15Then she saidוַתֹּ֣אמֶרva.To.merH559to him, “Howאֵ֚יךְ'eikhH349can you sayתֹּאמַ֣רto.MarH559, ‘I loveאֲהַבְתִּ֔יךְ'a.hav.TikhH157you,’ when your heartוְלִבְּךָ֖ve.li.be.KhaH3820is not with me? You have toyedH8524with me theseזֶ֣הzehH2088threeשָׁלֹ֤שׁsha.LoshH7969timesפְּעָמִים֙pe.'a.MimH6471and have not toldהִגַּ֣דְתָּhi.Gad.taH5046me whereבַּמֶּ֖הba.MehH4100your greatגָדֽוֹל׃ga.DolH1419strengthכֹּחֲךָ֥ko.cha.KhaH3581is.”

16And it cameH1961aboutH1961,whenכִּֽי־ki-H3588she pressedהֵצִ֨יקָהhe.Tzi.kahH6693him dailyהַיָּמִ֖יםhai.ya.MimH3117with her wordsבִדְבָרֶ֛יהָvid.va.Rei.haH1697and urgedוַתְּאַֽלֲצֵ֑הוּva.te.'a.la.Tze.huH509him, that his soulנַפְשׁ֖וֹnaf.ShoH5315wasannoyedוַתִּקְצַ֥רva.tik.TzarH7114to deathלָמֽוּת׃la.MutH4191.

17So he toldוַיַּגֶּד־vai.ya.ged-H5046her allכָּל־kol-H3605that was inhis heartלִבּ֗וֹli.BoH3820and saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to her, “A razorמוֹרָה֙mo.RahH4177has neverלֹֽא־lo'-H3808comeעָלָ֣ה'a.LahH5927on my headרֹאשִׁ֔יro.ShiH7218, for I have been aNaziriteנְזִ֧ירne.ZirH5139to Godאֱלֹהִ֛ים'E.lo.HimH430from my mother’sאִמִּ֑י'i.MiH517wombמִבֶּ֣טֶןmi.Be.tenH990.Ifאִם־'im-H518I am shavedגֻּלַּ֙חְתִּי֙gu.Lach.tiH1548,then my strengthכֹחִ֔יkho.ChiH3581will leaveוְסָ֣ר מִמֶּ֣נִּיve.Sar mi.Me.niH5493 H4480me and I will becomeH2470weakוְחָלִ֥יתִיve.cha.Li.tiH2470and be like anyכְּכָל־ke.khol-H3605othermanהָאָדָֽם׃ha.'a.DamH120.”

18When Delilahדְלִילָ֗הde.li.LahH1807sawוַתֵּ֣רֶאva.Te.re'H7200that he had toldהִגִּ֣ידhi.GidH5046her allכָּל־kol-H3605that was inhis heartלִבּוֹ֒li.BoH3820,she sentוַתִּשְׁלַ֡חva.tish.LachH7971wordand calledוַתִּקְרָא֩va.tik.Ra'H7121the governorsלְסַרְנֵ֨יle.sar.NeiH5633of the Philistinesפְלִשְׁתִּ֤יםfe.lish.TimH6430,sayingלֵאמֹר֙le.MorH559, “ComeH5927upH5927onceH6471moreH6471,for he has toldהִגִּ֥ידhi.GidH5046me allכָּל־kol-H3605that is inhis heartלִבּ֑וֹli.BoH3820.”Then the governorsסַרְנֵ֣יsar.NeiH5633of the Philistinesפְלִשְׁתִּ֔יםfe.lish.TimH6430cameH5927upH5927to her and broughtH5927upH5927the moneyהַכֶּ֖סֶףha.Ke.sefH3701in their handsבְּיָדָֽם׃be.ya.DamH3027.

19And she made him sleepוַתְּיַשְּׁנֵ֙הוּ֙va.te.ya.she.Ne.huH3462on her kneesבִּרְכֶּ֔יהָbir.Kei.haH1290,and calledוַתִּקְרָ֣אva.tik.Ra'H7121for a manלָאִ֔ישׁla.'IshH376and had him shaveH1548offH1548the sevenשֶׁ֖בַעShe.va'H7651locksמַחְלְפ֣וֹתmach.le.FotH4253of his headרֹאשׁ֑וֹro.ShoH7218.Then she beganוַתָּ֙חֶל֙va.Ta.chelH2490to humbleלְעַנּוֹת֔וֹle.'a.no.ToH6031him, and his strengthכֹּח֖וֹko.ChoH3581leftוַיָּ֥סַרvai.Ya.sarH5493him.

20She saidוַתֹּ֕אמֶרva.To.merH559, “The Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּ֥יםpe.lish.TimH6430are upon you, Samsonשִׁמְשׁ֑וֹןshim.ShonH8123!”And he awokeוַיִּקַ֣ץvai.yi.KatzH3364from his sleepמִשְּׁנָת֗וֹmi.she.na.ToH8142and saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559, “I will goאֵצֵ֞א'e.Tze'H3318outH3318as at otherכְּפַ֤עַםke.Fa.'amH6471timesבְּפַ֙עַם֙be.Fa.'amH6471and shakeוְאִנָּעֵ֔רve.'i.na.'ErH5287myself freeH5287.”But he did not knowיָדַ֔עya.Da'H3045thatthe Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068had departedסָ֥רsarH5493from him.

21Then the Philistinesפְלִשְׁתִּ֔יםfe.lish.TimH6430seizedוַיֹּאחֲז֣וּהוּvai.yo.cha.Zu.huH270him and gougedH5365outH5365his eyesעֵינָ֑יו'ei.NavH5869;and they broughtH3381him downוַיּוֹרִ֨ידוּvai.yo.Ri.duH3381to Gazaעַזָּ֗תָה'a.Za.tahH5804and restrainedוַיַּאַסְר֙וּהוּ֙vai.ya.'as.Ru.huH631him with bronzeבַּֽנְחֻשְׁתַּ֔יִםban.chush.Ta.yimH5178chainsH5178,and he becameוַיְהִ֥יvay.HiH1961a grinderטוֹחֵ֖ןto.ChenH2912in the prisonבְּבֵ֥ית הָאֲסוּרִֽים׃be.Veit ha.'a.si.rimH1004 H631.

22However, the hairשְׂעַר־se.'ar-H8181of his headרֹאשׁ֛וֹro.ShoH7218beganוַיָּ֧חֶלvai.Ya.chelH2490to growלְצַמֵּ֖חַle.tza.Me.achH6779againafterH3512it was shavedH1548offH1548.

23Now the governorsוְסַרְנֵ֣יve.sar.NeiH5633of the Philistinesפְלִשְׁתִּ֗יםfe.lish.TimH6430assembledנֶֽאֱסְפוּ֙ne.'es.FuH622to offerלִזְבֹּ֧חַliz.Bo.achH2076a greatגָּד֛וֹלga.DolH1419sacrificeזֶֽבַח־ze.vach-H2077toDagonלְדָג֥וֹןle.da.GonH1712their godאֱלֹהֵיהֶ֖ם'e.lo.hei.HemH430,and to celebrateוּלְשִׂמְחָ֑הu.le.sim.ChahH8057,for they saidוַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּvai.Yo.me.RuH559, “Our godאֱלֹהֵ֙ינוּ֙'e.lo.Hei.nuH430has handedבְּיָדֵ֔נוּbe.ya.De.nuH5414 H3027Samsonשִׁמְשׁ֥וֹןshim.ShonH8123our enemyH340overH5414to us.”

24When the peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971sawוַיִּרְא֤וּvai.yir.'UH7200him,they praisedוַֽיְהַלְל֖וּvay.ha.LuH1984their godאֱלֹהֵיהֶ֑ם'e.lo.hei.HemH430,for they saidאָמְר֗וּ'a.me.RuH559, “Our godאֱלֹהֵ֤ינוּ'e.lo.Hei.nuH430has handedבְיָדֵ֙נוּ֙ve.ya.De.nuH5414 H3027our enemyH340overH5414to us,Even the destroyerמַחֲרִ֣יבma.cha.RivH2717of our countryאַרְצֵ֔נוּ'ar.Tze.nuH776,Whoוַאֲשֶׁ֥רva.'a.SherH834has killedחֲלָלֵֽינוּ׃cha.la.Lei.nuH2491manyהִרְבָּ֖הhir.BahH7235of us.”

25It so happenedוַֽיְהִי֙vay.HiH1961whenthey were in highכְּט֣וֹבke.tovH2895spiritsלִבָּ֔םli.BamH3820,that they saidוַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּvai.Yo.me.RuH559, “Callקִרְא֥וּkir.'UH7121for Samsonלְשִׁמְשׁ֖וֹןle.shim.ShonH8123,that he may amuseוִישַֽׂחֶק־vi.sa.chek-H7832us.” So they calledוַיִּקְרְא֨וּvai.yik.re.'UH7121for Samsonלְשִׁמְשׁ֜וֹןle.shim.ShonH8123from the prisonמִבֵּ֣ית הָאֲסוּרִ֗יםmi.Beit ha.'a.si.rimH1004 H631, and heentertainedוַיְצַחֵק֙ לִפְנֵיהֶ֔םvay.tza.Chek lif.nei.HemH6711 H6440them. And they made him standוַיַּעֲמִ֥ידוּvai.ya.'a.Mi.duH5975betweenבֵּ֥יןbeinH996the pillarsהָעַמּוּדִֽים׃ha.'a.mu.DimH5982.

26Then Samsonשִׁמְשׁ֜וֹןshim.ShonH8123saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to the boyהַנַּ֨עַרha.Na.'arH5288who was holdingהַמַּחֲזִ֣יקha.ma.cha.ZikH2388his handבְּיָדוֹ֮be.ya.DoH3027, “Letהַנִּ֣יחָהha.Ni.chahH5117me feelוַהֲמִשֵׁ֙נִי֙va.hei.mi.she.niH4184the pillarsהָֽעַמֻּדִ֔יםha.'a.mu.DimH5982on whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834the houseהַבַּ֖יִתha.Ba.yitH1004restsנָכ֣וֹןna.KhonH3559,so that I may leanוְאֶשָּׁעֵ֖ןve.'e.sha.'EnH8172againstH5921them.”

27Now the houseוְהַבַּ֗יִתve.ha.Ba.yitH1004was fullמָלֵ֤אma.Le'H4390of menאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376and womenוְהַנָּשִׁ֔יםve.ha.na.ShimH802,and allכֹּ֖לkolH3605the governorsסַרְנֵ֣יsar.NeiH5633of the Philistinesפְלִשְׁתִּ֑יםfe.lish.TimH6430were thereוְשָׁ֕מָּהve.Sha.mahH8033.And about threeכִּשְׁלֹ֤שֶׁתkish.Lo.shetH7969thousandאֲלָפִים֙'a.la.FimH505menH376and womenוְאִשָּׁ֔הve.'i.ShahH802were on the roofהַגָּ֗גha.GagH1406lookingהָרֹאִ֖יםha.ro.'ImH7200on while Samsonשִׁמְשֽׁוֹן׃shim.ShonH8123was entertainingבִּשְׂח֥וֹקbis.ChokH7832them.

28Then Samsonשִׁמְשׁ֛וֹןshim.ShonH8123calledוַיִּקְרָ֥אvai.yik.Ra'H7121to the LordH3068and saidוַיֹּאמַ֑רvai.yo.MarH559, “Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136GodH3068,pleaseנָא֩na'H4994rememberזָכְרֵ֣נִיza.khe.Re.niH2142me and pleaseנָ֜אna'H4994strengthenוְחַזְּקֵ֨נִיve.cha.ze.Ke.niH2388me justאַ֣ךְ'akhH389thisהַזֶּה֙ha.ZehH2088timeהַפַּ֤עַםha.Pa.'amH6471,O Godהָאֱלֹהִ֔יםha.'E.lo.HimH430,that I may at onceאַחַ֛ת'a.ChatH259take vengeanceוְאִנָּקְמָ֧הve.'i.na.ke.MahH5358on the Philistinesמִפְּלִשְׁתִּֽים׃mi.pe.lish.TimH6430for my twoמִשְּׁתֵ֥יmi.she.TeiH8147eyesעֵינַ֖י'ei.NaiH5869.”

29Then Samsonשִׁמְשׁ֜וֹןshim.ShonH8123graspedוַיִּלְפֹּ֨תvai.yil.PotH3943the twoשְׁנֵ֣י׀she.NeiH8147middleהַתָּ֗וֶךְha.Ta.vekhH8432pillarsעַמּוּדֵ֣י'a.mu.DeiH5982on whichאֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834the houseהַבַּ֙יִת֙ha.Ba.yitH1004restedנָכ֣וֹןna.KhonH3559,and bracedוַיִּסָּמֵ֖ךְvai.yi.sa.MekhH5564himself againstH5921them, the oneאֶחָ֥ד'e.ChadH259with his rightבִּימִינ֖וֹbi.mi.NoH3225handH3225and the otherוְאֶחָ֥דve.'e.ChadH259with his leftבִּשְׂמֹאלֽוֹ׃bis.mo.LoH8040.

30And Samsonשִׁמְשׁ֗וֹןshim.ShonH8123saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Letme dieתָּמ֣וֹתta.MotH4191with the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּים֒pe.lish.TimH6430!”And he pushedH5186outwardsH5186powerfullyבְּכֹ֔חַbe.Kho.achH3581,so that the houseהַבַּ֙יִת֙ha.Ba.yitH1004fellוַיִּפֹּ֤לvai.yi.PolH5307on the governorsהַסְּרָנִ֔יםha.se.ra.NimH5633and allכָּל־kol-H3605the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971whoאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834were in it. And the deadהַמֵּתִים֙ha.me.TimH4191whomאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834he killedהֵמִ֣יתhe.MitH4191at his deathבְּמוֹת֔וֹbe.mo.ToH4194were moreרַבִּ֕יםra.BimH7227thanH4480those whomמֵאֲשֶׁ֥רme.'a.SherH834he killedהֵמִ֖יתhe.MitH4191during his lifetimeH2425.

31Then his brothersאֶחָ֜יו'e.ChavH251and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605his father’sאָבִיהוּ֮'a.vi.HuH1householdבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004cameH3381downוַיֵּרְד֨וּvai.ye.re.DuH3381and tookוַיִּשְׂא֣וּvai.yis.'UH5375him, and broughtH5927him upH5927and buriedוַיִּקְבְּר֣וּvai.yik.be.RuH6912him betweenH996Zorahצָרְעָה֙tza.re.'AhH6881and Eshtaolאֶשְׁתָּאֹ֔ל'esh.ta.'OlH847in the tombבְּקֶ֖בֶרbe.Ke.verH6913of his fatherאָבִ֑יו'a.VivH1Manoahמָנ֣וֹחַma.No.achH4495.So he had judgedשָׁפַ֥טsha.FatH8199Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478for twentyעֶשְׂרִ֥ים'es.RimH6242yearsשָׁנָֽה׃ פsha.NahH8141.
