Numbers 12

The Murmuring of Miriam and Aaron

1Then MiriamH4813 and AaronH175 spokeH1696 against MosesH4872 becauseH5921H182 of the CushiteH3571 womanH802 whomH834 he had marriedH3947 (for he had marriedH3947 a 1CushiteH3571 womanH802); 22and they saidH559, “Is it a factH389 that the LordH3068 has spokenH1696 onlyH7534 through MosesH4872? Has He not spokenH1696 through us asH1571 wellH1571?” And the LordH3068 heardH8085 this. 3(Now the manH376 MosesH4872 was 3veryH3966 humbleH6035, moreH4480 thanH4480 anyH3605 personH120 whoH834 was on the faceH6440 of the earthH127.) 4And the LordH3068 suddenlyH6597 saidH559 to MosesH4872 and to AaronH175 and MiriamH4813, “You threeH7969 goH3318 outH3318 to the tentH168 of meetingH4150.” So the threeH7969 of them wentH3318 outH3318. 54Then the LordH3068 cameH3381 downH3381 in a pillarH5982 of cloudH6051 and stoodH5975 at the entranceH6607 of the tentH168; and He calledH7121 AaronH175 and MiriamH4813. When they had bothH8147 comeH3318 forwardH3318, 6He saidH559, “NowH4994 hearH8085 My wordsH1697: IfH518 there is a prophetH5030 among you, I, the LordH3068, will makeH3045 Myself knownH3045 to him in a 5visionH4759. I will speakH1696 with him in a 6dreamH2472.7It is not thisH3651 wayH3651 for 7My servantH5650 MosesH4872; 8He is faithfulH539 in allH3605 My householdH1004;89With him I speakH1696 mouthH6310 to mouthH6310, That is, openlyH4758, and not 10using 11mysteriousH2420 languageH2420, And he beholdsH5027 12the formH8544 of the LordH3068. So whyH4069 wereH3372 you not afraidH3372 To speakH1696 against My servantH5650, against MosesH4872?”

9And the angerH639 of the LordH3068 burnedH2734 against them and 13He departedH1980. 10But when the cloudH6051 had withdrawnH5493 from aboveH5921 the tentH168, beholdH2009, 14MiriamH4813 was leprousH6879, as 15white as snowH7950. As AaronH175 turnedH6437 towardH413 MiriamH4813, beholdH2009, she was leprousH6879. 11Then AaronH175 saidH559 to MosesH4872, “OhH994, my lordH113, I begH994 you, 16do not 17holdH7896 us responsibleH5921 for this sinH2403 by whichH834 we have turnedH2973 outH2973 toH2973 beH2973 foolishH2973, and by whichH834 we have sinnedH2398. 12OhH4994, do not let her be like a deadH4191 personH4191, whoseH834 fleshH1320 is halfH2677 eatenH398 away when he comesH3318 outH3318 of his mother’sH517 wombH7358!” 13So MosesH4872 criedH6817 outH6817 to the LordH3068, sayingH559, “GodH410, 18healH7495 her, pleaseH4994!” 14But the LordH3068 saidH559 to MosesH4872, “If her fatherH1 had only 19spitH3417 in her faceH6440, would she not be putH3637 toH3637 shameH3637 for sevenH7651 daysH3117? Have her shutH5462 20outsideH4480H2351 the campH4264 for sevenH7651 daysH3117, and afterwardH310 she may be receivedH622 again.” 15So 21MiriamH4813 was shutH5462 outsideH4480H2351 the campH4264 for sevenH7651 daysH3117, and the peopleH5971 did not moveH5265 on untilH5704 MiriamH4813 was receivedH622 again.

16AfterwardH310, however, the peopleH5971 movedH5265 onH5265 from HazerothH2698 and campedH2583 in the wildernessH4057 of ParanH6290.
