Jeremiah 25:9-18
beholdH2009, I will 1sendH7971 and takeH3947 allH3605 the familiesH4940 of the northH6828,’ declaresH5002 the LordH3068, ‘and I will send to NebuchadnezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894, 2My servantH5650, and will bringH935 them againstH5921 thisH2088 landH776 and againstH5921 its inhabitantsH3427 and againstH5921 allH3605 theseH428 nationsH1471 roundH5439 aboutH5439; and I will 3utterlyH2763 destroyH2763 them and 4makeH7760 them a horrorH8047 and a hissingH8322, and an everlastingH5769 desolationH2723. 10Moreover, I will 56takeH6 from them the voiceH6963 of joyH8342 and the voiceH6963 of gladnessH8057, the voiceH6963 of the bridegroomH2860 and the voiceH6963 of the brideH3618, the 7soundH6963 of the millstonesH7347 and the lightH216 of the lampH5216. 118ThisH2088 wholeH3605 landH776 will be a desolationH2723 and a horrorH8047, and theseH428 nationsH1471 will serveH5647 the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 9seventyH7657 yearsH8141.
‘Then it will be 10when seventyH7657 yearsH8141 are completedH4390 I will 11punishH6485 the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 and that nationH1471,’ declaresH5002 the LordH3068, ‘for their iniquityH5771, and the landH776 of the ChaldeansH3778; and 12I will makeH7760 it an everlastingH5769 desolationH8077. 13I will bringH935 upon that landH776 allH3605 My wordsH1697 whichH834 I have pronouncedH1696 againstH5921 it, allH3605 that is writtenH3789 in 13thisH2088 bookH5612 whichH834 JeremiahH3414 has prophesiedH5012 againstH5921 14allH3605 the nationsH1471. 14(15For 16manyH7227 nationsH1471 and greatH1419 kingsH4428 will makeH5647 slavesH5647 of them, evenH1571 them; and I will 17recompenseH7999 them according to their deedsH6467 and according to the workH4639 of their handsH3027.)’”
For thusH3541 the LordH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, saysH559 to me, “TakeH3947 thisH2088 18cupH3563 of the wineH3196 of wrathH2534 from My handH3027 and cause allH3605 the nationsH1471 to whomH834 I sendH7971 you to drinkH8248 it. 16They will 19drinkH8354 and staggerH1607 and goH1984 madH1984 becauseH4480H6440 of the swordH2719 that I will sendH7971 amongH996 them.”
Then I tookH3947 the cupH3563 from the Lord’sH3068 handH3027 and 20made allH3605 the nationsH1471 to whomH834 the LordH3068 sentH7971 me drinkH8248 it: 1821JerusalemH3389 and the citiesH5892 of JudahH3063 and its kingsH4428 and its princesH8269, to makeH5414 them a ruinH2723, a horrorH8047, a hissingH8322 and a curseH7045, as it is thisH2088 dayH3117;
