Jeremiah 52
The Fall of Jerusalem
11ZedekiahH6667 was twenty-oneH6242H259 yearsH8141 oldH1121 when he becameH4427 kingH4427, and he reignedH4427 for elevenH259H6240 yearsH8141 in JerusalemH3389; and his mother’sH517 nameH8034 was 23HamutalH2537 the daughterH1323 of JeremiahH3414 of 4LibnahH3841. 2He didH6213 5evilH7451 in the sightH5869 of the LordH3068, in accordance with everythingH3605 that 6JehoiakimH3079 had doneH6213. 3For becauseH5921 of the 7angerH639 of the LordH3068 this cameH1961 aboutH1961 in JerusalemH3389 and JudahH3063, untilH5704 He droveH7993 them outH7993 from His presenceH6440. And ZedekiahH6667 8revoltedH4775 against the kingH4428 of BabylonH894. 49Now it cameH1961 aboutH1961 in the ninthH8671 yearH8141 of his reignH4427, on the tenthH6218 day of the tenthH6224 monthH2320, that NebuchadnezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894 cameH935, he and allH3605 his armyH2428, againstH5921 JerusalemH3389, campedH2583 againstH5921 it, and builtH1129 a 1011bulwarkH1785 allH5439 aroundH5439 12it. 513So the cityH5892 was under siegeH4692 untilH5704 the eleventhH6249H6240 yearH8141 of KingH4428 ZedekiahH6667. 6On the ninthH8672 day of the 14fourthH7243 monthH2320 the 15famineH7458 was so severeH2388 in the cityH5892 that there was noH3808 foodH3899 for the peopleH5971 of the landH776. 7Then the cityH5892 was 16breachedH1234, and allH3605 the 17warriorsH376H4421 fledH1272 and leftH3318 the cityH5892 at nightH3915 by wayH1870 of the gateH8179 betweenH996 the two wallsH2346 whichH834 was by the king’sH4428 gardenH1588, though the ChaldeansH3778 were 1819allH5439 aroundH5439 the cityH5892. And they wentH1980 by wayH1870 of the ArabahH6160. 8But the armyH2428 of the ChaldeansH3778 pursuedH7291 the kingH4428 and 20overtookH5381 ZedekiahH6667 in the 21desertH6160 plainsH6160 of JerichoH3405, and allH3605 his armyH2428 was scatteredH6327 from him. 9Then they capturedH8610 the kingH4428 and 22broughtH5927 him upH5927 to the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 at 23RiblahH7247 in the landH776 of 24HamathH2574, and he 25passedH1696 sentenceH1696 on him. 10And the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 26slaughteredH7819 the sonsH1121 of ZedekiahH6667 before his eyesH5869, and he alsoH1571 slaughteredH7819 allH3605 the commandersH8269 of JudahH3063 in RiblahH7247. 11Then he 27blindedH5786 the eyesH5869 of ZedekiahH6667; and the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 boundH631 him with bronzeH5178 shacklesH5178 and broughtH935 him to BabylonH894 and putH5414 him in prisonH1004H6486 untilH5704 the dayH3117 of his deathH4194.
1228Now on the tenthH6218 day of the fifthH2549 monthH2320, whichH1931 was the 29nineteenthH8672H6240 yearH8141 of KingH4428 NebuchadnezzarH5019, kingH4428 of BabylonH894, 30NebuzaradanH5018 the captainH7227 of the bodyguardH2876, who 31wasH5975H6440 inH5975H6440 theH5975H6440 serviceH5975H6440 ofH5975H6440 the kingH4428 of BabylonH894, cameH935 to JerusalemH3389. 13And he 32burnedH8313 the houseH1004 of the LordH3068, the 33king’sH4428 houseH1004, and allH3605 the housesH1004 of JerusalemH3389; even everyH3605 largeH1419 houseH1004 he burnedH8313 with fireH784. 14So the entireH3605 armyH2428 of the ChaldeansH3778 whoH834 were with the captainH7227 of the guardH2876 34toreH5422 downH5422 allH3605 the wallsH2346 aroundH5439 JerusalemH3389. 15Then NebuzaradanH5018 the captainH7227 of the guardH2876 35tookH1540 intoH1540 exileH1540 someH4480 of the poorestH1803 of the peopleH5971, the restH3499 of the peopleH5971 who were leftH7604 in the cityH5892, the 36desertersH5307 whoH834 had desertedH5307 to the kingH4428 of BabylonH894, and the restH3499 of the craftsmenH525. 16But 37NebuzaradanH5018 the captainH7227 of the guardH2876 leftH7604 someH4480 of the poorestH1803 of the landH776 to be vinedressersH3755 and farmersH3009.
17Now the bronzeH5178 38pillarsH5982 whichH834 belonged to the houseH1004 of the LordH3068 and the 39standsH4350 and the bronzeH5178 4041seaH3220, whichH834 were in the houseH1004 of the LordH3068, the ChaldeansH3778 smashedH7665 toH7665 piecesH7665 and carriedH5375 allH3605 their bronzeH5178 to BabylonH894. 18They also tookH3947 the 42potsH5518, the shovelsH3257, the snuffersH4212, the basinsH4219, the 43pansH3709, and allH3605 the bronzeH5178 vesselsH3627 whichH834 were usedH8334 in templeH8334 serviceH8334. 19The captainH7227 of the guardH2876 also tookH3947 the 44bowlsH5592, the firepansH4289, the basinsH4219, the potsH5518, the lampstandsH4501, the 45pansH3709, and the drinkH4518 offeringH4518 bowlsH4518, whateverH834 was fineH2091 goldH2091, and whateverH834 was fineH3701 silverH3701. 20The twoH8147 pillarsH5982, the oneH259 46seaH3220, and the twelveH8147H6240 bronzeH5178 bullsH1241 that were underH8478 47the seaH3220, and the standsH4350, whichH834 KingH4428 SolomonH8010 had madeH6213 for the houseH1004 of the LordH3068--the bronzeH5178 of allH3605 theseH428 vesselsH3627 was 48beyondH3808 weightH4948. 21As for the pillarsH5982, the 49heightH6967 of eachH259 pillarH5982 was 50eighteenH8083H6240 cubitsH520, and 51it was twelveH8147H6240 cubitsH520 in 52circumferenceH5437H2339 and fourH702 fingersH676 in thicknessH5672, and hollowH5014. 22Also, a 53capitalH3805 of bronzeH5178 was on topH5921 of it; and the heightH6967 of eachH259 capitalH3805 was 54fiveH2568 cubitsH520, with latticeworkH7639 and 55pomegranatesH7416 on the capitalH3805 allH5439 aroundH5439, allH3605 of bronzeH5178. And the secondH8145 pillarH5982 was like theseH428, including pomegranatesH7416. 23There were ninety-sixH8673H8337 56exposedH7307 pomegranatesH7416; allH3605 57the pomegranatesH7416 numbered a hundredH3967 on the latticeworkH7639 allH5439 aroundH5439.
24Then the captainH7227 of the guardH2876 tookH3947 58SeraiahH8304 the chiefH7218 priestH3548 and 59ZephaniahH6846 the secondH4932 priestH3548, with the threeH7969 6061officersH8104 of the templeH5592. 25He also tookH3947 from the cityH5892 oneH259 officialH5631 whoH834 was overseerH6496 of the warriorsH376H4421, sevenH7651 62of the 63king’sH4428 advisersH582H7200 whoH834 were foundH4672 in the cityH5892, the scribeH5613 of the commanderH8269 of the armyH6635 who musteredH6633 the peopleH5971 of the landH776, and sixtyH8346 menH376 from the peopleH5971 of the landH776 who were foundH4672 insideH8432 the cityH5892. 26NebuzaradanH5018 the captainH7227 of the bodyguardsH2876 tookH3947 them and 64broughtH1980 them to the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 at RiblahH7247. 27Then the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 65struckH5221 them and putH4191 them toH4191 deathH4191 in RiblahH7247 in the landH776 of HamathH2574. So JudahH3063 was 66ledH1540 intoH1540 exileH1540 from its landH127.
28TheseH2088 are the peopleH5971 whomH834 67NebuchadnezzarH5019 tookH1540 intoH1540 exileH1540: in the 68seventhH7651 yearH8141 3,023H7969H505H6242 JewsH3064; 29in the eighteenthH8083H6240 yearH8141 of NebuchadnezzarH5019 832H8083H3967H7970H8147 personsH5315 from JerusalemH3389; 30in the twenty-thirdH6242H7969 yearH8141 of NebuchadnezzarH5019, 69NebuzaradanH5018 the captainH7227 of the guardH2876 tookH1540 intoH1540 exileH1540 745H7651H3967H705H2568 JewishH3064 peopleH5315; there were 4,600H702H505H8337H3967 peopleH5315 in allH3605.
3170Now it cameH1961 aboutH1961 in the thirty-seventhH7970H7651 yearH8141 of the exileH1546 of JehoiachinH3078 kingH4428 of JudahH3063, in the twelfthH8147H6240 monthH2320, on the twenty-fifthH6242H2568 of the monthH2320, that 71Evil-merodachH192 kingH4428 of BabylonH894, in the first yearH8141 of his reignH4438, 7273showedH5375 favorH5375H7218 to JehoiachinH3078 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 and broughtH3318 him outH3318 of prisonH1004H3628. 3274Then he spokeH1696 kindlyH2899 to him and setH5414 his throneH3678 aboveH4480H4605 the thronesH3678 of the kingsH4428 whoH834 were with him in BabylonH894. 33So 75Jehoiachin 76changedH8132 his prisonH3608 clothesH899, and 7778hadH398 his mealsH3899 in 79the king’s presenceH6440 regularlyH8548 allH3605 the daysH3117 of his lifeH2425. 34And as his allowanceH737, a 80regularH8548 allowanceH737 was givenH5414 to him by the kingH4428 of BabylonH894, a portionH1697 for eachH3117 dayH3117, allH3605 the daysH3117 of his lifeH2425 untilH5704 the dayH3117 of his deathH4194.
