1The wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 cameH1961 againH1961 unto meH413, sayingH559, 2SonH1121 of manH120, there were twoH8147 womenH802, the daughtersH1323 of one motherH517: 3and they committedH6213 whoredoms in EgyptH4714; they committedH6213 whoredoms in their youthH5271: there were their breastsH7699 pressedH4600, and there they bruisedH4600 the teats of their virginityH1331. 4And the namesH8034 of them were OholahH170 the elderH1419, and OholibahH172 herH1961 sisterH269: and they becameH3205 mine, and they bare sonsH1121 and daughtersH1323. And as for their namesH8034, SamariaH8111 is OholahH170, and JerusalemH3389 OholibahH172. 5And OholahH170 playedH2181 the harlotH2181 when she was mineH8478; and she doted on herH413 loversH157, on the Assyrians herH413 neighbours, 6which were clothedH3847 with blueH8504, governorsH6346 and rulersH5461, allH3605 of them desirableH2531 youngH970 menH970, horsemenH6571 ridingH7392 uponH3847 horsesH5483. 7And sheH834 bestowedH5414 herH3605 whoredoms uponH5921 them, the choicestH4005 menH1121 of AssyriaH804 allH3605 of them: and on whomsoever sheH834 doted, with allH3605 their idolsH1544 sheH834 defiledH2930 herselfH5921. 8NeitherH3808 hath, sheH3588 leftH5800 herH5921 whoredoms sinceH3588 the days of EgyptH4714; and thy residue shall fallH5307 by the swordH2719: they shall takeH3947 thy sonsH1121 and thy daughtersH1323; and thy residue shall be devouredH398 by the fireH784. 26They shall also stripH6584 thee of thy clothesH899, and takeH3947 awayH3947 thy fair jewelsH3627. 27ThusH3808 will I makeH2142 thy lewdnessH2154 to ceaseH7673 from thee, and thy whoredom broughtH5375 from the landH776 of EgyptH4714: soH4480 that thou shalt notH3808 liftH5375 upH5375 thine eyesH5869 unto them, norH3808 rememberH2142 EgyptH4714 anyH4480 moreH4480. 28For thusH3541 saith the LordH136 GODH136: BeholdH2005, I will deliverH5414 thee intoH3027 the handH3027 of them whomH834 thou hatest, intoH3027 the handH3027 of them from whomH834 thy soulH5315 is alienatedH5361: 29and they shall dealH6213 with thee in hatredH8135, and shall takeH3947 awayH1540 allH3605 thy labour, and shall leaveH5800 thee nakedH5903 and bareH1540: and the nakednessH6172 of thy whoredoms shall be discovered, bothH3605 thy lewdnessH2154 and thy whoredoms. 30TheseH428 things shall be doneH6213 unto thee, for that thou hast gone a whoring afterH310 the heathen, and becauseH5921 thou art polluted with their idolsH1544. 31Thou hast walkedH1980 in the wayH1870 of thy sisterH269; therefore will I giveH5414 herH5414 cupH3563 intoH1980 thine handH3027. 32ThusH3541 saith the LordH136 GODH136: Thou shalt drinkH8354 of thy sister’sH269 cupH3563, which is deepH6013 and large: thou shalt be laughedH6712 to scorn and had in derision; it containeth muchH4767. 33Thou shalt be filledH4390 with drunkennessH7943 and sorrowH3015, with the cupH3563 of astonishment and desolationH8077, with the cupH3563 of thy sisterH269 SamariaH8111. 34Thou shalt evenH3588 drinkH8354 it and drainH4680 it outH4680, and thou shalt gnawH4680 the sherds thereof, and shalt tearH5423 thy breastsH7699: for I have spokenH1696 it, saith the LordH136 GODH136. 35Therefore thusH3541 saith the LordH136 GODH136: BecauseH3282 thou hast forgottenH7911 meH310, and castH7993 meH310 behindH310 thy backH310, therefore bearH5375 thou also thy lewdnessH2154 and thy whoredoms. 36The LORDH3068 saidH559 moreover unto meH413: SonH1121 of manH120, wilt thou judgeH8199 OholahH170 and OholibahH172? then declareH5046 unto them their abominationsH8441. 37For they have committedH5003 adulteryH5003, and bloodH1818 is in their handsH3027, and with their idolsH1544 have they committedH5003 adulteryH5003; and they have also causedH854 their sonsH1121, whomH834 they bare unto meH3205, to passH5674 throughH3027 the fire unto them to be devoured. 38MoreoverH5750 this they have doneH6213 unto meH3117: they have defiledH2930 my sanctuaryH4720 in the sameH1931 dayH3117, and have profanedH2490 my sabbathsH7676. 39For when they had slainH7819 their childrenH1121 to their idolsH1544, then they cameH935 the sameH1931 dayH3117 intoH413 my sanctuaryH4720 to profaneH2490 it; and, loH2009, thusH3541 have they doneH6213 in the midstH8432 of mine houseH1004. 40And furthermoreH637 ye have sentH7971 for menH376 that comeH935 from farH4801: unto whomH834 a messengerH4397 was sentH7971, and, loH2009, they cameH935; for whomH834 thou didst washH7364 thyself, paintedst thine eyesH5869, and deckedst thyself with ornamentsH5716; 41and satest uponH5921 a stately bedH4296. with a tableH7979 prepared beforeH6440 it, whereupon thou didst setH7760 mine incenseH7004 and mine oilH8081. 42And the voiceH6963 of a multitudeH1995 being at easeH7961 was with herH413: and with menH376 of the common sort were broughtH935 drunkardsH5433 from the wildernessH4057; becauseH3588 they are adulteressesH5003, and bloodH1818 is in their handsH3027. 46For thusH3541 saith the LordH136 GODH136: I will bringH5927 upH5927 an assemblyH6951 againstH5921 them, and will giveH5414 them to be tossed to and fro and spoiled. 47And the assemblyH6951 shall stoneH68 them with stonesH68, and despatch them with their swordsH2719; they shall slayH2026 their sonsH1121 and their daughtersH1323, and burnH8313 upH5921 their housesH1004 with fireH784. 48ThusH3808 will I cause lewdnessH2154 to ceaseH7673 outH4480 of the landH776, that allH3605 womenH802 may be taughtH3256 notH3808 to doH6213 afterH4480 your lewdnessH2154. 49And they shall recompense your lewdnessH2154 uponH5921 youH3588, and ye shall bearH5375 the sinsH2399 of your idolsH1544: and ye shall knowH3045 that I am the LordH136 GODH136.
