Ecclesiastes 11
Darby Bible
1Cast thy breadH3899 upon the watersH4325; for thou shalt findH4672 it after many daysH3117. 2GiveH5414 a portionH2506 to sevenH7651, and alsoH1571 to eightH8083; for thou knowest not what evilH7451 shall beH1961 upon the earthH776. 3If the cloudsH5645 be fullH4390 of rainH1653, they empty themselves upon the earthH776; and if a treeH6086 fallH5307 toward the southH1864, or toward the northH6828, in the placeH4725 where the treeH6086 falleth, there it shall be. 4He that observeth the windH7307 will not sowH2232; and he that regardeth the cloudsH5645 will not reapH7114. 5As thou knowest not what is the wayH1870 of the spiritH7307, howH4100 the bonesH6106 [grow] in the wombH990 of her that is with child, even so thou knowest not the workH4639 of 1GodH430 who maketh all. 6In the morningH1242 sowH2232 thy seedH2233, and in the eveningH6153 withhold not thy handH3027; for thou knowest not which shall prosper, whether this or that, or whether they both shall be alike goodH2896. 7Now the lightH216 is sweetH4966, and pleasant is it to the eyesH5869 to seeH7200 the sunH8121; 8but if a manH120 liveH2421 manyH7235 yearsH8141, [and] rejoiceH8055 in them all, yet let him rememberH2142 the daysH3117 of darknessH2822; for they shall beH1961 manyH7235: all that cometh is vanityH1892. 9RejoiceH8055, youngH970 manH970, in thy youthH979; and let thy heartH3820 cheer thee in the daysH3117 of thy youthH979, and walkH1980 in the waysH1870 of thy heartH3820, and in the sight of thine eyesH5869; but knowH3045 that for all these [thingsH428] 2GodH430 will bringH935 thee into judgmentH4941. 10Then removeH5493 discontent from thy heartH3820, and put awayH5493 evilH7451 from thy fleshH1320; for childhood and youthH3208 are vanityH1892.
