Jeremiah 51:30-58
30The 1mightyH1368 menH1368 of BabylonH894 have ceasedH2308 fightingH3898, They stayH3427 in the strongholdsH4679; 2Their strengthH1369 is 3exhaustedH5405, They are becomingH1961 4like womenH802; Their dwellingH4908 placesH4908 are setH3341 on fireH3341, The 5barsH1280 of her gates are brokenH7665.31One 67courierH7323 runsH7323 to meetH7122 8anotherH7323, And one 910messengerH5046 to meetH7122 11anotherH5046, To tellH5046 the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 That his cityH5892 has been capturedH3920 from endH7097 to end;32The fordsH4569 also have been seizedH8610, And they have burnedH8313 the marshesH98 with fireH784, And the menH376 of warH4421 are terrifiedH926.
33For thusH3541 saysH559 the LordH3068 of hostsH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478: “The daughterH1323 of BabylonH894 is like a 12threshingH1637 floorH1637 At the timeH6256 13it is stampedH1869 firmH1869; YetH5750 in a littleH4592 whileH4592 the timeH6256 of 14harvestH7105 will comeH935 for her.”
34“NebuchadnezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894 has 15devouredH398 me and crushedH2000 me, He has setH3322 me downH3322 like an 16emptyH7386 vesselH3627; He has 17swallowedH1104 me like a monsterH8577, He has filledH4390 his stomachH3770 with my delicaciesH5730; He has washedH1740 me awayH1740.35May the 18violenceH2555 done to me and to my fleshH7607 be upon BabylonH894,” The 19inhabitantH3427 of ZionH6726 will sayH559; And, “May my bloodH1818 be upon the inhabitantsH3427 of ChaldeaH3778,” JerusalemH3389 will sayH559. 36ThereforeH3651 thusH3541 saysH559 the LordH3068, “BeholdH2009, I am going to 20pleadH7378 your caseH7379 And 21exactH5358 fullH5360 vengeanceH5360 for you; And 22I will dryH2717 up her 23seaH3220 And makeH3001 her fountainH4726 dryH3001.3724BabylonH894 will becomeH1961 a heapH1530 of ruins, a hauntH4583 of jackalsH8565, An 25objectH8047 of horrorH8047 and hissingH8322, withoutH369 inhabitantsH3427.38They will roarH7580 togetherH3164 like 26youngH3715 lionsH3715, They will growlH5286 like lions’H738 cubsH1484.39When they becomeH2552 heatedH2552 up, I will serveH7896 them their banquetH4960 And 27makeH7937 them drunkH7937, that they may becomeH5937 jubilantH5937 And may 28sleepH3462 a perpetualH5769 sleepH8142 And not wakeH3364 up,” declaresH5002 the LordH3068.40“I will bringH3381 them downH3381 like 29lambsH3733 30to the slaughterH2873, Like ramsH352 togetherH5973 with maleH6260 goatsH6260.
41“HowH349 3132SheshakH8347 has been capturedH3920, And 33the praiseH8416 of the wholeH3605 earthH776 been seizedH8610! HowH349 BabylonH894 has becomeH1961 an objectH8047 of horrorH8047 among the nationsH1471!42The 3435seaH3220 has comeH5927 up overH5921 BabylonH894; She has been engulfedH3680 with its tumultuousH1995 wavesH1530.43Her citiesH5892 have becomeH1961 an 36objectH8047 of horrorH8047, A parchedH6723 landH776 and a desertH6160, A landH776 in whichH2004 37noH3808H3605 manH376 livesH3427 And throughH5674 whichH2004 noH3808 sonH1121 of manH120 passesH5674.4438I will punishH6485 BelH1078 in BabylonH894, And I will make whatH1105 he has swallowedH1105 39comeH3318 out of his mouthH6310; And the nationsH1471 will noH3808 longerH5750 40streamH5102 to him. EvenH1571 the 41wallH2346 of BabylonH894 has fallenH5307 downH5307!
45“42ComeH3318 forthH3318 from her midstH8432, My peopleH5971, And eachH376 of you 43saveH4422 yourselvesH5315 From the fierceH2740 angerH639 of the LordH3068.46Now 44soH6435 that your heartH3824 does not growH7401 faintH7401, And you are not afraidH3372 at the 45reportH8052 that will be heardH8085 in the landH776-- For the reportH8052 will comeH935 46one yearH8141, And afterH310 that 47another reportH8052 in 48another yearH8141, And violenceH2555 will be in the landH776 With 49rulerH4910 againstH5921 rulerH4910--47ThereforeH3651 beholdH2009, daysH3117 are comingH935 When I will punishH6485 the 50idolsH6456 of BabylonH894; And her wholeH3605 landH776 will be 51putH954 to shameH954 And allH3605 her slainH2491 will fallH5307 in her midstH8432.48Then 52heavenH8064 and earthH776 and allH3605 that is in them Will shoutH7442 for joyH7442 overH5921 BabylonH894, For 53the destroyersH7703 will comeH935 to her from the northH6828,” DeclaresH5002 the LordH3068.
4954IndeedH1571 BabylonH894 is to fallH5307 for the slainH2491 of IsraelH3478, As alsoH1571 for BabylonH894 55the slainH2491 of allH3605 the earthH776 have fallenH5307.50You 56whoH6412 have escapedH6412 the swordH2719, DepartH1980! Do not stayH5975! 57RememberH2142 the LordH3068 from afarH7350, And let JerusalemH3389 58comeH5927 to your mindH3824.5159We are ashamedH954 becauseH3588 we have heardH8085 reproachH2781; DisgraceH3639 has coveredH3680 our facesH6440, For 60aliensH2114 have enteredH935 The holyH4720 placesH4720 of the Lord’sH3068 houseH1004.
52“ThereforeH3651 beholdH2009, the daysH3117 are comingH935,” declaresH5002 the LordH3068, “When I will punishH6485 her 61idolsH6456, And the mortallyH2491 woundedH2491 will groanH602 throughoutH3605 her landH776.53ThoughH3588 BabylonH894 should 62ascendH5927 to the heavensH8064, And thoughH3588 she should fortifyH1219 63her loftyH4791 strongholdH5797, From 64Me destroyersH7703 will comeH935 to her,” declaresH5002 the LordH3068.
54The 65soundH6963 of an outcryH2201 from BabylonH894, And of greatH1419 destructionH7667 from the landH776 of the ChaldeansH3778!55For the LordH3068 is going to destroyH7703 BabylonH894, And He will makeH6 her loudH1419 66noiseH6963 vanishH6 from her. And their 67wavesH1530 will roarH1993 like manyH7227 watersH4325; The tumultH7588 of their voicesH6963 68soundsH5414 forthH5414.56For the 69destroyerH7703 is comingH935 againstH5921 her, againstH5921 BabylonH894, And her mightyH1368 menH1368 will be capturedH3920, Their 70bowsH7198 are shatteredH2865; For the LordH3068 is a GodH410 of 71recompenseH1578, He will fullyH7999 repayH7999.57“I will 72makeH7937 her princesH8269 and her wiseH2450 menH2450 drunkH7937, Her governorsH6346, her prefectsH5461 and her mightyH1368 menH1368, That they may sleepH3462 a 73perpetualH5769 sleepH8142 and not wakeH3364 up,” 74DeclaresH5002 the KingH4428, whose nameH8034 is the LordH3068 of hostsH6635. 58ThusH3541 saysH559 the LordH3068 of hostsH6635, “The broadH7342 75wallH2346 of BabylonH894 will be completelyH6209 razedH6209 And her highH1364 76gatesH8179 will be setH3341 on fireH784; So the peoplesH5971 will 77toilH3021 for nothingH1767H7385, And the nationsH3816 becomeH3286 78exhaustedH3286 only for fireH784.”
