20Then JeremiahH3414 saidH559 to allH3605 the peopleH5971, to the menH1397 and womenH802--even to allH3605 the peopleH5971 who were givingH6030 him such an answerH1697--sayingH559, 21“As for the 2324smokingH7002 sacrificesH7002 that you burnedH6999 in the citiesH5892 of JudahH3063 and in the 25streetsH2351 of JerusalemH3389, you and your forefathersH1, your kingsH4428 and your princesH8269, and the peopleH5971 of the landH776, did not the LordH3068 26rememberH2142 them and did not all this comeH5927 into His 27mindH3820? 22So the LordH3068 was 28noH3808 longerH5750 ableH3201 to endureH5375 it, 29becauseH4480H6440 of the evilH7455 of your deedsH4611, becauseH4480H6440 of the abominationsH8441 whichH834 you have committedH6213; thus your landH776 has becomeH1961 a 30ruinH2723, an objectH8047 of horrorH8047 and a curseH7045, withoutH369 an inhabitantH3427, as it is thisH2088 dayH3117. 23BecauseH4480H6440 you have burnedH6999 31sacrificesH6999 and have sinnedH2398 against the LordH3068 and 32not obeyedH8085 the voiceH6963 of the LordH3068 or 33walkedH1980 in His lawH8451, His statutesH2708 or His testimoniesH5715, thereforeH5921H3651 thisH2088 34calamityH7463 has befallenH7122 you, as it has thisH2088 dayH3117.”
