2And they calledוַתִּקְרֶ֣אןָva.tik.Re.naH7121the peopleלָעָ֔םla.'AmH5971unto the sacrificesלְזִבְחֵ֖יle.ziv.CheiH2077of their godsאֱלֹהֵיהֶ֑ן'e.lo.hei.HenH430:and the peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971did eatוַיֹּ֣אכַלvai.Yo.khalH398,and bowed downוַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲוּ֖וּvai.yish.ta.cha.VuH7812to their godsלֵֽאלֹהֵיהֶֽן׃Le.lo.hei.HenH430.

3And Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478joinedוַיִּצָּ֥מֶדvai.yi.Tza.medH6775himself unto Baal–peorH1187:and the angerאַ֥ף'afH639of Yhwhיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068was kindledוַיִּֽחַר־vai.yi.char-H2734against Israelבְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃be.Yis.ra.'ElH3478.

4And Yhwhיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto Mosesמֹשֶׁ֗הmo.ShehH4872,Takeקַ֚חkachH3947all the headsרָאשֵׁ֣יra.SheiH7218of the peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971,and hang them upוְהוֹקַ֥עve.ho.Ka'H3363beforeנֶ֣גֶדNe.gedH5048Yhwhלַיהוָ֖הla.Yah.wehH3068against the sunהַשָּׁ֑מֶשׁha.Sha.meshH8121,that the fierceחֲר֥וֹןcha.RonH2740angerאַף־'af-H639of Yhwhיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068may be turned awayוְיָשֹׁ֛בve.ya.ShoH7725from Israelמִיִּשְׂרָאֵֽל׃mi.Yis.ra.'ElH3478.

5And Mosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto the judgesשֹׁפְטֵ֖יsho.fe.TeiH8199of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478,Slayהִרְגוּ֙hir.GuH2026ye everyH376oneH376his menאֲנָשָׁ֔יו'a.na.ShavH582that were joinedהַנִּצְמָדִ֖יםha.nitz.ma.DimH6775unto Baal–peorH1187.

6And, behold, oneאִישׁ֩'ishH376of the childrenמִבְּנֵ֨יmi.be.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֜לYis.ra.'ElH3478cameבָּ֗אBa'H935and broughtוַיַּקְרֵ֤בvai.yak.RevH7126unto his brethrenאֶחָיו֙'e.ChavH251a Midianitish womanהַמִּדְיָנִ֔יתha.mid.ya.NitH4084in the sightלְעֵינֵ֣יle.'ei.NeiH5869of Mosesמֹשֶׁ֔הmo.ShehH4872,and in the sightוּלְעֵינֵ֖יu.le.'ei.NeiH5869of all the congregationעֲדַ֣ת'a.DatH5712of the childrenבְּנֵי־be.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478, who wereweepingבֹכִ֔יםvo.KhimH1058beforethe doorפֶּ֖תַחPe.tachH6607of the tabernacleאֹ֥הֶל'O.helH168of the congregationמוֹעֵֽד׃mo.'EdH4150.

7And when Phinehasפִּֽינְחָס֙pi.ne.ChasH6372,the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Eleazarאֶלְעָזָ֔ר'el.'a.ZarH499,the sonבֶּֽן־ben-H1121of Aaronאַהֲרֹ֖ן'a.ha.RonH175the priestהַכֹּהֵ֑ןha.ko.HenH3548,sawוַיַּ֗רְאvai.Yar'H7200it,he rose upוַיָּ֙קָם֙vai.Ya.komH6965from amongמִתּ֣וֹךְmi.TokhH8432the congregationהָֽעֵדָ֔הha.'e.DahH5712,and tookוַיִּקַּ֥חvai.yi.KachH3947a javelinרֹ֖מַחRo.machH7420in his handבְּיָדֽוֹ׃be.ya.DoH3027;

9And those that diedהַמֵּתִ֖יםha.me.TimH4191in the plagueבַּמַּגֵּפָ֑הba.ma.ge.FahH4046were twentyוְעֶשְׂרִ֖יםve.'es.RimH6242and fourאַרְבָּעָ֥ה'ar.ba.'AhH702thousandאָֽלֶף׃ פ'A.lefH505.

10And Yhwhיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068spakeוַיְדַבֵּ֥רvay.da.BerH1696unto Mosesמֹשֶׁ֥הmo.ShehH4872,sayingלֵּאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

11Phinehasפִּֽינְחָ֨סpin.ChasH6372,the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Eleazarאֶלְעָזָ֜ר'el.'a.ZarH499,the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Aaronאַהֲרֹ֣ן'a.ha.RonH175the priestהַכֹּהֵ֗ןha.ko.HenH3548,hath turnedהֵשִׁ֤יבhe.ShivH7725my wrathחֲמָתִי֙cha.ma.TiH2534awayH7725from the childrenבְּנֵֽי־be.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,while he was zealousבְּקַנְא֥וֹbe.kan.'OH7065for my sakeקִנְאָתִ֖יkin.'a.TiH7068amongבְּתוֹכָ֑םbe.to.KhamH8432them, that I consumedכִלִּ֥יתִיkhi.Li.tiH3615not the childrenבְּנֵֽי־be.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478in my jealousyבְּקִנְאָתִֽי׃be.kin.'a.TiH7068.

12Wherefore sayאֱמֹ֑ר'e.MorH559,Behold, I giveנֹתֵ֥ןno.TenH5414unto him my covenantבְּרִיתִ֖יbe.ri.TiH1285of peaceשָׁלֽוֹם׃sha.LomH7965:

17Vexצָר֖וֹרtza.RorH6887the Midianitesהַמִּדְיָנִ֑יםha.mid.ya.NimH4084,and smiteוְהִכִּיתֶ֖םve.hi.ki.TemH5221them:
