Ecclesiastes 6:1-9

There is an evilH7451 that I have seenH7200 under the sunH8121, and it is frequent among menH120:

oneH376 to whom 1GodH430 giveth richesH6239, wealthH6239, and honour, and he wanteth nothing for his soulH5315 of all that he desireth, yet 2GodH430 giveth him not power to eatH398 thereof, but a stranger eateth it: this is vanityH1892, and a sore evilH7451.

If a manH376 beget a hundredH3967 [sons], and liveH2421 manyH7227 yearsH8141, so that the daysH3117 of his yearsH8141 beH1961 manyH7227, but his soulH5315 beH1961 not filled with goodH2896, and alsoH1571 he have no burialH6900, I sayH559 an untimely birthH3205 is betterH2896 than he.

For it cometh in vanityH1892, and departeth in darknessH2822, and its nameH8034 is coveredH3680 with darknessH2822;

moreover it hath not seenH7200 nor knownH3045 the sunH8121: this hath rest rather than the other.

Yea, though he liveH2421 twice a thousandH505 yearsH8141, yet hath he seenH7200 no goodH2896: do not all goH1980 to oneH259 placeH4725?

All the labour of manH120 is for his mouthH6310, and yet the appetiteH5315 is not filledH4390.

For what advantageH3148 hath the wiseH2450 above the foolH3684? what hath the poorH6041, that knoweth to walkH1980 before the living?

Better is the seeing of the eyesH5869 than the wandering of the desireH5315: this alsoH1571 is vanityH1892 and pursuit of the windH7307.
