2And the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068spokeוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to me, sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

3‘You have circledסֹ֖בsoH5437thisהַזֶּ֑הha.ZehH2088mountainהָהָ֣רha.HarH2022longH7227enoughרַב־rav-H7227. Nowturnפְּנ֥וּpe.NuH6437northצָפֹֽנָה׃tza.Fo.nahH6828,

4and commandצַ֣וtzavH6680the peopleהָעָם֮ha.'AmH5971,sayingלֵאמֹר֒le.MorH559, “You will passעֹֽבְרִ֗ים'oe.RimH5674through theterritoryבִּגְבוּל֙big.VulH1366of your brothersאֲחֵיכֶ֣ם'a.chei.KhemH251the sonsבְּנֵי־be.nei-H1121of Esauעֵשָׂ֔ו'e.SavH6215who liveהַיֹּשְׁבִ֖יםhai.yo.she.VimH3427in Seirבְּשֵׂעִ֑ירbe.se.'IrH8165; andthey will be afraidוְיִֽירְא֣וּve.yi.re.'UH3372of you. 6You shall buyתִּשְׁבְּר֧וּtish.be.RuH7666foodאֹ֣כֶל'O.khelH400from them with moneyבַּכֶּ֖סֶףba.Ke.sefH3701so that you may eatוַאֲכַלְתֶּ֑םva.'a.khal.TemH398,and you shall alsoוְגַם־ve.gam-H1571purchaseתִּכְר֧וּtikh.RuH3739waterמַ֜יִםMa.yimH4325from them with moneyבַּכֶּ֖סֶףba.Ke.sefH3701so that you may drinkוּשְׁתִיתֶֽם׃u.she.ti.TemH8354.

7For the Lordיְהוָ֨הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֶ֜יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430has blessedבֵּֽרַכְךָ֗be.rakh.KhaH1288you in allבְּכֹל֙be.KholH3605that you have doneיָדֶ֔ךָya.De.khaH3027;He has knownיָדַ֣עya.Da'H3045yourwanderingsלֶכְתְּךָ֔lekh.te.KhaH1980through thisהַזֶּ֑הha.ZehH2088greatהַגָּדֹ֖לha.ga.DolH1419wildernessהַמִּדְבָּ֥רha.mid.BarH4057.Theseזֶ֣ה׀zehH2088fortyאַרְבָּעִ֣ים'ar.ba.'ImH705yearsשָׁנָ֗הsha.NahH8141the Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙'e.lo.Hei.khaH430has been with you; you have not lackedחָסַ֖רְתָּcha.Sar.taH2637a thingדָּבָֽר׃da.VarH1697.”’

9Then the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to me, ‘Do not harassתָּ֙צַר֙ta.tzarH6696Moabמוֹאָ֔בmo.'AvH4124,norוְאַל־ve.'al-H408provokeתִּתְגָּ֥רtit.GarH1624them to warמִלְחָמָ֑הmil.cha.MahH4421,for I will not giveאֶתֵּ֨ן'e.TenH5414you anyH4480oftheir landמֵֽאַרְצוֹ֙me.'ar.TzoH776as a possessionיְרֻשָּׁ֔הye.ru.ShahH3425,becauseH3588I have givenנָתַ֥תִּיna.Ta.tiH5414Arעָ֖ר'arH6144tothe sonsלִבְנֵי־liv.nei-H1121of Lotל֔וֹטLotH3876as a possessionיְרֻשָּֽׁה׃ye.ru.shahH3425.’

11Like the Anakimכָּעֲנָקִ֑יםka.'a.na.KimH6062,they are alsoאַף־'af-H637regardedיֵחָשְׁב֥וּye.cha.she.VuH2803asRephaimרְפָאִ֛יםre.fa.'ImH7497,but the Moabitesוְהַמֹּ֣אָבִ֔יםve.ha.Mo.'a.VimH4125callיִקְרְא֥וּyik.re.'UH7121them Emimאֵמִֽים׃'e.MimH368.

12The Horitesהַחֹרִים֮ha.cho.RimH2752formerlyלְפָנִים֒le.fa.NimH6440livedיָשְׁב֣וּya.she.VuH3427in Seirוּבְשֵׂעִ֞ירu.ve.se.'IrH8165,but the sonsוּבְנֵ֧יu.ve.NeiH1121of Esauעֵשָׂ֣ו'e.SavH6215dispossessedיִֽירָשׁ֗וּםyi.ra.ShumH3423them and destroyedוַיַּשְׁמִידוּם֙vai.yash.mi.DumH8045them from beforeמִפְּנֵיהֶ֔םmi.pe.nei.HemH6440them and settledוַיֵּשְׁב֖וּvai.ye.she.VuH3427in their placeתַּחְתָּ֑םtach.TamH8478,justH3512as Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478didעָשָׂ֣ה'a.SahH6213to the landלְאֶ֙רֶץ֙le.'E.retzH776oftheir possessionיְרֻשָּׁת֔וֹye.ru.sha.ToH3425whichH834the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068gaveנָתַ֥ןna.TanH5414to them.)

13‘Nowעַתָּ֗ה'a.TahH6258ariseקֻ֛מוּKu.muH6965and crossH5674overH5674thebrookנַ֣חַלNa.chalH5158Zeredזָ֑רֶדZa.redH2218yourselves.’ So we crossedH5674overH5674thebrookנַ֥חַלNa.chalH5158Zeredזָֽרֶד׃Za.redH2218.

14Now thetimeוְהַיָּמִ֞יםve.hai.ya.MimH3117that it tookH1980for us to comeH1980from Kadesh-barneaH6947untilעַ֤ד'adH5704 H834we crossedH5674overH5674thebrookנַ֣חַלNa.chalH5158Zeredזֶ֔רֶדZe.redH2218wasthirty-eightשְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים וּשְׁמֹנֶ֖הshe.lo.Shim u.she.mo.NehH7970 H8083yearsשָׁנָ֑הsha.NahH8141,untilעַד־'ad-H5704allכָּל־kol-H3605the generationהַדּ֜וֹרha.DorH1755of the menH376of warהַמִּלְחָמָה֙ha.mil.cha.MahH4421perishedתֹּ֨םtomH8552from withinמִקֶּ֣רֶבmi.Ke.revH7130the campהַֽמַּחֲנֶ֔הha.ma.cha.NehH4264, asthe Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068had swornנִשְׁבַּ֥עnish.Ba'H7650to them.

15Moreoverוְגַ֤םve.GamH1571the handיַד־yad-H3027of the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068was against them, to destroyלְהֻמָּ֖םle.hu.MamH2000them from withinמִקֶּ֣רֶבmi.Ke.revH7130the campהַֽמַּחֲנֶ֑הha.ma.cha.NehH4264untilעַ֖ד'adH5704they all perishedתֻּמָּֽם׃tu.MamH8552.

16“So it cameוַיְהִ֨יvay.HiH1961about whenH3512allכָּל־kol-H3605the menH376of warהַמִּלְחָמָ֛הha.mil.cha.MahH4421had finallyH8552perishedלָמ֖וּתla.MutH8552 H4191from amongמִקֶּ֥רֶבmi.Ke.revH7130the peopleהָעָֽם׃ סha.'AmH5971,

17that the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068spokeוַיְדַבֵּ֥רvay.da.BerH1696to me, sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

18‘Todayהַיּ֛וֹםhai.YomH3117you shall crossH5674overH5674Arעָֽר׃'ArH6144,the borderגְּב֥וּלge.VulH1366of Moabמוֹאָ֖בmo.'AvH4124.

19When you comeוְקָרַבְתָּ֗ve.ka.rav.TaH7126oppositeמ֚וּלmulH4136thesonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Ammonעַמּ֔וֹןa.MonH5983,do not harassתְּצֻרֵ֖םte.tzu.RemH6696them norH408provokeתִּתְגָּ֣רtit.GarH1624them, for I will not giveאֶ֠תֵּן'E.tenH5414you anyH4480of the landמֵאֶ֨רֶץme.'E.retzH776of the sonsבְּנֵי־be.nei-H1121of Ammonעַמּ֤וֹןa.MonH5983as a possessionיְרֻשָּׁ֔הye.ru.ShahH3425,becauseH3588I have givenנְתַתִּ֥יהָne.ta.Ti.haH5414it tothe sonsלִבְנֵי־liv.nei-H1121of Lotל֖וֹטLotH3876as a possessionיְרֻשָּֽׁה׃ye.ru.ShahH3425.’

20(It is alsoאַף־'af-H637regardedתֵּחָשֵׁ֖בte.cha.ShevH2803as the landאֶֽרֶץ־'e.retz-H776of theRephaimרְפָאִ֥יםre.fa.'ImH7497, forRephaimרְפָאִ֤יםre.fa.'ImH7497formerlyלְפָנִ֔יםle.fa.NimH6440livedיָֽשְׁבוּ־ya.she.vu-H3427in it, but the Ammonitesוְהָֽעַמֹּנִ֔יםve.ha.'a.mo.NimH5984callיִקְרְא֥וּyik.re.'UH7121them Zamzumminזַמְזֻמִּֽים׃zam.zu.MimH2157,

21a peopleעַ֣ם'amH5971as greatגָּד֥וֹלga.DolH1419,numerousוְרַ֛בve.RavH7227,and tallוָרָ֖םva.RamH7311as the Anakimכָּעֲנָקִ֑יםka.'a.na.KimH6062,but the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068destroyedוַיַּשְׁמִידֵ֤םvai.yash.mi.DemH8045them beforeמִפְּנֵיהֶ֔םmi.pe.nei.HemH6440them. And they dispossessedוַיִּירָשֻׁ֖םvai.yi.ra.ShumH3423them and settledוַיֵּשְׁב֥וּvai.ye.she.VuH3427in their placeתַחְתָּֽם׃tach.TamH8478,

22justH3512as He didעָשָׂה֙'a.SahH6213for the sonsלִבְנֵ֣יliv.NeiH1121of Esauעֵשָׂ֔ו'e.SavH6215, wholiveהַיֹּשְׁבִ֖יםhai.yo.she.VimH3427in Seirבְּשֵׂעִ֑ירbe.se.'IrH8165,whenH834He destroyedהִשְׁמִ֤ידhish.MidH8045the Horitesהַחֹרִי֙ha.cho.RiH2752from beforeמִפְּנֵיהֶ֔םmi.pe.nei.HemH6440them; they dispossessedוַיִּֽירָשֻׁם֙vai.yi.ra.ShumH3423them and settledוַיֵּשְׁב֣וּvai.ye.she.VuH3427in their placeתַחְתָּ֔םtach.TamH8478evenעַ֖ד'adH5704to thisהַזֶּֽה׃ha.ZehH2088dayהַיּ֥וֹםhai.YomH3117.

23And theAvvimוְהָֽעַוִּ֛יםve.ha.'a.VimH5761,who livedהַיֹּשְׁבִ֥יםhai.yo.she.VimH3427in villagesבַּחֲצֵרִ֖יםba.cha.tze.RimH2691as farעַד־'ad-H5704as Gazaעַזָּ֑ה'a.ZahH5804, theCaphtorimכַּפְתֹּרִים֙kaf.to.RimH3732who cameהַיֹּצְאִ֣יםhai.yo.tze.'ImH3318fromCaphtorמִכַּפְתּ֔וֹרmi.kaf.TorH3731,destroyedהִשְׁמִידֻ֖םhish.mi.DumH8045them and livedוַיֵּשְׁב֥וּvai.ye.she.VuH3427in their placeתַחְתָּֽם׃tach.TamH8478.)

24‘Ariseק֣וּמוּKu.muH6965,setסְּע֗וּse.'UH5265out, and passוְעִבְרוּ֮ve.'iv.RuH5674throughH5674thevalleyנַ֣חַלNa.chalH5158of Arnonאַרְנֹן֒'ar.NonH769.Lookרְאֵ֣הre.'EhH7200!I have givenנָתַ֣תִּיna.Ta.tiH5414Sihonסִיחֹ֨ןsi.ChonH5511the Amoriteהָֽאֱמֹרִ֛יha.'e.mo.RiH567,kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Heshbonחֶשְׁבּ֧וֹןchesh.BonH2809,and his landאַרְצ֖וֹ'ar.TzoH776into your handבְ֠יָדְךָVe.ya.de.khaH3027;beginהָחֵ֣לha.ChelH2490to takeרָ֑שׁRashH3423possessionH3423and contendוְהִתְגָּ֥רve.hit.GarH1624with him in battleמִלְחָמָֽה׃mil.cha.MahH4421.

26“So I sentוָאֶשְׁלַ֤חva.'esh.LachH7971messengersמַלְאָכִים֙mal.'a.KhimH4397from the wildernessמִמִּדְבַּ֣רmi.mid.BarH4057of Kedemothקְדֵמ֔וֹתke.de.MotH6932to Sihonסִיח֖וֹןsi.ChonH5511kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Heshbonחֶשְׁבּ֑וֹןchesh.BonH2809with wordsדִּבְרֵ֥יdiv.ReiH1697of peaceשָׁל֖וֹםsha.LomH7965,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

27‘Let me passאֶעְבְּרָ֣ה'e'.be.RahH5674through your landבְאַרְצֶ֔ךָve.'ar.Tze.khaH776, I willtravelאֵלֵ֑ךְ'e.LekhH1980only on the highwayH1870;I will not turnאָס֖וּר'a.SurH5493asideH5493to the rightיָמִ֥יןya.MinH3225or to the leftוּשְׂמֹֽאול׃u.se.MolH8040.

31The Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to me, ‘Seeרְאֵ֗הre.'EhH7200,I have begunהַֽחִלֹּ֙תִי֙ha.chi.Lo.tiH2490to deliverתֵּ֣תtetH5414Sihonסִיחֹ֖ןsi.ChonH5511and his landאַרְצ֑וֹ'ar.TzoH776overלְפָנֶ֔יךָle.fa.Nei.khaH6440to you. Beginהָחֵ֣לha.ChelH2490tooccupyרָ֔שׁRashH3423,that you may possessלָרֶ֖שֶׁתla.Re.shetH3423his landאַרְצֽוֹ׃'ar.TzoH776.’

32“Then Sihonסִיחֹ֨ןsi.ChonH5511with allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605his peopleעַמּ֛וֹa.MoH5971cameוַיֵּצֵא֩vai.ye.Tze'H3318out to meetלִקְרָאתֵ֜נוּlik.ra.Te.nuH7122us in battleלַמִּלְחָמָ֖הla.mil.cha.MahH4421at Jahazיָֽהְצָה׃Ya.he.tzahH3096.

33The Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068our Godאֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ'e.lo.Hei.nuH430deliveredוַֽיִּתְּנֵ֛הוּvai.yi.te.Ne.huH5414himoverלְפָנֵ֑ינוּle.fa.Nei.nuH6440to us, and wedefeatedוַנַּ֥ךְva.NakhH5221him with his sonsבָּנָ֖יוbe.novH1121and allכָּל־kol-H3605his peopleעַמּֽוֹ׃a.MoH5971.
