Jeremiah 48:26-35
26“1MakeH7937 him drunkH7937, for he has 2becomeH1431 3arrogantH1431 towardH5921 the LordH3068; so MoabH4124 will 4wallowH5606 in his vomitH7006, and he alsoH1571 will becomeH1961 a laughingstockH7814. 27Now was not IsraelH3478 a 5laughingstockH7814 to you? OrH518 was he 67caughtH4672 among thievesH1590? For eachH1767 timeH1767 you speakH1697 about him you 8shakeH5110 your head in scorn.28LeaveH5800 the citiesH5892 and dwellH7931 among the 9cragsH5553, O inhabitantsH3427 of MoabH4124, And be like a 10doveH3123 that nestsH7077 BeyondH5676 the mouthH6310 of the chasmH6354.2911We have heardH8085 of the prideH1347 of MoabH4124--he is veryH3966 proudH1343-- Of his haughtinessH7312, his 12prideH1347, his arroganceH1346 and 13his self-exaltationH3820H7312.30I knowH3045 his 14furyH5678,” declaresH5002 the LordH3068, “But it is futileH3808H3653; His idleH907 boastsH907 have accomplishedH6213 nothingH3808.31ThereforeH5921H3651 I will 15wailH3213 for MoabH4124, Even for allH3605 MoabH4124 will I cryH2199 out; 16I will moanH1897 for the menH376 of 17Kir-heresH7025.32MoreH4480 thanH4480 the 18weepingH1065 for 19JazerH3270 I will weepH1058 for you, O vineH1612 of SibmahH7643! Your tendrilsH5189 stretchedH5674 acrossH5674 the seaH3220, They reachedH5060 to the seaH3220 of JazerH3270; Upon your summerH7019 fruitsH7019 and your grapeH1210 harvestH1210 The destroyerH7703 has fallenH5307.33So 20gladnessH8057 and joyH1524 are takenH622 awayH622 From the fruitfulH3759 fieldH3759, even from the landH776 of MoabH4124. And I have made the wineH3196 to 21ceaseH7673 from the wineH3342 pressesH3342; NoH3808 one will treadH1869 them with shoutingH1959, The shoutingH1959 will not be shoutsH1959 of joy. 3422From the outcryH2201 at HeshbonH2809 even to 23ElealehH500, even to JahazH3096 they have 24raisedH5414 their voiceH6963, from 25ZoarH6820 even to HoronaimH2773 and to Eglath-shelishiyahH5700H7992; for evenH1571 the watersH4325 of NimrimH5249 will becomeH1961 desolateH4923. 35I will makeH7673 an endH7673 of MoabH4124,” declaresH5002 the LordH3068, “the one who offersH5927 sacrifice on the 26highH1116 placeH1116 and the one who 2728burnsH6999 incenseH6999 to his godsH430.
