Deuteronomy 2:26-32
26So from the WildernessH4057 of KedemothH6932 I sentH7971 messengersH4397 with an offerH1697 of peaceH7965 toH413 SihonH5511 kingH4428 of HeshbonH2809, sayingH559, 27“Let us passH5674 through your landH776; we will stay on the main roadH1870H1980. We will notH3808 turnH5493 to the rightH3225 or to the leftH8040. 28You can sell usH7666 foodH400 to eatH398 and waterH4325 to drinkH8354 in exchange for silverH3701. OnlyH7535 let us pass throughH5674 on footH7272, 29just asH834 the descendantsH1121 of EsauH6215 who liveH3427 in SeirH8165 and the MoabitesH4125 who liveH3427 in ArH6144 did for usH6213, untilH5704 we crossH5674 the JordanH3383 intoH413 the landH776 thatH834 the LORDH3068 our GodH430 is givingH5414 us.”
30But SihonH5511 kingH4428 of HeshbonH2809 wouldH14 notH3808 let us passH5674 through, forH3588 the LORDH3068 your GodH430 had made his spiritH7307 stubbornH7185 and his heartH3824 obstinateH553, thatH4616 He might deliver himH5414 into your handH3027, as is the caseH2088 this dayH3117.
31Then the LORDH3068 saidH559 to meH413, “SeeH7200, I have begunH2490 to deliverH5414 SihonH5511 and his landH776 over to youH6440. NowH853 beginH2490 to conquerH3423 and possessH3423 his landH776.”
32So SihonH5511 and his wholeH3605 armyH5971 came outH3318 for battleH4421 against usH7122 at JahazH3096.
