9Then the Philistinesפְלִשְׁתִּ֔יםfe.lish.TimH6430wentH5927upH5927and campedוַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּvai.ya.cha.NuH2583in Judahבִּיהוּדָ֑הbi.hu.DahH3063,and spreadH6566outH6566in Lehiבַּלֶּֽחִי׃ba.Le.chiH3896.

10So the menאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063saidוַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙vai.yo.me.RuH559, “Whyלָמָ֖הla.MahH4100have you comeעֲלִיתֶ֣ם'a.li.TemH5927upH5927againstעָלֵ֑ינוּ'a.Lei.nuH5921us?” And they saidוַיֹּאמְר֗וּvai.yo.me.RuH559, “We have comeעָלִ֔ינוּ'a.Li.nuH5927upH5927to bindלֶאֱס֤וֹרle.'e.SorH631Samsonשִׁמְשׁוֹן֙shim.shOnH8123in order to doלַעֲשׂ֣וֹתla.'a.SotH6213to him as he didעָ֥שָׂה'A.sahH6213to us.”

11Then threeשְׁלֹשֶׁת֩she.lo.ShetH7969thousandאֲלָפִ֨ים'a.la.FimH505menאִ֜ישׁ'ishH376of Judahמִֽיהוּדָ֗הmi.hu.DahH3063wentH3381downוַיֵּרְד֡וּvai.ye.re.DuH3381to the cleftסְעִיף֮se.'IfH5585of the rockסֶ֣לַעSe.la'H5553of Etamעֵיטָם֒'ei.TamH5862and saidוַיֹּאמְר֣וּvai.yo.me.RuH559to Samsonלְשִׁמְשׁ֗וֹןle.shim.ShonH8123, “Do you not knowיָדַ֙עְתָּ֙ya.Da'.taH3045that the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּ֔יםpe.lish.TimH6430are rulersמֹשְׁלִ֥יםmo.she.LimH4910over us? Whatוּמַה־u.mah-H4100then is thisH2088that you have doneעָשִׂ֣יתָ'a.Si.taH6213to us?” And he saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to them, “JustH3512asH3512they didעָ֣שׂוּ'A.suH6213to me, soכֵּ֖ןkenH3651I have doneעָשִׂ֥יתִי'a.Si.tiH6213to them.”

12Then they saidוַיֹּ֤אמְרוּvai.Yo.me.ruH559to him, “We have comeיָרַ֔דְנוּya.Rad.nuH3381downH3381to bindלֶאֱסָרְךָ֣le.'e.sa.re.KhaH631you so that we may handבְּיַד־be.yad-H5414 H3027you overH5414to the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּ֑יםpe.lish.TimH6430.”And Samsonשִׁמְשׁ֔וֹןshim.ShonH8123saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to them, “Swearהִשָּׁבְע֣וּhi.sha.ve.'UH7650to me that you will notkillתִּפְגְּע֥וּןtif.ge.'UnH6293me.”

13So they saidH559tohim, “NoH3808,but we will bindאָסֹ֤ר'a.SorH631you tightlyנֶֽאֱסָרְךָ֙ne.'e.sa.re.KhaH631and giveוּנְתַנּ֣וּךָu.ne.ta.Nu.khaH5414you into their handsבְיָדָ֔םve.ya.DamH3027;but we certainlyוְהָמֵ֖תve.ha.MetH4191will not killנְמִיתֶ֑ךָne.mi.Te.khaH4191you.” Then they boundוַיַּאַסְרֻ֗הוּvai.ya.'as.Ru.huH631him with twoבִּשְׁנַ֙יִם֙bish.Na.yimH8147newחֲדָשִׁ֔יםcha.da.ShimH2319ropesעֲבֹתִ֣ים'a.vo.TimH5688,and broughtH5927him upH5927from the rockהַסָּֽלַע׃ha.Sa.la'H5553.

14When he cameבָ֣אva'H935to Lehiלֶ֔חִיLe.chiH3896,the Philistinesוּפִלְשִׁתִּ֖יםu.fe.lish.TimH6430shoutedהֵרִ֣יעוּhe.Ri.'uH7321as they metלִקְרָאת֑וֹlik.ra.ToH7122him. Andthe Spiritר֣וּחַRu.achH7307of the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068rushedוַתִּצְלַ֨חva.titz.LachH6743uponH5921him so that the ropesהָעֲבֹתִ֜יםha.'a.vo.TimH5688that were on his armsזְרוֹעוֹתָ֗יוze.ro.'o.TavH2220were like flaxכַּפִּשְׁתִּים֙ka.pish.TimH6593that has burnedבָּעֲר֣וּba.'a.RuH1197with fireבָאֵ֔שׁva.'EshH784,and his restraintsאֱסוּרָ֖יו'e.su.RavH612droppedוַיִּמַּ֥סּוּvai.yim.Ma.suH4549from his handsיָדָֽיו׃ya.DavH3027.

15Then he foundוַיִּמְצָ֥אvai.yim.Tza'H4672a freshטְרִיָּ֑הte.ri.YahH2961jawboneלְחִֽי־le.chi-H3895of a donkeyחֲמ֖וֹרcha.MorH2543,so he reachedH7971outH7971with his handיָדוֹ֙ya.DoH3027and tookוַיִּקָּחֶ֔הָvai.yi.ka.Che.haH3947it, andkilledוַיַּךְ־vai.yakh-H5221a thousandאֶ֥לֶף'E.lefH505menאִֽישׁ׃'IshH376with it.

16And Samsonשִׁמְשׁ֔וֹןshim.ShonH8123saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “With the jawboneבִּלְחִ֣יbil.ChiH3895of a donkeyהַחֲמ֔וֹרha.cha.MorH2543,Heapsחֲמ֖וֹרcha.MorH2565upon heapsחֲמֹרָתָ֑יִםcha.mo.ra.Ta.yimH2565,With the jawboneבִּלְחִ֣יbil.ChiH3895of a donkeyהַחֲמ֔וֹרha.cha.MorH2543I havekilledהִכֵּ֖יתִיhi.Kei.tiH5221a thousandאֶ֥לֶף'E.lefH505menאִֽישׁ׃'IshH376.”

17When he had finishedכְּכַלֹּת֣וֹke.kha.lo.ToH3615speakingלְדַבֵּ֔רle.da.BerH1696,he threwוַיַּשְׁלֵ֥ךְvai.yash.LekhH7993the jawboneהַלְּחִ֖יha.le.ChiH3895from his handמִיָּד֑וֹmi.ya.DoH3027;and he namedוַיִּקְרָ֛אvai.yik.Ra'H7121that placeלַמָּק֥וֹםla.ma.KomH4725Ramath-lehiH7437.

18Then he becameH6770veryמְאֹד֒me.'OdH3966thirstyוַיִּצְמָא֮vai.yitz.Ma'H6770, and hecalledוַיִּקְרָ֤אvai.yik.Ra'H7121to the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068and saidוַיֹּאמַ֔רvai.yo.MarH559, “You havehandedבְיַֽד־ve.yad-H5414 H3027thisH2088greatהַגְּדֹלָ֖הha.ge.do.LahH1419victoryהַתְּשׁוּעָ֥הha.te.shu.'AhH8668overH5414to Your servantעַבְדְּךָ֔'av.de.KhaH5650,and nowוְעַתָּה֙ve.'a.TahH6258am I to dieאָמ֣וּת'a.MutH4191of thirstבַּצָּמָ֔אba.tza.Ma'H6772and fallוְנָפַלְתִּ֖יve.na.fal.TiH5307into the handsבְּיַ֥דbe.YadH3027of the uncircumcisedהָעֲרֵלִֽים׃ha.'a.re.LimH6189?”

19But Godאֱלֹהִ֜ים'E.lo.HimH430splitוַיִּבְקַ֨עvai.yiv.Ka'H1234the hollowH4388placeH4388that is in Lehiבַּלֶּ֔חִיba.Le.chiH3896so that waterמַ֙יִם֙ma.yimH4325cameH3318outH3318of it. When he drankוַיֵּ֔שְׁתְּvai.Ye.shetH8354, hisstrengthרוּח֖וֹru.ChoH7307returnedוַתָּ֥שָׁבva.Ta.shovH7725and he revivedוַיֶּ֑חִיvai.Ye.chiH2421.Thereforeעַל־ כֵּ֣ן׀'al- kenH5921 H3651he namedקָרָ֣א שְׁמָ֗הּka.Ra' she.MahH7121 H8034itEn-hakkoreH5875,whichH834is in LehiH3896to thisהַזֶּֽה׃ha.ZehH2088dayהַיּ֥וֹםhai.YomH3117.
