25Then DavidH1732 saidH559 unto the messengerH4397, ThusH3541 shalt thou sayH559 unto JoabH3097, Let not this thingH1697 displease thee, for the swordH2719 devoureth oneH2088 as well as another; makeH2388 thy battleH4421 more strongH2388 against the cityH5892, and overthrow it: and encourageH2388 thou him.
26And when the wifeH802 of UriahH223 heardH8085 that UriahH223 her husbandH376 was deadH4191, she madeH8085 lamentation for her husbandH376. 27And when the mourningH60 wasH1961 past, DavidH1732 sentH7971 and took her home to his houseH1004, and she became his wifeH802, and bare him a sonH1121. But the thingH1697 that DavidH1732 had done displeased Jehovah.
