9Then Gedaliahגְּדַלְיָ֨הוּge.dal.Ya.huH1436the sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Ahikamאֲחִיקָ֤ם'a.chi.KamH296,the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Shaphanשָׁפָן֙sha.FanH8227,sworeוַיִּשָּׁבַ֨עvai.yi.sha.Va'H7650to them and to their menH376,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559, “Do not be afraidתִּֽירְא֖וּti.re.'UH3372of servingמֵעֲב֣וֹדme.'a.VodH5647the Chaldeansהַכַּשְׂדִּ֑יםha.kas.DimH3778;stayשְׁב֣וּshe.VuH3427in the landבָאָ֗רֶץva.'A.retzH776and serveוְעִבְד֛וּve.'iv.DuH5647the kingמֶ֥לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Babylonבָּבֶ֖לba.VelH894,that it may goוְיִיטַ֥בve.yi.TavH3190wellH3190with you.

10Now as for me, beholdH2009,I am going to stayיֹשֵׁב֙yo.ShevH3427at Mizpahבַּמִּצְפָּ֔הba.mitz.PahH4709tostandלַֽעֲמֹד֙la.'a.ModH5975for youbeforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440the Chaldeansהַכַּשְׂדִּ֔יםha.kas.DimH3778whoH834comeיָבֹ֖אוּya.Vo.'uH935to us; but as for you,gatherאִסְפוּ֩'is.FuH622in wineיַ֨יִןYa.yinH3196andsummerוְקַ֜יִץve.Ka.yitzH7019fruitH7019and oilוְשֶׁ֗מֶןve.She.menH8081and putוְשִׂ֙מוּ֙ve.Si.muH7760them in your storagevesselsבִּכְלֵיכֶ֔םbikh.lei.KhemH3627,and liveוּשְׁב֖וּu.she.VuH3427in your citiesבְּעָרֵיכֶ֥םbe.'a.rei.KhemH5892that you have takenH8610overH8610.”

16But Gedaliahגְּדַלְיָ֤הוּge.dal.Ya.huH1436the sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Ahikamאֲחִיקָם֙'a.chi.KamH296saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to JohananH3076the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Kareahקָרֵ֔חַka.Re.achH7143, “Do not doתַּעֲשֵׂ֖הta.'asH6213thisהַזֶּ֑הha.ZehH2088thingהַדָּבָ֣רha.da.VarH1697,for you are tellingדֹבֵ֖רdo.VerH1696a lieשֶׁ֛קֶרShe.kerH8267aboutH413Ishmaelיִשְׁמָעֵֽאל׃ סyish.ma.'ElH3458.”
