Isaiah 9:8-21

8TheLordsentawordintoJacob,andithath lighteduponIsrael.

9Andallthepeople shall know, even EphraimandtheinhabitantofSamaria,thatsayinprideandinstoutnessofheart,

10Thebricksarefallen,butwewillbuildwithhewn stone;thesycomoresarecutdown,butwewillput cedarsintheirplace.

11Therefore JehovahwillsetuponhighagainsthimtheadversariesofRezin,andwillstiruphisenemies,

12theSyriansbefore,andthePhilistines behind;andtheyshalldevourIsraelwithopen mouth.ForallthishisangerisnotturnedH7725awayH7725,buthishandisstretchedoutstill.

13Yetthepeoplehavenot turned untohimthatsmotethem, neitherhavetheysoughtJehovahofhosts.

14Therefore JehovahwillcutofffromIsraelheadH7218andtailH2180, palm-branchandrush,inoneday.

15Theelderandthehonorable man,heisthehead;andtheprophetthatteachethlies,heisthetail.

16Fortheythatleadthispeoplecausethemtoerr;andtheythatareledofthemaredestroyed.

17ThereforetheLordwillnotrejoice overtheiryoung men, neitherwillhehavecompassionontheirfatherlessandwidows;foreveryoneisprofaneandanevil-doer,andevery mouth speaketh folly.Forallthishisangerisnotturnedaway,buthishandisstretchedoutstill.

18Forwickedness burnethasthefireH784;itdevoureththebriersandthorns; yea,itkindlethinthethicketsoftheforest,andtheyroll upwardinacolumnofsmoke.

19ThroughthewrathofJehovahofhostsistheland burntup;andthepeopleareasthefueloffire:nomanH376sparethhisbrother.

20Andoneshallsnatchontherighthandיָד֥וֹya.DoH3027,andbehungry;andheshalleatonthelefthandH3027,andtheyshallnotbesatisfied:theyshalleateverymanthefleshofhisownarm:

21Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh; and they together shall be against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
