James 4:1-5
Whence [come] warsG4171 and whence fightings among you? [Is it] not thence, — from your pleasures, which warG4171 in your membersG3196?
Ye lust and have not: ye kill and are full of envy, and cannot obtain; ye fight and warG4170; ye have not because ye askG154 not.
Ye askG154 and receiveG2983 not, because ye askG154 evilly, that ye may consume [it] in your pleasures.
Adulteresses, know ye not that friendship with the worldG2889 isG1510 enmity with 1GodG2316? Whoever thereforeG3767 isG1510 minded to beG1510 [the] friendG5384 of the worldG2889 isG1510 constituted enemyG2190 of 2GodG2316.
ThinkG1380 ye that the scriptureG1124 speaksG3004 in vain? Does the SpiritG4151 which has taken his abode in us desire enviously?
