7And when the menאַנְשֵֽׁי־'an.shei-H582of Ashdodאַשְׁדּ֖וֹד'ash.DodH795sawוַיִּרְא֥וּvai.yir.'UH7200what was happeningכִּֽי־ כֵ֑ןki- KhenH3588 H3651,they saidוְאָמְר֗וּve.'a.me.RuH559, “The arkאֲר֨וֹן'a.RonH727of the Godאֱלֹהֵ֤י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478must notלֹֽא־lo'-H3808stayיֵשֵׁ֞בye.ShevH3427here with usעִמָּ֔נוּ'i.Ma.nuH5973,becauseכִּֽי־ki-H3588His handיָדוֹ֙ya.DoH3027is heavyקָשְׁתָ֤הka.she.TahH7185upon usעָלֵ֔ינוּ'a.Lei.nuH5921and uponוְעַ֖לve.'AlH5921our godאֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃'e.lo.Hei.nuH430Dagonדָּג֥וֹןda.GonH1712.”

8וַיִּשְׁלְח֡וּvai.yish.le.ChuH7971So they called togetherוַיַּאַסְפוּ֩vai.ya.'as.FuH622allכָּל־ אֲלֵיהֶ֗םkol- 'a.lei.HemH3605 H413the rulersסַרְנֵ֨יsar.NeiH5633of the Philistinesפְלִשְׁתִּ֜יםfe.lish.TimH6430אֶת־'et-H853and askedוַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙vai.yo.me.RuH559, “Whatמַֽה־mah-H4100shall we doנַּעֲשֶׂ֗הna.'a.SehH6213with the arkלַֽאֲרוֹן֙la.'a.rOnH727of the God ofאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478?” “Itאֲר֖וֹן אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל'a.Ron 'e.lo.Hei Yis.ra.'ElH727 H430 H3478must be movedיִסֹּ֔בyi.SoH5437to Gathגַּ֣תgatH1661,”they repliedוַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּvai.Yo.me.RuH559.So they carried awayוַיַּסֵּ֕בּוּvai.yas.Se.buH5437אֶת־'et-H853the arkאֲר֖וֹן'a.RonH727of the Godאֱלֹהֵ֥י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ סYis.ra.'ElH3478.

9But afterאַחֲרֵ֣י׀'a.cha.ReiH310they had movedהֵסַ֣בּוּhe.Sa.buH5437the ark to Gathוַיְהִ֞י אֹת֗וֹvay.Hi 'o.ToH853 H1961,the LORD’sיְהוָ֤ה׀Yah.wehH3068handיַד־yad-H3027was alsoוַתְּהִ֨יva.te.HiH1961against that cityבָּעִיר֙ba.'IrH5892,throwing it into great confusionמְהוּמָה֙ גְּדוֹלָ֣ה מְאֹ֔דme.hu.Mah ge.do.Lah me.'OdH4103 H1419 H3966and afflictingוַיַּךְ֙vai.yaKhH5221אֶת־'et-H853the menאַנְשֵׁ֣י'an.SheiH582of the cityהָעִ֔ירha.'IrH5892,both youngמִקָּטֹ֖ןmi.ka.TonH6996andוְעַד־ve.'ad-H5704oldגָּד֑וֹלga.DolH1419,with an outbreakוַיִּשָּׂתְר֥וּvai.yi.sa.te.RuH8368of tumorsH6076.
