Romans 9:25-33
25as He alsoG2532 saysG3004 in HoseaG5617: “1I will callG2564 thoseG3588 who were not My peopleG2992, ‘My peopleG2992,’ And her who was not belovedG25, ‘belovedG25.’”26“2And it shall be that in the placeG5117 whereG3757 it was saidG3004 to them, ‘you are not My peopleG2992,’ ThereG1563 they shall be calledG2564 sonsG5207 of 3the livingG2198 GodG2316.”
27IsaiahG2268 criesG2896 outG2896 concerningG5228 IsraelG2474, “4ThoughG1437 the numberG706 of the sonsG5207 of IsraelG2474 may be 5likeG5613 the sandG285 of the seaG2281, only 6the remnantG5275 will be savedG4982; 287for the LordG2962 will executeG4160 His wordG3056 on the earthG1093, 8thoroughlyG4931 and 9quicklyG4932.” 29And justG2531 asG2531 IsaiahG2268 foretoldG4275: “10IfG1487 11the LordG2962 12of armiesG4519 had not leftG1459 us 1314descendantsG4690, 15We would have becomeG1096 likeG5613 SodomG4670, and would have 16beenG3666 likeG3666 GomorrahG1116.”
3017WhatG5101 shall we sayG3004 thenG3767? That GentilesG1484, who did not pursueG1377 righteousnessG1343, attainedG2638 righteousnessG1343, but 18the righteousnessG1343 that is 19by faithG4102; 31howeverG1161, IsraelG2474, 20pursuingG1377 a lawG3551 of righteousnessG1343, did not 21arriveG5348 at that lawG3551. 32WhyG1223G5101? BecauseG3754 they did not pursue it 22by faithG4102, but asG5613 thoughG5613 they could 23by worksG2041. They stumbledG4350 overG4350 24the stumblingG4348 stoneG3037, 33justG2531 asG2531 it is writtenG1125: “25BeholdG2400, I am layingG5087 in ZionG4622 26a stoneG3037 of stumblingG4348 and a rockG4073 of offenseG4625, 27And the one who believesG4100 in Him 28will not be 29putG2617 toG2617 shameG2617.”
