7Howbeit Yhwhיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068wouldאָבָ֣ה'a.VahH14not destroyלְהַשְׁחִית֙le.hash.ChitH7843the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Davidדָּוִ֔ידda.VidH1732,because of the covenantהַבְּרִ֔יתha.be.RitH1285that he had madeכָּרַ֖תka.RatH3772with Davidלְדָוִ֑ידle.da.VidH1732,and as he promisedאָמַ֗ר'a.MarH559to giveלָתֵ֨תla.TetH5414a lightנִ֛ירnirH5216to him and to his sonsוּלְבָנָ֖יוu.le.va.NavH1121for everהַיָּמִֽים׃hai.ya.MimH3117.

8In his daysבְּיָמָיו֙be.ya.MavH3117the Edomitesאֱד֔וֹם'e.DomH123revoltedפָּשַׁ֣עpa.Sha'H6586from under the dominionיַד־yad-H3027of Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063,and madeוַיַּמְלִ֥יכוּvai.yam.Li.khuH4427themselves a kingמֶֽלֶךְ׃Me.lekhH4428.

9Then Jehoramיְהוֹרָם֙ye.ho.RamH3088went forthוַיַּֽעֲבֹ֤רvai.ya.'a.VorH5674with his princesשָׂרָ֔יוsa.RavH8269,and all his chariotsהָרֶ֖כֶבha.Re.khevH7393with him: and he rose upקָ֣םkamH6965by nightלַ֔יְלָהLay.lahH3915,and smoteוַיַּ֗ךְvai.YakhH5221the Edomitesאֱדוֹם֙'e.dOmH123which compassed him inהַסּוֹבֵ֣בha.so.VevH5437,and the captainsשָׂרֵ֥יsa.ReiH8269of the chariotsהָרָֽכֶב׃ha.Ra.khevH7393.

10So the Edomitesאֱד֜וֹם'e.DomH123revoltedוַיִּפְשַׁ֨עvai.yif.Sha'H6586from under the handיַד־yad-H3027of Judahיְהוּדָ֗הye.hu.DahH3063unto this dayהַיּ֣וֹםhai.YomH3117.The same timeבָּעֵ֥תba.'EtH6256alsodid Libnahלִבְנָ֛הliv.NahH3841revoltתִּפְשַׁ֥עtif.Sha'H6586from under his handיָד֑וֹya.DoH3027;because he had forsakenעָזַ֔ב'a.ZavH5800Yhwhיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵ֥י'e.lo.HeiH430of his fathersאֲבֹתָֽיו׃'a.vo.TavH1.

11Moreover he madeעָשָֽׂה־'a.sah-H6213high placesבָמ֖וֹתva.MotH1116in the mountainsבְּהָרֵ֣יbe.ha.ReiH2022of Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063,and caused the inhabitantsיֹשְׁבֵ֣יyo.she.VeiH3427of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֔םye.ru.sha.LimH3389to commit fornicationוַיֶּ֙זֶן֙vai.Ye.zenH2181,and compelledוַיַּדַּ֖חvai.ya.DachH5080Judahיְהוּדָֽה׃ פye.hu.DahH3063thereto.

16Moreover Yhwhיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068stirred upוַיָּ֨עַרvai.Ya.'arH5782against Jehoramיְהוֹרָ֗םye.ho.RamH3088the spiritר֤וּחַRu.achH7307of the Philistinesהַפְּלִשְׁתִּים֙ha.pe.lish.TimH6430,and of the Arabiansוְהָ֣עַרְבִ֔יםve.Ha.'ar.VimH6163, that werenearיַ֥דyadH3027 H5921the Ethiopiansכּוּשִֽׁים׃ku.ShimH3569:

17And they came upוַיַּעֲל֤וּvai.ya.'a.LuH5927into Judahבִֽיהוּדָה֙vi.hu.DahH3063,and brakeוַיִּבְקָע֔וּהָvai.yiv.ka.'U.haH1234into it, and carried awayוַיִּשְׁבּ֗וּvai.yish.BuH7617all the substanceהָרְכוּשׁ֙ha.re.KhushH7399that was foundהַנִּמְצָ֣אha.nim.Tza'H4672in the king’sהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428houseלְבֵית־le.veit-H1004,and his sonsבָּנָ֖יוba.NavH1121also, and his wivesוְנָשָׁ֑יוve.na.ShavH802;so that there was never a sonבֵּ֔ןBenH1121leftנִשְׁאַר־nish.'ar-H7604him, save Jehoahazיְהוֹאָחָ֖זye.ho.'a.ChazH3059,the youngestקְטֹ֥ןke.TonH6996of his sonsבָּנָֽיו׃ba.NavH1121.
