Jeremiah 13:9-17
9“ThusH3541 saysH559 the LordH3068, ‘JustH3602 soH3602 will I destroyH7843 the 1prideH1347 of JudahH3063 and the greatH7227 prideH1347 of JerusalemH3389. 10ThisH2088 wickedH7451 peopleH5971, whoH3987 2refuseH3987 to listenH8085 to My wordsH1697, who 3walkH1980 in the stubbornnessH8307 of their heartsH3820 and have goneH1980 afterH310 otherH312 godsH430 to serveH5647 them and to bowH7812 downH7812 to them, let them be just like thisH2088 waistbandH232 whichH834 is totallyH3605 worthlessH3808H6743. 11For as the waistbandH232 clingsH1692 to the waistH4975 of a manH376, soH3651 I made the wholeH3605 householdH1004 of IsraelH3478 and the wholeH3605 householdH1004 of JudahH3063 4clingH1692 to Me,’ declaresH5002 the LordH3068, ‘that they might be for Me a peopleH5971, for 56renownH8034, for 7praiseH8416 and for gloryH8597; but they 8did not listenH8085.’
12“Therefore you are to speakH559 thisH2088 wordH1697 to them, ‘ThusH3541 saysH559 the LordH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, “EveryH3605 jugH5035 is to be filledH4390 with wineH3196.”’ And when they sayH559 to you, ‘Do we not veryH3045 wellH3045 knowH3045 that everyH3605 jugH5035 is to be filledH4390 with wineH3196?’ 13then sayH559 to them, ‘ThusH3541 saysH559 the LordH3068, “BeholdH2009 I am about to fillH4390 allH3605 the inhabitantsH3427 of thisH2088 landH776--the kingsH4428 that sitH3427 for DavidH1732 on his throneH3678, the priestsH3548, the prophetsH5030 and allH3605 the inhabitantsH3427 of JerusalemH3389--with 9drunkennessH7943! 14I will 10dashH5310 them againstH413 eachH376 otherH251, both the 11fathersH1 and the sonsH1121 togetherH3164,” declaresH5002 the LordH3068. “I will 12not showH2550 pityH2550 norH3808 be sorryH2347 norH3808 haveH7355 compassionH7355 so as not to destroyH7843 them.”’”
15ListenH8085 and giveH238 heedH238, do not be 13haughtyH1361, For the LordH3068 has spokenH1696.1614GiveH5414 gloryH3519 to the LordH3068 your GodH430, BeforeH2962 He bringsH2821 15darknessH2821 And beforeH2962 your 16feetH7272 stumbleH5062 On the duskyH5399 mountainsH2022, And while you are hopingH6960 for lightH216 He makesH7760 it into 17deepH6757 darknessH6757, And turnsH7896 it into gloomH6205.17But 18ifH518 you will not listenH8085 to it, My soulH5315 will 19sobH1058 in secretH4565 for such prideH1466; And my eyesH5869 will bitterlyH1830 weepH1830 And flowH3381 downH3381 with tearsH1832, BecauseH3588 the 20flockH5739 of the LordH3068 has been takenH7617 captiveH7617.
