35Then let themgatherוְיִקְבְּצ֗וּve.yik.be.TzuH6908allכָּל־kol-H3605the foodH3978of theseהָאֵ֑לֶּהha.'E.lehH428goodהַטֹּבֹ֔תha.to.VotH2896yearsהַשָּׁנִ֣יםha.sha.NimH8141that are comingהַבָּאֹ֖תha.ba.'OtH935,and storeוְיִצְבְּרוּ־ve.yitz.be.ru-H6651up the grainבָ֞רvarH1250for foodH400in the citiesבֶּעָרִ֖יםbe.'a.RimH5892underתַּ֧חַתTa.chatH8478Pharaoh’sפַּרְעֹ֛הpar.'OhH6547authorityיַד־yad-H3027,and let them guardוְשָׁמָֽרוּ׃ve.sha.Ma.ruH8104it.

36Let the foodהָאֹ֤כֶלha.'O.khelH400becomeוְהָיָ֨הve.ha.YahH1961as a reserveלְפִקָּדוֹן֙le.fi.ka.dOnH6487for the landלָאָ֔רֶץla.'A.retzH776for the sevenלְשֶׁ֙בַע֙le.She.va'H7651yearsשְׁנֵ֣יshe.NeiH8141of famineהָרָעָ֔בha.ra.'AvH7458whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834will occurתִּהְיֶ֖יןָtih.Yei.naH1961in the landבְּאֶ֣רֶץbe.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָ֑יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714,so that the landהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776will not perishתִכָּרֵ֥תti.ka.RetH3772during the famineבָּרָעָֽב׃ba.ra.'AvH7458.”

37Now theproposalהַדָּבָ֖רha.da.VarH1697seemedH3190goodוַיִּיטַ֥בvai.yi.TavH3190to Pharaohפַרְעֹ֑הfar.'OhH6547andto allכָּל־kol-H3605his servantsעֲבָדָֽיו׃'a.va.DavH5650.

38Then Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֖הpar.'OhH6547saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to his servantsעֲבָדָ֑יו'a.va.DavH5650, “Can we findהֲנִמְצָ֣אha.nim.Tza'H4672a manאִ֕ישׁ'ishH376like thisכָזֶ֔הkha.ZehH2088,in whomאֲשֶׁ֛ר'a.SherH834is a divineאֱלֹהִ֖ים'E.lo.HimH430spiritר֥וּחַRu.achH7307?”

39So Pharaohפַּרְעֹה֙par.'OhH6547saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Josephיוֹסֵ֔ףyo.SefH3130, “Sinceאַחֲרֵ֨י'a.cha.ReiH310Godאֱלֹהִ֛ים'E.lo.HimH430has informedהוֹדִ֧יעַho.Di.a'H3045you of allכָּל־kol-H3605thisH2088,thereH369is noH369oneH369sodiscerningנָב֥וֹןna.VonH995and wiseוְחָכָ֖םve.cha.KhamH2450as you are.

40You shall be overעַל־'al-H5921my houseבֵּיתִ֔יbei.TiH1004,and accordingוְעַל־ve.'al-H5921to yourcommandפִּ֖יךָPi.khaH6310allכָּל־kol-H3605my peopleעַמִּ֑י'a.MiH5971shalldoH5401homageH5401;onlyH7534in the throneהַכִּסֵּ֖אha.ki.Se'H3678I will be greaterאֶגְדַּ֥ל'eg.DalH1431thanמִמֶּֽךָּ׃mi.Me.kaH4480you.”

41Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֖הpar.'OhH6547saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Josephיוֹסֵ֑ףyo.SefH3130, “Seeרְאֵה֙re.'EhH7200,I have setנָתַ֣תִּיna.Ta.tiH5414youoverעַ֖ל'alH5921allכָּל־kol-H3605the landאֶ֥רֶץ'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָֽיִם׃mitz.Ra.yimH4714.”

42Then Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֤הpar.'OhH6547tookH5493offH5493his signetH2885ringH2885from his handיָד֔וֹya.DoH3027and putוַיִּתֵּ֥ןvai.yi.TenH5414it on Joseph’sיוֹסֵ֑ףyo.SefH3130handיַ֣דyadH3027,and clothedוַיַּלְבֵּ֤שׁvai.yal.BeshH3847him in garmentsבִּגְדֵי־big.dei-H899of fineשֵׁ֔שׁSheshH8336linenH8336andputוַיָּ֛שֶׂםvai.Ya.semH7760the goldהַזָּהָ֖בha.za.HavH2091necklaceרְבִ֥דre.VidH7242aroundH5921his neckצַוָּארֽוֹ׃tza.va.RoH6677.

43He had him rideוַיַּרְכֵּ֣בvai.yar.KevH7392inhis secondהַמִּשְׁנֶה֙ha.mish.NehH4932chariotבְּמִרְכֶּ֤בֶתbe.mir.Ke.vetH4818;and they proclaimedוַיִּקְרְא֥וּvai.yik.re.'UH7121beforeלְפָנָ֖יוle.fa.NavH6440him, “BowH86the kneeH86!”And he setוְנָת֣וֹןve.na.TonH5414him overעַ֖ל'alH5921allכָּל־kol-H3605the landאֶ֥רֶץ'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָֽיִם׃mitz.Ra.yimH4714.

44Moreover, Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֛הpar.'OhH6547saidוַיֹּ֧אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Josephיוֹסֵ֖ףyo.SefH3130, “ThoughI am Pharaohפַרְעֹ֑הfar.'OhH6547, yetwithoutוּבִלְעָדֶ֗יךָu.vil.'a.Dei.khaH1107your permission noלֹֽא־lo'-H3808oneאִ֧ישׁ'ishH376shall raiseיָרִ֨יםya.RimH7311his handיָד֛וֹya.DoH3027or footרַגְל֖וֹrag.LoH7272in allבְּכָל־be.kholH3605the landאֶ֥רֶץ'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָֽיִם׃mitz.Ra.yimH4714.”

45Then Pharaohפַרְעֹ֣הfar.'OhH6547namedוַיִּקְרָ֨א שֵׁם־vai.yik.Ra' shem-H7121 H8034Josephיוֹסֵף֮yo.SefH3130Zaphenath-paneahH6847;and he gaveוַיִּתֶּן־vai.yi.ten-H5414him Asenathאָֽסְנַ֗ת'a.se.NatH621,the daughterבַּת־bat-H1323of PotipheraH6319priestכֹּהֵ֥ןko.HenH3548ofOnאֹ֖ן'onH204,as his wifeלְאִשָּׁ֑הle.'i.ShahH802.And Josephיוֹסֵ֖ףyo.SefH3130wentH3318forthH3318overעַל־'al-H5921the landאֶ֥רֶץ'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָֽיִם׃mitz.Ra.yimH4714.

47During the sevenבְּשֶׁ֖בַעbe.She.va'H7651yearsשְׁנֵ֣יshe.NeiH8141of plentyהַשָּׂבָ֑עha.sa.Va'H7647the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776broughtH6213forthH6213abundantlyלִקְמָצִֽים׃lik.ma.TzimH7062.

48So he gatheredוַיִּקְבֹּ֞ץvai.yik.BotzH6908allכָּל־kol-H3605the foodאֹ֣כֶל׀'O.khelH400of thesesevenשֶׁ֣בַעShe.va'H7651yearsשָׁנִ֗יםsha.NimH8141whichH834occurredהָיוּ֙ha.YuH1961in the landבְּאֶ֣רֶץbe.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרַ֔יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714and placedוַיִּתֶּן־vai.yi.ten-H5414the foodאֹ֖כֶל'O.khelH400in the citiesבֶּעָרִ֑יםbe.'a.RimH5892;he placedנָתַ֥ןna.TanH5414in every cityהָעִ֛ירha.'IrH5892the foodאֹ֧כֶל'O.khelH400from its own surroundingסְבִיבֹתֶ֖יהָse.vi.vo.Tei.haH5439fieldsשְׂדֵה־se.deh-H7704.

49Thus Josephיוֹסֵ֥ףyo.SefH3130storedוַיִּצְבֹּ֨רvai.yitz.BorH6651up grainבָּ֛רbarH1250in greatH3966abundanceH3966like the sandכְּח֥וֹלke.CholH2344of the seaהַיָּ֖םhai.YamH3220,untilעַ֛ד'adH5704 H3588he stoppedחָדַ֥לcha.DalH2308measuringלִסְפֹּ֖רlis.PorH5608it, for it wasbeyondאֵ֥ין'einH369measureמִסְפָּֽר׃mis.ParH4557.

50Now beforeבְּטֶ֥רֶםbe.Te.remH2962the yearשְׁנַ֣תshe.NatH8141of famineהָרָעָ֑בha.ra.'AvH7458cameתָּב֖וֹאta.Vo'H935,twoשְׁנֵ֣יshe.NeiH8147sonsבָנִ֔יםva.NimH1121were bornיֻלַּד֙yu.LadH3205to Josephוּלְיוֹסֵ֤ףu.le.yo.SefH3130,whomאֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834Asenathאָֽסְנַ֔ת'a.se.NatH621,the daughterבַּת־bat-H1323of PotipheraH6319priestכֹּהֵ֥ןko.HenH3548ofOnאֽוֹן׃'onH204,boreיָֽלְדָה־Yal.dah-H3205to him.

55So when allכָּל־kol-H3605the landאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרַ֔יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714was famishedוַתִּרְעַב֙va.tir.'AvH7456,the peopleהָעָ֛םha.'AmH5971criedוַיִּצְעַ֥קvai.yitz.'AkH6817out to Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֖הpar.'OhH6547for breadלַלָּ֑חֶםla.La.chemH3899;and Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֤הpar.'OhH6547saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to allלְכָל־le.kholH3605the EgyptiansH4714, “Goלְכ֣וּle.KhuH1980to Josephיוֹסֵ֔ףyo.SefH3130;whateverאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834he saysיֹאמַ֥רyo.MarH559to you, you shall doתַּעֲשֽׂוּ׃ta.'a.SuH6213.”
