2Then came the wordדְבַר־de.var-H1697of Yhwhיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068unto me, sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

3Sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of manאָדָ֗ם'a.DamH120,speakדַּבֵּ֞רda.BerH1696unto the eldersזִקְנֵ֤יzik.NeiH2205of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478,and sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֣ve.'a.mar.TaH559unto them, Thus saithאָמַר֙'a.MarH559the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136Yhwhיְהוִ֔הYah.wehH3069;Are ye comeבָּאִ֑יםba.'ImH935to enquireהֲלִדְרֹ֥שׁha.lid.RoshH1875of me? 4Wilt thou judgeהֲתִשְׁפֹּ֣טha.tish.PotH8199them, sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of manאָדָ֑ם'a.DamH120,wilt thou judgeהֲתִשְׁפּ֖וֹטha.tish.PotH8199them?cause them to knowהוֹדִיעֵֽם׃ho.di.'EmH3045the abominationsתּוֹעֲבֹ֥תto.'a.VotH8441of their fathersאֲבוֹתָ֖ם'a.vo.TamH1:

6In the dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117thatI lifted upנָשָׂ֤אתִיna.Sa.tiH5375mine handיָדִי֙ya.DiH3027unto them, to bring them forthלְהֽוֹצִיאָ֖םle.ho.tzi.'AmH3318of the landמֵאֶ֣רֶץme.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָ֑יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714into a landאֶ֜רֶץ'E.retzH776that I had espiedתַּ֣רְתִּיTar.tiH8446for them, flowingזָבַ֤תza.VatH2100with milkחָלָב֙cha.LavH2461and honeyוּדְבַ֔שׁu.de.VashH1706, which isthe gloryצְבִ֥יtze.ViH6643of all landsהָאֲרָצֽוֹת׃ha.'a.ra.TzotH776:

7Then saidוָאֹמַ֣רva.'o.MarH559I unto them, Cast ye awayהַשְׁלִ֔יכוּhash.Li.khuH7993every manאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376the abominationsשִׁקּוּצֵ֤יshi.ku.TzeiH8251of his eyesעֵינָיו֙'ei.NavH5869,and defileתִּטַּמָּ֑אוּti.ta.Ma.'uH2930not yourselves with the idolsוּבְגִלּוּלֵ֥יu.ve.gi.lu.LeiH1544of Egyptמִצְרַ֖יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714: I amYhwhיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃'e.lo.hei.KhemH430.

8But they rebelledוַיַּמְרוּ־vai.yam.ru-H4784against me, and wouldאָבוּ֙'a.VuH14not hearkenלִּשְׁמֹ֣עַlish.Mo.a'H8085unto me: they did not every manאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376cast awayהִשְׁלִ֔יכוּhish.Li.khuH7993the abominationsשִׁקּוּצֵ֤יshi.ku.TzeiH8251of their eyesעֵֽינֵיהֶם֙'ei.nei.HemH5869,neither did they forsakeעָזָ֑בוּ'a.Za.vuH5800the idolsגִּלּוּלֵ֥יgi.lu.LeiH1544of Egyptמִצְרַ֖יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714:then I saidוָאֹמַ֞רva.'o.MarH559,I will pour outלִשְׁפֹּ֧ךְlish.PokhH8210my furyחֲמָתִ֣יcha.ma.TiH2534upon them, to accomplishלְכַלּ֤וֹתle.kha.LotH3615my angerאַפִּי֙'a.PiH639against them in the midstבְּת֖וֹךְbe.TokhH8432of the landאֶ֥רֶץ'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָֽיִם׃mitz.Ra.yimH4714.

9But I wroughtוָאַ֙עַשׂ֙va.'A.'asH6213for my name’sשְׁמִ֔יshe.MiH8034sake, that it should not be pollutedהֵחֵ֛לhe.ChelH2490beforeלְעֵינֵ֥יle.'ei.NeiH5869the heathenהַגּוֹיִ֖םha.go.YimH1471,amongבְתוֹכָ֑םve.to.KhamH8432whom they were,in whose sightלְעֵ֣ינֵיהֶ֔םle.'Ei.nei.HemH5869I made myself knownנוֹדַ֤עְתִּיno.Da'.tiH3045unto them, in bringing them forthלְהוֹצִיאָ֖םle.ho.tzi.'AmH3318out of the landמֵאֶ֥רֶץme.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָֽיִם׃mitz.Ra.yimH4714.

10Wherefore I caused them to go forthוָאֽוֹצִיאֵ֖םva.'o.tzi.'EmH3318out of the landמֵאֶ֣רֶץme.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָ֑יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714,and broughtוָאֲבִאֵ֖םva.'a.vi.'EmH935them into the wildernessהַמִּדְבָּֽר׃ha.mid.BarH4057.

11And I gaveוָאֶתֵּ֤ןva.'e.TenH5414them my statutesחֻקּוֹתַ֔יchu.ko.TaiH2708,and shewedהוֹדַ֣עְתִּיho.Da'.tiH3045them my judgmentsמִשְׁפָּטַ֖יmish.pa.TaiH4941, which ifa manהָאָדָ֖םha.'a.DamH120doיַעֲשֶׂ֥הya.'a.SehH6213,he shall even liveH2425in them.

12Moreover also I gaveנָתַ֣תִּיna.Ta.tiH5414them my sabbathsשַׁבְּתוֹתַי֙sha.be.to.TaiH7676,to be a signלְא֔וֹתle.'otH226between me and them, that they might knowלָדַ֕עַתla.Da.'atH3045that I amYhwhיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068that sanctifyמְקַדְּשָֽׁם׃me.ka.de.ShamH6942them.

13But the houseבֵֽית־veit-H1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֜לYis.ra.'ElH3478rebelledוַיַּמְרוּ־vai.yam.ru-H4784against me in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֗רba.mid.BarH4057:they walkedהָלָ֜כוּha.La.khuH1980not in my statutesבְּחֻקּוֹתַ֨יbe.chu.ko.TaiH2708,and they despisedמָאָ֗סוּma.'A.suH3988my judgmentsמִשְׁפָּטַ֣יmish.pa.TaiH4941, which ifa manהָֽאָדָם֙ha.'a.DamH120doיַעֲשֶׂ֨הya.'a.SehH6213,he shall even liveH2425in them; and my sabbathsשַׁבְּתֹתַ֖יsha.be.to.TaiH7676they greatlyמְאֹ֑דme.'OdH3966pollutedחִלְּל֣וּchi.le.LuH2490:then I saidוָאֹמַ֞רva.'o.MarH559,I would pour outלִשְׁפֹּ֨ךְlish.PokhH8210my furyחֲמָתִ֧יcha.ma.TiH2534upon them in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֖רba.mid.BarH4057,to consumeלְכַלּוֹתָֽם׃le.kha.lo.TamH3615them.

14But I wroughtוָאֶעֱשֶׂ֖הva.'e.'e.SehH6213for my name’sשְׁמִ֑יshe.MiH8034sake, that it should not be pollutedהֵחֵל֙he.ChelH2490beforeלְעֵינֵ֣יle.'ei.NeiH5869the heathenהַגּוֹיִ֔םha.go.YimH1471,in whose sightלְעֵינֵיהֶֽם׃le.'ei.nei.HemH5869I brought them outהוֹצֵאתִ֖יםho.tze.TimH3318.

15Yet also I lifted upנָשָׂ֧אתִיna.Sa.tiH5375my handיָדִ֛יya.DiH3027unto them in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֑רba.mid.BarH4057,that I would not bringהָבִ֨יאha.Vi'H935them into the landהָאָ֣רֶץha.'A.retzH776which I had givenנָתַ֗תִּיna.Ta.tiH5414them,flowingזָבַ֤תza.VatH2100with milkחָלָב֙cha.LavH2461and honeyוּדְבַ֔שׁu.de.VashH1706, which isthe gloryצְבִ֥יtze.ViH6643of all landsהָאֲרָצֽוֹת׃ha.'a.ra.TzotH776;

16Because they despisedמָאָ֗סוּma.'A.suH3988my judgmentsבְּמִשְׁפָּטַ֣יbe.mish.pa.TaiH4941,and walkedהָלְכ֣וּha.le.KhuH1980not in my statutesחֻקּוֹתַי֙chu.ko.TaiH2708,but pollutedחִלֵּ֑לוּchi.Le.luH2490my sabbathsשַׁבְּתוֹתַ֖יsha.be.to.TaiH7676:for their heartלִבָּ֥םli.BamH3820wentהֹלֵֽךְ׃ho.LekhH1980afterאַחֲרֵ֥י'a.cha.ReiH310their idolsגִלּוּלֵיהֶ֖םgi.lu.lei.HemH1544.

17Nevertheless mine eyeעֵינִ֛י'ei.NiH5869sparedוַתָּ֧חָסva.Ta.chosH2347them from destroyingמִֽשַּׁחֲתָ֑םmi.sha.cha.TamH7843them, neither did I makeעָשִׂ֧יתִי'a.Si.tiH6213an endכָּלָ֖הka.LahH3617of them in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ba.mid.BarH4057.

18But I saidוָאֹמַ֤רva.'o.MarH559unto their childrenבְּנֵיהֶם֙be.nei.HemH1121in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֔רba.mid.BarH4057,WalkH3212ye not in the statutesבְּחוּקֵּ֤יbe.chu.KeiH2706of your fathersאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶם֙'a.vo.tei.KhemH1,neither observeתִּשְׁמֹ֑רוּtish.Mo.ruH8104their judgmentsמִשְׁפְּטֵיהֶ֖םmish.pe.tei.HemH4941,nor defileתִּטַּמָּֽאוּ׃ti.ta.Ma.'uH2930yourselves with their idolsוּבְגִלּוּלֵיהֶ֖םu.ve.gi.lu.lei.HemH1544:

19I amYhwhיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֵיכֶ֔ם'e.lo.hei.KhemH430;walkH3212in my statutesבְּחֻקּוֹתַ֖יbe.chu.ko.TaiH2708,and keepשִׁמְר֖וּshim.RuH8104my judgmentsמִשְׁפָּטַ֥יmish.pa.TaiH4941,and doוַעֲשׂ֥וּva.'a.SuH6213them;

20And hallowקַדֵּ֑שׁוּka.De.shuH6942my sabbathsשַׁבְּתוֹתַ֖יsha.be.to.TaiH7676;and they shall be a signלְאוֹת֙le.'OtH226between me and you, that ye may knowלָדַ֕עַתla.Da.'atH3045that I amYhwhיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃'e.lo.hei.KhemH430.

21Notwithstanding the childrenהַבָּנִ֗יםha.ba.NimH1121rebelledוַיַּמְרוּ־vai.yam.ru-H4784against me: they walkedהָ֠לָכוּHa.la.khuH1980not in my statutesבְּחֻקּוֹתַ֣יbe.chu.ko.TaiH2708,neither keptשָׁמְר֜וּsha.me.RuH8104my judgmentsמִשְׁפָּטַ֨יmish.pa.TaiH4941to doלַעֲשׂ֣וֹתla.'a.SotH6213them, which ifa manהָֽאָדָם֙ha.'a.DamH120doיַעֲשֶׂ֨הya.'a.SehH6213,he shall even liveH2425in them; they pollutedחִלֵּ֑לוּchi.Le.luH2490my sabbathsשַׁבְּתוֹתַ֖יsha.be.to.TaiH7676:then I saidוָאֹמַ֞רva.'o.MarH559,I would pour outלִשְׁפֹּ֧ךְlish.PokhH8210my furyחֲמָתִ֣יcha.ma.TiH2534upon them, to accomplishלְכַלּ֥וֹתle.kha.LotH3615my angerאַפִּ֛י'a.PiH639against them in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ba.mid.BarH4057.

22Nevertheless I withdrewוַהֲשִׁבֹ֙תִי֙va.ha.shi.Vo.tiH7725mine handיָדִ֔יya.DiH3027,and wroughtוָאַ֖עַשׂva.'A.'asH6213for my name’sשְׁמִ֑יshe.MiH8034sake, that it should not be pollutedהֵחֵל֙he.ChelH2490in the sightלְעֵינֵ֣יle.'ei.NeiH5869of the heathenהַגּוֹיִ֔םha.go.YimH1471,in whose sightלְעֵינֵיהֶֽם׃le.'ei.nei.HemH5869I brought them forthהוֹצֵ֥אתִיho.Tze.tiH3318.

23I lifted upנָשָׂ֧אתִיna.Sa.tiH5375mine handיָדִ֛יya.DiH3027unto them also in the wildernessבַּמִּדְבָּ֑רba.mid.BarH4057,that I would scatterלְהָפִ֤יץle.ha.FitzH6327them among the heathenבַּגּוֹיִ֔םba.go.YimH1471,and disperseוּלְזָר֥וֹתu.le.za.RotH2219them through the countriesבָּאֲרָצֽוֹת׃ba.'a.ra.TzotH776;

24Because they had not executedעָשׂוּ֙'a.SuH6213my judgmentsמִשְׁפָּטַ֤יmish.pa.TaiH4941,but had despisedמָאָ֔סוּma.'A.suH3988my statutesוְחֻקּוֹתַ֣יve.chu.ko.TaiH2708,and had pollutedחִלֵּ֑לוּchi.Le.luH2490my sabbathsשַׁבְּתוֹתַ֖יsha.be.to.TaiH7676,and their eyesעֵינֵיהֶֽם׃'ei.nei.HemH5869were afterוְאַחֲרֵי֙ve.'a.cha.ReiH310their fathers’אֲבוֹתָ֔ם'a.vo.TamH1idolsגִּלּוּלֵ֣יgi.lu.LeiH1544.

25Wherefore I gaveנָתַ֣תִּיna.Ta.tiH5414them also statutesחֻקִּ֖יםchu.KimH2706that werenot goodטוֹבִ֑יםto.VimH2896,and judgmentsוּמִ֨שְׁפָּטִ֔יםu.Mish.pa.TimH4941whereby they should not liveיִֽחְי֖וּyich.YuH2421;

26And I pollutedוָאֲטַמֵּ֤אva.'a.ta.Me'H2930them in their own giftsבְּמַתְּנוֹתָ֔םbe.ma.te.no.TamH4979,in that they caused to pass throughבְּהַעֲבִ֖ירbe.ha.'a.VirH5674the fireall that openethפֶּ֣טֶרPe.terH6363the wombרָ֑חַםRa.chamH7356,that I might make them desolateאֲשִׁמֵּ֔ם'a.shi.MemH8074,to the end that they might knowיֵֽדְע֔וּye.de.'UH3045that I amYhwhיְהוָֽה׃ סYah.wehH3068.

27Therefore, sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of manאָדָ֔ם'a.DamH120,speakדַּבֵּ֨רda.BerH1696unto the houseבֵּ֤יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478,and sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֣ve.'a.mar.TaH559unto them, Thus saithאָמַ֖ר'a.MarH559the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136Yhwhיְהוִ֑הYah.wehH3069;Yet in this your fathersאֲב֣וֹתֵיכֶ֔ם'a.Vo.tei.KhemH1have blasphemedגִּדְּפ֤וּgi.de.FuH1442me, in that they have committedבְּמַעֲלָ֥םbe.ma.'a.LamH4603a trespassמָֽעַל׃Ma.'alH4604against me.

28Forwhen I had broughtוָאֲבִיאֵם֙va.'a.vi.'EmH935them into the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776, forthe which I lifted upנָשָׂ֙אתִי֙na.Sa.tiH5375mine handיָדִ֔יya.DiH3027to giveלָתֵ֥תla.TetH5414it to them, then they sawוַיִּרְאוּ֩vai.yir.'UH7200every highרָמָ֜הra.MahH7311hillגִּבְעָ֨הgiv.'AhH1389,and all the thickעָבֹ֗ת'a.VotH5687treesעֵ֣ץ'etzH6086,and they offeredוַיִּזְבְּחוּ־vai.yiz.be.chu-H2076there their sacrificesזִבְחֵיהֶם֙ziv.chei.HemH2077,and there they presentedוַיִּתְּנוּ־vai.yi.te.nu-H5414the provocationכַּ֣עַסKa.'asH3708of their offeringקָרְבָּנָ֔םka.re.ba.NamH7133:there also they madeוַיָּשִׂ֣ימוּvai.ya.Si.muH7760their sweetנִיח֣וֹחֵיהֶ֔םni.Cho.chei.HemH5207savourרֵ֚יחַRei.achH7381,and poured outוַיַּסִּ֥יכוּvai.ya.Si.khuH5258there their drink offeringsנִסְכֵּיהֶֽם׃nis.kei.HemH5262.

29Then I saidוָאֹמַ֣רva.'o.MarH559unto them, What isthe high placeהַבָּמָ֔הha.ba.MahH1116whereunto ye goהַבָּאִ֖יםha.ba.'ImH935?And the nameשְׁמָהּ֙she.MahH8034thereof is calledוַיִּקָּרֵ֤אvai.yi.ka.Re'H7121Bamahבָּמָ֔הba.MahH1117unto this dayהַיּ֥וֹםhai.YomH3117.

32And that which comethוְהָֽעֹלָה֙ve.ha.'o.LahH5927into your mindר֣וּחֲכֶ֔םru.cha.KhemH7307shall not be at all, that ye sayאֹמְרִ֗ים'o.me.RimH559,We will beH1961as the heathenכַגּוֹיִם֙kha.go.YimH1471,as the familiesכְּמִשְׁפְּח֣וֹתke.mish.pe.ChotH4940of the countriesהָאֲרָצ֔וֹתha.'a.ra.TzotH776,to serveלְשָׁרֵ֖תle.sha.RetH8334woodעֵ֥ץ'etzH6086and stoneוָאָֽבֶן׃va.'A.venH68.

33AsI liveחַי־chai-H2416,saithנְאֻ֖םne.'UmH5002the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136Yhwhיְהוִ֑הYah.wehH3069,surely with a mightyחֲזָקָ֜הcha.za.KahH2389handבְּיָ֨דbe.YadH3027,and with a stretched outנְטוּיָ֛הne.tu.YahH5186armוּבִזְר֧וֹעַu.viz.Ro.a'H2220,and with furyוּבְחֵמָ֥הu.ve.che.MahH2534poured outשְׁפוּכָ֖הshe.fu.KhahH8210,will I ruleאֶמְל֥וֹךְ'em.LokhH4427over you:

35And I will bringוְהֵבֵאתִ֣יve.he.ve.TiH935you into the wildernessמִדְבַּ֖רmid.BarH4057of the peopleהָֽעַמִּ֑יםha.'a.MimH5971,and there will I pleadוְנִשְׁפַּטְתִּ֤יve.nish.pa.TiH8199with you faceפָּנִ֖יםpa.NimH6440to faceפָּנִֽים׃pa.NimH6440.

37And I will cause you to passוְהַעֲבַרְתִּ֥יve.ha.'a.var.TiH5674under the rodהַשָּׁ֑בֶטha.Sha.vetH7626,and I will bringוְהֵבֵאתִ֥יve.he.ve.TiH935you into the bondבְּמָסֹ֥רֶתbe.ma.So.retH4562of the covenantהַבְּרִֽית׃ha.be.RitH1285:
