1And Dinahדִינָה֙di.NahH1783the daughterבַּת־bat-H1323of Leahלֵאָ֔הle.'AhH3812,which she bareיָלְדָ֖הYal.dahH3205unto Jacobלְיַעֲקֹ֑בle.ya.'a.KoH3290,went outוַתֵּצֵ֤אva.te.Tze'H3318to seeלִרְא֖וֹתlir.'otH7200the daughtersבִּבְנ֥וֹתbiv.NotH1323of the landהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776.

2And when Shechemשְׁכֶ֧םshe.KhemH7927the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Hamorחֲמ֛וֹרcha.MorH2544the Hiviteהַֽחִוִּ֖יha.chi.ViH2340,princeנְשִׂ֣יאne.Si'H5387of the countryהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776,sawוַיַּ֨רְאvai.Yar'H7200her, he tookוַיִּקַּ֥חvai.yi.KachH3947her, and layוַיִּשְׁכַּ֥בvai.yish.KavH7901with her, and defiled herוַיְעַנֶּֽהָ׃vay.'a.Ne.haH6031.

3And his soulנַפְשׁ֔וֹnaf.ShoH5315claveוַתִּדְבַּ֣קva.tid.BakH1692unto Dinahבְּדִינָ֖הbe.di.NahH1783the daughterבַּֽת־bat-H1323of Jacobיַעֲקֹ֑בya.'a.KoH3290,and he lovedוַיֶּֽאֱהַב֙vai.ye.'e.HavH157the damselהַֽנַּעֲרָ֔ha.na.'a.RaH5291,and spakeוַיְדַבֵּ֖רvay.da.BerH1696kindlyלֵ֥בlevH3820unto the damselהַֽנַּעֲרָֽ׃Ha.na.'a.raH5291.

4And Shechemשְׁכֶ֔םshe.KhemH7927spakeוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto his fatherאָבִ֖יו'a.VivH1Hamorחֲמ֥וֹרcha.MorH2544,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,Getקַֽח־kach-H3947me this damselהַיַּלְדָּ֥הhai.yal.DahH3207to wifeלְאִשָּֽׁה׃le.'i.ShahH802.

5And Jacobוְיַעֲקֹ֣בve.ya.'a.KoH3290heardשָׁמַ֗עsha.Ma'H8085that he had defiledטִמֵּא֙ti.Me'H2930Dinahדִּינָ֣הdi.NahH1783his daughterבִתּ֔וֹvi.ToH1323:now his sonsוּבָנָ֛יוu.va.NavH1121were with his cattleמִקְנֵ֖הוּmik.Ne.huH4735in the fieldבַּשָּׂדֶ֑הba.sa.DehH7704:and Jacobיַעֲקֹ֖בya.'a.KoH3290held his peaceוְהֶחֱרִ֥שׁve.he.che.RishH2790until they were comeבֹּאָֽם׃bo.'AmH935.

6And Hamorחֲמ֥וֹרcha.MorH2544the fatherאֲבִֽי־'a.vi-H1of Shechemשְׁכֶ֖םshe.KhemH7927went outוַיֵּצֵ֛אvai.ye.Tze'H3318unto Jacobיַעֲקֹ֑בya.'a.KoH3290to communeלְדַבֵּ֖רle.da.BerH1696withאִתּֽוֹ׃'i.ToH854him.

7And the sonsוּבְנֵ֨יu.ve.NeiH1121of Jacobיַעֲקֹ֜בya.'a.KoH3290cameבָּ֤אוּBa.'uH935out of the fieldהַשָּׂדֶה֙ha.sa.DehH7704when they heardכְּשָׁמְעָ֔םke.sha.me.'AmH8085it:and the menהָֽאֲנָשִׁ֔יםha.'a.na.ShimH582were grievedוַיִּֽתְעַצְּבוּ֙vai.yit.'a.tze.VuH6087,and they were veryמְאֹ֑דme.'OdH3966wrothוַיִּ֥חַרvai.Yi.charH2734,because he had wroughtעָשָׂ֣ה'a.SahH6213follyנְבָלָ֞הne.va.LahH5039in Israelבְיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לve.Yis.ra.'ElH3478in lyingלִשְׁכַּב֙lish.KavH7901with Jacob’sיַעֲקֹ֔בya.'a.KoH3290daughterבַּֽת־bat-H1323;which thing ought not to be doneיֵעָשֶֽׂה׃ye.'a.SehH6213.

8And Hamorחֲמ֖וֹרcha.MorH2544communedוַיְדַבֵּ֥רvay.da.BerH1696with them, sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,The soulנַפְשׁוֹ֙naf.ShoH5315of my sonבְּנִ֗יbe.NiH1121Shechemשְׁכֶ֣םshe.KhemH7927longethחָֽשְׁקָ֤הcha.she.KahH2836for your daughterבְּבִתְּכֶ֔םbe.vi.te.KhemH1323:I pray you giveתְּנ֨וּte.NuH5414her him to wifeלְאִשָּֽׁה׃le.'i.ShahH802.

9And make ye marriagesוְהִֽתְחַתְּנ֖וּve.hit.cha.te.NuH2859with us, andgiveתִּתְּנוּ־ti.te.nu-H5414your daughtersבְּנֹֽתֵיכֶם֙be.no.tei.KhemH1323unto us, and takeתִּקְח֥וּtik.ChuH3947our daughtersבְּנֹתֵ֖ינוּbe.no.Tei.nuH1323unto you.

10And ye shall dwellתֵּשֵׁ֑בוּte.She.vuH3427with us: and the landוְהָאָ֙רֶץ֙ve.ha.'A.retzH776shall beתִּהְיֶ֣הtih.YehH1961before youלִפְנֵיכֶ֔םlif.nei.KhemH6440;dwellשְׁבוּ֙she.VuH3427and tradeוּסְחָר֔וּהָu.se.cha.Ru.haH5503ye therein, and get you possessionsוְהֵֽאָחֲז֖וּve.he.'a.cha.ZuH270therein.

11And Shechemשְׁכֶם֙she.KhemH7927saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto her fatherאָבִ֣יה'a.VihH1and unto her brethrenאַחֶ֔יהָ'a.Chei.haH251,Let me findאֶמְצָא־'em.tza'-H4672graceחֵ֖ןchenH2580in your eyesבְּעֵינֵיכֶ֑םbe.'ei.nei.KhemH5869,and what ye shall sayתֹּאמְר֛וּto.me.RuH559unto me I will giveאֶתֵּֽן׃'e.TenH5414.

12Askהַרְבּ֨וּhar.BuH7235me never so muchמְאֹד֙me.'OdH3966dowryמֹ֣הַרMo.harH4119and giftוּמַתָּ֔ןu.ma.TanH4976,and I will giveוְאֶ֨תְּנָ֔הve.'E.te.NahH5414according as ye shall sayתֹּאמְר֖וּto.me.RuH559unto me: but giveוּתְנוּ־u.te.nu-H5414me the damselהַֽנַּעֲרָ֖ha.na.'a.RaH5291to wifeלְאִשָּֽׁה׃le.'i.ShahH802.

13And the sonsבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Jacobיַעֲקֹ֜בya.'a.KoH3290answeredוַיַּעֲנ֨וּvai.ya.'a.NuH6030Shechemשְׁכֶ֨םshe.KhemH7927and Hamorחֲמ֥וֹרcha.MorH2544his fatherאָבִ֛יו'a.VivH1deceitfullyבְּמִרְמָ֖הbe.mir.MahH4820,and saidוַיְדַבֵּ֑רוּvay.da.Be.ruH1696,because he had defiledטִמֵּ֔אti.Me'H2930Dinahדִּינָ֥הdi.NahH1783their sisterאֲחֹתָֽם׃'a.cho.TamH269:

14And they saidוַיֹּאמְר֣וּvai.yo.me.RuH559unto them, We cannotלֹ֤א נוּכַל֙lo' nu.KhalH3201 H3808doלַעֲשׂוֹת֙la.'a.soTH6213this thingהַדָּבָ֣רha.da.VarH1697,to giveלָתֵת֙la.TetH5414our sisterאֲחֹתֵ֔נוּ'a.cho.Te.nuH269to oneלְאִ֖ישׁle.'IshH376that is uncircumcisedעָרְלָ֑ה'a.re.LahH6190; for that werea reproachחֶרְפָּ֥הcher.PahH2781unto us:

15But in thisבְּזֹ֖אתbe.ZotH2063will we consentנֵא֣וֹתne.'otH225unto you: If ye will be as we be,that every maleזָכָֽר׃za.KharH2145of you be circumcisedלְהִמֹּ֥לle.hi.MolH4135;

16Then will we giveוְנָתַ֤נּוּve.na.Ta.nuH5414our daughtersבְּנֹתֵ֙ינוּ֙be.no.Tei.nuH1323unto you, and we will takeנִֽקַּֽח־ni.kach-H3947your daughtersבְּנֹתֵיכֶ֖םbe.no.tei.KhemH1323to us, and we will dwellוְיָשַׁ֣בְנוּve.ya.Shav.nuH3427with you, and we will become oneאֶחָֽד׃'e.ChadH259peopleלְעַ֥םle.'AmH5971.

17But if ye will not hearkenתִשְׁמְע֛וּtish.me.'UH8085unto us, to be circumcisedלְהִמּ֑וֹלle.hi.MolH4135;then will we takeוְלָקַ֥חְנוּve.la.Kach.nuH3947our daughterבִּתֵּ֖נוּbi.Te.nuH1323,and we will be goneוְהָלָֽכְנוּ׃ve.ha.La.khe.nuH1980.

18And their wordsדִבְרֵיהֶ֖םdiv.rei.HemH1697pleasedוַיִּֽיטְב֥וּvai.yi.te.VuH5869 H3190Hamorחֲמ֑וֹרcha.MorH2544,and Shechemשְׁכֶ֥םshe.KhemH7927Hamor’sחֲמֽוֹר׃cha.MorH2544sonבֶּן־ben-H1121.

19And the young manהַנַּ֙עַר֙ha.Na.'arH5288deferredאֵחַ֤ר'e.CharH309not to doלַעֲשׂ֣וֹתla.'a.SotH6213the thingהַדָּבָ֔רha.da.VarH1697,because he had delightחָפֵ֖ץcha.FetzH2654in Jacob’sיַעֲקֹ֑בya.'a.KoH3290daughterבְּבַֽת־be.vat-H1323: and he wasmore honourableנִכְבָּ֔דnikh.BadH3513than all the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of his fatherאָבִֽיו׃'a.VivH1.

20And Hamorחֲמ֛וֹרcha.MorH2544and Shechemוּשְׁכֶ֥םu.she.KhemH7927his sonבְּנ֖וֹbe.NoH1121cameוַיָּבֹ֥אvai.ya.Vo'H935unto the gateשַׁ֣עַרSha.'arH8179of their cityעִירָ֑ם'i.RamH5892,and communedוַֽיְדַבְּר֛וּvay.da.be.RuH1696with the menאַנְשֵׁ֥י'an.SheiH582of their cityעִירָ֖ם'i.RamH5892,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

21These menהָאֲנָשִׁ֨יםha.'a.na.ShimH582arepeaceableשְֽׁלֵמִ֧יםshe.le.MimH8003withאִתָּ֗נוּ'i.Ta.nuH854us; therefore let them dwellוְיֵשְׁב֤וּve.ye.she.VuH3427in the landבָאָ֙רֶץ֙va.'A.retzH776,and tradeוְיִסְחֲר֣וּve.yis.cha.RuH5503therein; for the landוְהָאָ֛רֶץve.ha.'A.retzH776, behold, it islargeרַֽחֲבַת־ra.cha.vat-H7342enoughיָדַ֖יִםya.Da.yimH3027for themלִפְנֵיהֶ֑םlif.nei.HemH6440;let us takeנִקַּֽח־ni.kach-H3947their daughtersבְּנֹתָם֙be.no.TamH1323to us for wivesלְנָשִׁ֔יםle.na.ShimH802,and let us giveנִתֵּ֥ןni.TenH5414them our daughtersבְּנֹתֵ֖ינוּbe.no.Tei.nuH1323.

24And unto Hamorחֲמוֹר֙cha.mOrH2544and unto Shechemשְׁכֶ֣םshe.KhemH7927his sonבְּנ֔וֹbe.NoH1121hearkenedוַיִּשְׁמְע֤וּvai.yish.me.'UH8085all that went outיֹצְאֵ֖יyo.tze.'EiH3318of the gateשַׁ֣עַרSha.'arH8179of his cityעִיר֑וֹi.RoH5892;and every maleזָכָ֔רza.KharH2145was circumcisedוַיִּמֹּ֙לוּ֙vai.yi.Mo.luH4135,all that went outיֹצְאֵ֖יyo.tze.'EiH3318of the gateשַׁ֥עַרSha.'arH8179of his cityעִירֽוֹ׃i.RoH5892.

26And they slewהָרְג֖וּha.re.GuH2026Hamorחֲמוֹר֙cha.mOrH2544and Shechemשְׁכֶ֣םshe.KhemH7927his sonבְּנ֔וֹbe.NoH1121with the edgeלְפִי־le.fi-H6310of the swordחָ֑רֶבCha.revH2719,and tookH3947Dinahדִּינָ֛הdi.NahH1783outH3947of Shechem’sשְׁכֶ֖םshe.KhemH7927houseמִבֵּ֥יתmi.BeitH1004,and went outוַיֵּצֵֽאוּ׃vai.ye.Tze.'uH3318.

27The sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Jacobיַעֲקֹ֗בya.'a.KoH3290cameבָּ֚אוּBa.'uH935upon the slainהַ֣חֲלָלִ֔יםha.cha.la.LimH2491,and spoiledוַיָּבֹ֖זּוּvai.ya.Vo.zuH962the cityהָעִ֑ירha.'IrH5892,because they had defiledטִמְּא֖וּti.me.'UH2930their sisterאֲחוֹתָֽם׃'a.cho.TamH269.

28They tookלָקָֽחוּ׃la.Ka.chuH3947their sheepצֹאנָ֥םtzo.NamH6629,and their oxenבְּקָרָ֖םbe.ka.RamH1241,and their assesחֲמֹרֵיהֶּ֑םcha.mo.rei.HemH2543, and that which wasin the cityבָּעִ֛ירba.'IrH5892, and that which wasin the fieldבַּשָּׂדֶ֖הba.sa.DehH7704,

29And all their wealthחֵילָ֤םchei.LamH2428,and all their little onesטַפָּם֙ta.PamH2945,and their wivesנְשֵׁיהֶ֔םne.shei.HemH802took they captiveשָׁב֖וּsha.VuH7617,and spoiledוַיָּבֹ֑זּוּvai.ya.Vo.zuH962even all that wasin the houseבַּבָּֽיִת׃ba.Ba.yitH1004.
