9Then the Philistinesפְלִשְׁתִּ֔יםfe.lish.TimH6430went upוַיַּעֲל֣וּvai.ya.'a.LuH5927,and pitchedוַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּvai.ya.cha.NuH2583in Judahבִּיהוּדָ֑הbi.hu.DahH3063,and spreadוַיִּנָּטְשׁ֖וּvai.yi.na.te.ShuH5203themselves in Lehiבַּלֶּֽחִי׃ba.Le.chiH3896.

10And the menאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063saidוַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙vai.yo.me.RuH559,Why are ye come upעֲלִיתֶ֣ם'a.li.TemH5927against us? And they answeredוַיֹּאמְר֗וּvai.yo.me.RuH559,To bindלֶאֱס֤וֹרle.'e.SorH631Samsonשִׁמְשׁוֹן֙shim.shOnH8123are we come upעָלִ֔ינוּ'a.Li.nuH5927,to doלַעֲשׂ֣וֹתla.'a.SotH6213to him as he hath doneעָ֥שָׂה'A.sahH6213to us.

11Then threeשְׁלֹשֶׁת֩she.lo.ShetH7969thousandאֲלָפִ֨ים'a.la.FimH505menאִ֜ישׁ'ishH376of Judahמִֽיהוּדָ֗הmi.hu.DahH3063wentוַיֵּרְד֡וּvai.ye.re.DuH3381to the topסְעִיף֮se.'IfH5585of the rockסֶ֣לַעSe.la'H5553Etamעֵיטָם֒'ei.TamH5862,and saidוַיֹּאמְר֣וּvai.yo.me.RuH559to Samsonלְשִׁמְשׁ֗וֹןle.shim.ShonH8123,Knowestיָדַ֙עְתָּ֙ya.Da'.taH3045thou not that the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּ֔יםpe.lish.TimH6430arerulersמֹשְׁלִ֥יםmo.she.LimH4910over us? what is this thatthou hast doneעָשִׂ֣יתָ'a.Si.taH6213unto us? And he saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto them, As they didעָ֣שׂוּ'A.suH6213unto me, so have I doneעָשִׂ֥יתִי'a.Si.tiH6213unto them.

12And they saidוַיֹּ֤אמְרוּvai.Yo.me.ruH559unto him, We are come downיָרַ֔דְנוּya.Rad.nuH3381to bindלֶאֱסָרְךָ֣le.'e.sa.re.KhaH631thee, that we may deliverלְתִתְּךָ֖le.ti.te.KhaH5414thee into the handבְּיַד־be.yad-H3027of the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּ֑יםpe.lish.TimH6430.And Samsonשִׁמְשׁ֔וֹןshim.ShonH8123saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto them, Swearהִשָּׁבְע֣וּhi.sha.ve.'UH7650unto me, that ye will not fall uponתִּפְגְּע֥וּןtif.ge.'UnH6293me yourselves.

13And they spakeוַיֹּ֧אמְרוּvai.Yo.me.ruH559unto him, sayingלֵאמֹ֗רle.MorH559,No; but we will bindאָסֹ֤ר'a.SorH631thee fastנֶֽאֱסָרְךָ֙ne.'e.sa.re.KhaH631,and deliverוּנְתַנּ֣וּךָu.ne.ta.Nu.khaH5414thee into their handבְיָדָ֔םve.ya.DamH3027:but surelyוְהָמֵ֖תve.ha.MetH4191we will not killנְמִיתֶ֑ךָne.mi.Te.khaH4191thee. And they boundוַיַּאַסְרֻ֗הוּvai.ya.'as.Ru.huH631him with twoבִּשְׁנַ֙יִם֙bish.Na.yimH8147newחֲדָשִׁ֔יםcha.da.ShimH2319cordsעֲבֹתִ֣ים'a.vo.TimH5688,and brought him upוַֽיַּעֲל֖וּהוּvai.ya.'a.Lu.huH5927from the rockהַסָּֽלַע׃ha.Sa.la'H5553.

14Andwhen he cameבָ֣אva'H935unto Lehiלֶ֔חִיLe.chiH3896,the Philistinesוּפִלְשִׁתִּ֖יםu.fe.lish.TimH6430shoutedהֵרִ֣יעוּhe.Ri.'uH7321againstH7125him: and the Spiritר֣וּחַRu.achH7307of the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068came mightilyוַתִּצְלַ֨חva.titz.LachH6743upon him, and the cordsהָעֲבֹתִ֜יםha.'a.vo.TimH5688that wereupon his armsזְרוֹעוֹתָ֗יוze.ro.'o.TavH2220became as flaxכַּפִּשְׁתִּים֙ka.pish.TimH6593that was burntבָּעֲר֣וּba.'a.RuH1197with fireבָאֵ֔שׁva.'EshH784,and his bandsאֱסוּרָ֖יו'e.su.RavH612loosedוַיִּמַּ֥סּוּvai.yim.Ma.suH4549from off his handsיָדָֽיו׃ya.DavH3027.

15And he foundוַיִּמְצָ֥אvai.yim.Tza'H4672a newטְרִיָּ֑הte.ri.YahH2961jawboneלְחִֽי־le.chi-H3895of an assחֲמ֖וֹרcha.MorH2543,and put forthוַיִּשְׁלַ֤חvai.yish.LachH7971his handיָדוֹ֙ya.DoH3027,and tookוַיִּקָּחֶ֔הָvai.yi.ka.Che.haH3947it, and slewוַיַּךְ־vai.yakh-H5221a thousandאֶ֥לֶף'E.lefH505menאִֽישׁ׃'IshH376therewith.

16And Samsonשִׁמְשׁ֔וֹןshim.ShonH8123saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,With the jawboneבִּלְחִ֣יbil.ChiH3895of an assהַחֲמ֔וֹרha.cha.MorH2543,heapsחֲמ֖וֹרcha.MorH2565upon heapsחֲמֹרָתָ֑יִםcha.mo.ra.Ta.yimH2565,with the jawבִּלְחִ֣יbil.ChiH3895of an assהַחֲמ֔וֹרha.cha.MorH2543have I slainהִכֵּ֖יתִיhi.Kei.tiH5221a thousandאֶ֥לֶף'E.lefH505menאִֽישׁ׃'IshH376.

17And it came to pass, when he had made an endכְּכַלֹּת֣וֹke.kha.lo.ToH3615of speakingלְדַבֵּ֔רle.da.BerH1696,that he cast awayוַיַּשְׁלֵ֥ךְvai.yash.LekhH7993the jawboneהַלְּחִ֖יha.le.ChiH3895out of his handמִיָּד֑וֹmi.ya.DoH3027,and calledוַיִּקְרָ֛אvai.yik.Ra'H7121that placeלַמָּק֥וֹםla.ma.KomH4725Ramath–lehiH7437.

18And he was soreמְאֹד֒me.'OdH3966athirstוַיִּצְמָא֮vai.yitz.Ma'H6770,and calledוַיִּקְרָ֤אvai.yik.Ra'H7121on the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068,and saidוַיֹּאמַ֔רvai.yo.MarH559,Thou hast givenנָתַ֣תָּna.Ta.taH5414this greatהַגְּדֹלָ֖הha.ge.do.LahH1419deliveranceהַתְּשׁוּעָ֥הha.te.shu.'AhH8668into the handבְיַֽד־ve.yad-H3027of thy servantעַבְדְּךָ֔'av.de.KhaH5650:and now shall I dieאָמ֣וּת'a.MutH4191for thirstבַּצָּמָ֔אba.tza.Ma'H6772,and fallוְנָפַלְתִּ֖יve.na.fal.TiH5307into the handבְּיַ֥דbe.YadH3027of the uncircumcisedהָעֲרֵלִֽים׃ha.'a.re.LimH6189?

19But Godאֱלֹהִ֜ים'E.lo.HimH430claveוַיִּבְקַ֨עvai.yiv.Ka'H1234an hollow placeהַמַּכְתֵּ֣שׁha.makh.TeshH4388that wasin the jawבַּלֶּ֗חִיba.Le.chiH3895,and there cameוַיֵּצְא֨וּvai.ye.tze.'UH3318waterמַ֙יִם֙ma.yimH4325thereout; and when he had drunkוַיֵּ֔שְׁתְּvai.Ye.shetH8354,his spiritרוּח֖וֹru.ChoH7307came againוַתָּ֥שָׁבva.Ta.shovH7725,and he revivedוַיֶּ֑חִיvai.Ye.chiH2421:wherefore he calledקָרָ֣אka.Ra'H7121the nameשְׁמָ֗הּshe.MahH8034thereof En–hakkoreH5875, which isin Lehiבַּלֶּ֔חִיba.Le.chiH3896unto this dayהַיּ֥וֹםhai.YomH3117.
