Cast Your Bread on the Waters

11CastH7971 your breadH3899 on the surfaceH6440 of the watersH4325, for you 2will findH4672 it 3after manyH7230 daysH3117. 24DivideH5414 your portionH2506 to sevenH7651, or evenH1571 to eightH8083, for you do not knowH3045 whatH4100 5misfortuneH7463 may occurH1961 on the earthH776. 3IfH518 the cloudsH5645 are fullH4390, they pourH7385 outH7385 rainH1653 on the earthH776; and whetherH518 a treeH6086 fallsH5307 toward the southH1864 or toward the northH6828, whereverH4725 the treeH6086 fallsH5307, thereH8033 it 6liesH1961. 4One who watchesH8104 the windH7307 will not sowH2232 and one who looksH7200 at the cloudsH5645 will not harvestH7114. 5JustH3512 asH3512 you do not 7knowH3045 the pathH1870 of the 8windH7307, and 9how bonesH6106 are formed in the wombH990 of the 10pregnantH4392 womanH4392, soH3602 you do not 11knowH3045 the activityH4639 of GodH430 whoH834 makesH6213 everythingH3605.

6SowH2232 your seedH2233 12in the morningH1242 and do not 13beH5117 idleH5117H3027 in the eveningH6153, for you do not knowH3045 whetherH335 14oneH2088 orH176 the otherH2088 will succeedH3787, or whetherH518 bothH8147 of them alikeH259 will be goodH2896.

7The lightH216 is pleasantH4966, and it is goodH2896 for the eyesH5869 to 15seeH7200 the sunH8121. 8IndeedH3588, ifH518 a personH120 livesH2421 manyH7235 yearsH8141, let him 16rejoiceH8055 in them allH3605; but let him rememberH2142 the 17daysH3117 of darknessH2822, for they will be manyH7235. EverythingH3605 that is to comeH935 will be futilityH1892.

9RejoiceH8055, youngH970 manH970, during your childhoodH3208, and let your heartH3820 beH3190 pleasantH3190 during the daysH3117 of youngH979 manhoodH979. And followH1980 the 18impulsesH1870 of your heartH3820 and the 1920desiresH4758 of your eyesH5869. Yet knowH3045 that 21GodH430 will bringH935 you to judgmentH4941 for allH3605 theseH428 thingsH428. 10So removeH5493 22sorrowH3708 from your heartH3820 and keepH5674 2324painH7463 awayH5674 from your bodyH1320, becauseH3588 childhoodH3208 and the primeH7839 ofH7839 lifeH7839 are 25fleetingH1892.
