Jerusalem to Be Attacked

1The pronouncementמַשָּׂ֥אma.Sa'H4853of the wordדְבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068concerningעַל־'al-H5921Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478:The Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068whostretchesנֹטֶ֤הno.TehH5186outH5186the heavensשָׁמַ֙יִם֙sha.Ma.yimH8064,laysH3245the foundationH3245of the earthאָ֔רֶץ'A.retzH776, andformsוְיֹצֵ֥רve.yo.TzerH3335the spiritרֽוּחַ־Ru.ach-H7307of a personאָדָ֖ם'a.DamH120withinבְּקִרְבּֽוֹ׃ פbe.kir.BoH7130him, declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002:

2“Beholdהִנֵּ֣הhi.NehH2009,I am going to makeשָׂ֣םsamH7760Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֧םye.ru.sha.LimH3389acupסַף־saf-H5592that causes staggeringרַ֛עַלRa.'alH7478to allלְכָל־le.kholH3605the peoplesהָעַמִּ֖יםha.'a.MimH5971aroundסָבִ֑יבsa.VivH5439;and when the siegeבַמָּצ֖וֹרva.ma.TzorH4692is againstעַל־'al-H5921Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ye.ru.sha.LimH3389,it will alsoוְגַ֧םve.GamH1571be againstעַל־'al-H5921Judahיְהוּדָ֛הye.hu.DahH3063.

3It will comeH1961aboutH1961on that dayבַיּוֹם־vai.yom-H3117that I will makeאָשִׂ֨ים'a.SimH7760Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֜םye.ru.sha.LimH3389a heavyמַֽעֲמָסָה֙ma.'a.ma.SahH4614stoneאֶ֤בֶן'E.venH68for allלְכָל־le.kholH3605the peoplesהָ֣עַמִּ֔יםha.'a.MimH5971;allכָּל־kol-H3605who liftעֹמְסֶ֖יהָ'o.me.Sei.haH6006it willinjureשָׂר֣וֹטsa.RotH8295themselves severelyיִשָּׂרֵ֑טוּyi.sa.Re.tuH8295.And allכֹּ֖לkolH3605thenationsגּוֹיֵ֥יgo.YeiH1471of the earthהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776will be gatheredוְנֶאֶסְפ֣וּve.ne.'es.FuH622againstעָלֶ֔יהָ'a.Lei.haH5921it.

4On that dayבַּיּ֨וֹםbai.YomH3117,”declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068, “I will strikeאַכֶּ֤ה'a.KehH5221everyכָל־khol-H3605horseסוּס֙susH5483with confusionבַּתִּמָּה֔וֹןba.ti.ma.HonH8541and its riderוְרֹכְב֖וֹve.ro.khe.VoH7392with insanityבַּשִּׁגָּע֑וֹןba.shi.ga.'onH7697. But I willwatchאֶפְקַ֣ח עֵינַ֔י'ef.Kach 'ei.NaiH6491 H5869overוְעַל־ve.'al-H5921the houseבֵּ֤יתbeitH1004of Judahיְהוּדָה֙ye.hu.DahH3063,while I strikeאַכֶּ֖ה'a.KehH5221everyוְכֹל֙ve.KholH3605horseס֣וּסsusH5483of the peoplesהָֽעַמִּ֔יםha.'a.MimH5971with blindnessבַּֽעִוָּרֽוֹן׃Ba.'i.va.RonH5788.

5Then theclansH505of Judahיְהוּדָ֖הye.hu.DahH3063will sayוְאָֽמְר֛וּve.'a.me.RuH559in their heartsבְּלִבָּ֑םbe.li.BamH3820, ‘The inhabitantsיֹשְׁבֵ֣יyo.she.VeiH3427of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֔םye.ru.sha.LimH3389are astrongH556supportH556for us through the Lordבַּיהוָ֥הba.Yah.wehH3068of armiesצְבָא֖וֹתtze.va.'otH6635,their Godאֱלֹהֵיהֶֽם׃'e.lo.hei.HemH430.’

6“On that dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117I will makeאָשִׂים֩'a.SimH7760theclansH505of Judahיְהוּדָ֜הye.hu.DahH3063like afirepotכְּֽכִיּ֧וֹר אֵ֣שׁke.khi.Yor 'eshH784 H3595among pieces of woodבְּעֵצִ֗יםbe.'e.TzimH6086and a flamingאֵשׁ֙'eshH784torchוּכְלַפִּ֥ידu.khe.la.PidH3940among sheavesבְּעָמִ֔ירbe.'a.MirH5995,so they will consumeוְאָ֨כְל֜וּve.'A.khe.LuH398on the rightיָמִ֧יןya.MinH3225and on the leftשְׂמֹ֛אולse.MolH8040allכָּל־kol-H3605the surroundingסָבִ֑יבsa.VivH5439peoplesהָעַמִּ֖יםha.'a.MimH5971, while theinhabitants of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֥םye.ru.sha.LimH3389againע֛וֹדodH5750liveוְיָשְׁבָ֨הve.ya.she.VahH3427onH8478their own sitesH8478in Jerusalemבִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ פbi.ru.sha.LimH3389.

7The Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068also willsaveוְהוֹשִׁ֧יעַve.ho.Shi.a'H3467the tentsאָהֳלֵ֥י'o.ho.LeiH168of Judahיְהוּדָ֖הye.hu.DahH3063firstבָּרִֽאשֹׁנָ֑הba.ri.sho.NahH7223,soלְמַ֨עַןle.Ma.'anH4616thatH4616the gloryתִּפְאֶ֣רֶתtif.'E.retH8597of the houseבֵּית־beit-H1004ofDavidדָּוִ֗ידda.VidH1732and the gloryוְתִפְאֶ֛רֶתve.tif.'E.retH8597of the inhabitantsיֹשֵׁ֥בyo.ShevH3427of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֖םye.ru.sha.LimH3389will not be greaterתִגְדַּ֜לtig.DalH1431thanעַל־'al-H5921Judahיְהוּדָֽה׃ye.hu.DahH3063.

8On that dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068willprotectיָגֵ֤ןya.GenH1598the inhabitantsיוֹשֵׁ֣בyo.ShevH3427of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֔םye.ru.sha.LimH3389, and the one whois feebleהַנִּכְשָׁ֥לha.nikh.ShalH3782among them on that dayבַּיּ֥וֹםbai.YomH3117will be like Davidכְּדָוִ֑ידke.da.VidH1732,and the houseוּבֵ֤יתu.VeitH1004of Davidדָּוִיד֙da.VidH1732will be likeGodכֵּֽאלֹהִ֔יםke.lo.HimH430, like theangelכְּמַלְאַ֥ךְke.mal.'AkhH4397of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068beforeלִפְנֵיהֶֽם׃lif.nei.HemH6440them.

9And on that dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117I willseekאֲבַקֵּ֗שׁ'a.va.KeshH1245to destroyלְהַשְׁמִיד֙le.hash.MidH8045allכָּל־kol-H3605the nationsהַגּוֹיִ֔םha.go.YimH1471that comeהַבָּאִ֖יםha.ba.'ImH935againstעַל־'al-H5921Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ye.ru.sha.LimH3389.

10“And I willpourוְשָׁפַכְתִּי֩ve.sha.fakh.TiH8210outH8210on the houseבֵּ֨יתbeitH1004of Davidדָּוִ֜ידda.VidH1732and on the inhabitantsיוֹשֵׁ֣בyo.ShevH3427of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֗םye.ru.sha.LimH3389the Spiritר֤וּחַRu.achH7307of graceחֵן֙chenH2580and of pleadingוְתַ֣חֲנוּנִ֔יםve.Ta.cha.nu.NimH8469,so that they will lookוְהִבִּ֥יטוּve.hi.Bi.tuH5027at Me whomאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834theypiercedדָּקָ֑רוּda.Ka.ruH1856;and they will mournוְסָפְד֣וּve.sa.fe.DuH5594for Him, like onemourningH5594for an onlyהַיָּחִ֔ידhai.ya.ChidH3173sonH3173,and they will weepH4843bitterlyH4843overH5921Him like the bitterH4843weepingH4843overH5921a firstbornהַבְּכֽוֹר׃ha.be.KhorH1060.

11On that dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117themourningהַמִּסְפֵּד֙ha.mis.PedH4553in Jerusalemבִּיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔םbi.Ru.sha.LimH3389will beH1431greatיִגְדַּ֤לyig.DalH1431,like the mourningכְּמִסְפַּ֥דke.mis.PadH4553of HadadrimmonH1910in theplainבְּבִקְעַ֥תbe.vik.'AtH1237ofMegiddoמְגִדּֽוֹן׃me.gi.DonH4023.

12The landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776will mournוְסָפְדָ֣הve.sa.fe.DahH5594,everyמִשְׁפָּח֥וֹתmish.pa.ChotH4940familyמִשְׁפָּח֖וֹתmish.pa.ChotH4940byH905itselfH905;the familyמִשְׁפַּ֨חַתmish.Pa.chatH4940of the houseבֵּית־beit-H1004of Davidדָּוִ֤ידda.VidH1732byH905itselfH905and their wivesוּנְשֵׁיהֶ֣םu.ne.shei.HemH802byH905themselvesH905;the familyמִשְׁפַּ֤חַתmish.Pa.chatH4940of the houseבֵּית־beit-H1004of Nathanנָתָן֙na.TanH5416byH905itselfH905and their wivesוּנְשֵׁיהֶ֖םu.ne.shei.HemH802byH905themselvesH905;
