Numbers 12
The Murmuring of Miriam and Aaron
1Then MiriamH4813 and AaronH175 spokeH1696 against MosesH4872 becauseH5921H182 of the CushiteH3571 womanH802 whomH834 he had marriedH3947 (for he had marriedH3947 a 1CushiteH3571 womanH802); 22and they saidH559, “Has the LordH3068 indeedH389 spokenH1696 onlyH7534H389 through MosesH4872? Has He not spokenH1696 through us as wellH1571?” And the LordH3068 heardH8085 it. 3(Now the manH376 MosesH4872 was 3veryH3966 humbleH6035, moreH4480 thanH4480 anyH3605 manH120 whoH834 was on the faceH6440 of the earthH127.) 4SuddenlyH6597 the LordH3068 saidH559 to MosesH4872 and AaronH175 and to MiriamH4813, “You threeH7969 comeH3318 out to the tentH168 of meetingH4150.” So the threeH7969 of them cameH3318 out. 54Then the LordH3068 cameH3381 downH3381 in a pillarH5982 of cloudH6051 and stoodH5975 at the doorwayH6607 of the tentH168, and He calledH7121 5AaronH175 and MiriamH4813. When they had bothH8147 comeH3318 forwardH3318, 6He saidH559, “HearH8085 nowH4994 My wordsH1697: IfH518 there is a prophetH5030 among you, I, the LordH3068, shall makeH3045 Myself knownH3045 to him in a 6visionH4759. I shall speakH1696 with him in a 7dreamH2472.7Not soH3651, with 8My servantH5650 MosesH4872, 9He is faithfulH539 in allH3605 My householdH1004;810With him I speakH1696 mouthH6310 to mouthH6310, Even openlyH4758, and not in darkH2420 sayingsH2420, And he beholdsH5027 11the formH8544 of the LordH3068. WhyH4069 then were you not afraidH3372 To speakH1696 against My servantH5650, against MosesH4872?”
9So the angerH639 of the LordH3068 burnedH2734 against them and 12He departedH1980. 10But when the cloudH6051 had withdrawnH5493 from overH5921 the tentH168, beholdH2009, 13MiriamH4813 was leprousH6879, as 14white as snowH7950. As AaronH175 turnedH6437 towardH413 MiriamH4813, beholdH2009, she was leprousH6879. 11Then AaronH175 saidH559 to MosesH4872, “OhH994, my lordH113, I begH994 you, 15do not accountH7896 this sinH2403 to us, in whichH834 we have actedH2973 foolishlyH2973 and in whichH834 we have sinnedH2398. 12OhH4994, do not let her be like one deadH4191, whoseH834 fleshH1320 is halfH2677 eatenH398 away when he comesH3318 from his mother’sH517 wombH7358!” 13MosesH4872 criedH6817 out to the LordH3068, sayingH559, “O GodH410, 16healH7495 her, I prayH4994!” 14But the LordH3068 saidH559 to MosesH4872, “If her fatherH1 had but 17spitH3417 in her faceH6440, would she not bearH3637 her shameH3637 for sevenH7651 daysH3117? Let her be shutH5462 up for sevenH7651 daysH3117 18outsideH4480H2351 the campH4264, and afterwardH310 she may be receivedH622 again.” 15So 19MiriamH4813 was shutH5462 up outsideH4480H2351 the campH4264 for sevenH7651 daysH3117, and the peopleH5971 did not moveH5265 on untilH5704 MiriamH4813 was receivedH622 again.
16AfterwardH310, however, the peopleH5971 movedH5265 out from HazerothH2698 and campedH2583 in the wildernessH4057 of ParanH6290.
