessingבִּרְכַּ֣תbir.KatH1293of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,Takeיְרָֽשָׁה׃ סye.Ra.shahH3423possessionH3423of the seaיָ֥םyamH3220and the southוְדָר֖וֹםve.da.RomH1864.”

24Of Asherוּלְאָשֵׁ֣רu.le.'a.SherH836he saidאָמַ֔ר'a.MarH559, “MoreH4480blessedבָּר֥וּךְba.RukhH1288thanH4480sonsמִבָּנִ֖יםmi.ba.NimH1121is Asherאָשֵׁ֑ר'a.SherH836;May he be favoredרְצוּי֙re.TzuiH7521by his brothersאֶחָ֔יו'e.ChavH251,And may he dipוְטֹבֵ֥לve.to.VelH2881his footרַגְלֽוֹ׃rag.LoH7272in oilבַּשֶּׁ֖מֶןba.She.menH8081.

25Your locksמִנְעָלֶ֑יךָmin.'a.Lei.khaH4515will be ironבַּרְזֶ֥לbar.ZelH1270and bronzeוּנְחֹ֖שֶׁתu.ne.Cho.shetH5178,And according to your daysוּכְיָמֶ֖יךָu.khe.ya.Mei.khaH3117,so will your leisurelyH1679walkH1679be.

26“ThereH369is noneH369like the Godכָּאֵ֖לka.'ElH410ofJeshurunיְשֻׁר֑וּןye.shu.RunH3484,Who ridesרֹכֵ֤בro.KhevH7392the heavensשָׁמַ֙יִם֙sha.Ma.yimH8064to your helpבְעֶזְרֶ֔ךָve.'ez.Re.khaH5828,And through the skiesשְׁחָקִֽים׃she.cha.KimH7834in His majestyוּבְגַאֲוָת֖וֹu.ve.ga.'a.va.ToH1346.

27The eternalקֶ֔דֶםKe.demH6924Godאֱלֹ֣הֵי'e.Lo.heiH430is adwellingH4585placeH4585,And underneathוּמִתַּ֖חַתu.mi.Ta.chatH8478are the everlastingעוֹלָ֑םo.LamH5769armsזְרֹעֹ֣תze.ro.'OtH2220;And He droveוַיְגָ֧רֶשׁvay.Ga.reshH1644out the enemyH340from beforeמִפָּנֶ֛יךָmi.pa.Nei.khaH4480 H6440you,And saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, ‘Destroyהַשְׁמֵֽד׃hash.MedH8045!’

28So Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֨לYis.ra.'ElH3478dwellsוַיִּשְׁכֹּן֩vai.yish.KonH7931in securityבֶּ֤טַחBe.tachH983,The fountainH5871of Jacobיַעֲקֹ֔בya.'a.KoH3290secludedבָּדָד֙ba.DadH910,In a landאֶ֖רֶץ'E.retzH776of grainדָּגָ֣ןda.GanH1715and newוְתִיר֑וֹשׁve.ti.Ro.oshH8492wineH8492;His heavensשָׁמָ֖יוsha.MavH8064alsoאַף־'af-H637dropיַֽעַרְפוּYa.'ar.fuH6201downH6201dewטָֽל׃TalH2919.

29Blessedאַשְׁרֶ֨יךָ'ash.Rei.khaH835are you, O Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֜לYis.ra.'ElH3478;Whoמִ֣יmiH4310is likeכָמ֗וֹךָkha.Mo.khaH3644you, a peopleעַ֚ם'amH5971savedנוֹשַׁ֣עno.Sha'H3467by the Lordבַּֽיהוָ֔הba.Yah.wehH3068,Who is the shieldמָגֵ֣ןma.GenH4043of your helpעֶזְרֶ֔ךָ'ez.Re.khaH5828And the swordחֶ֖רֶבChe.revH2719of your majestyגַּאֲוָתֶ֑ךָga.'a.va.Te.khaH1346!So your enemiesH340will cringeוְיִכָּֽחֲשׁ֤וּve.yi.ka.cha.ShuH3584before you,And you will treadתִדְרֹֽךְ׃ סtid.RokhH1869upon their highבָּמוֹתֵ֥ימוֹba.mo.Tei.movH1116placesH1116.”
