17Then to Adamוּלְאָדָ֣םul.'a.DamH121He saidאָמַ֗ר'a.MarH559, “Becauseכִּֽי־ki-H3588you have listenedשָׁמַעְתָּ֮sha.ma'.TaH8085to the voiceלְק֣וֹלle.KolH6963of your wifeאִשְׁתֶּךָ֒'ish.te.KhaH802,and have eatenוַתֹּ֙אכַל֙va.To.khalH398from the treeהָעֵ֔ץha.'EtzH6086about whichאֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834I commandedצִוִּיתִ֙יךָ֙tzi.vi.Ti.khaH6680you, sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559, ‘You shall not eatתֹאכַ֖לto.KhalH398from it’;Cursedאֲרוּרָ֤ה'a.ru.RahH779is the groundהָֽאֲדָמָה֙ha.'a.da.MahH127becauseבַּֽעֲבוּרֶ֔ךָba.'a.vu.Re.khaH5668of you; Intoilבְּעִצָּבוֹן֙be.'i.tza.VonH6093you will eatתֹּֽאכֲלֶ֔נָּהto.kha.Le.nahH398of itAllכֹּ֖לkolH3605the daysיְמֵ֥יye.MeiH3117of your lifeH2425.

18Both thornsוְק֥וֹץve.KotzH6975and thistlesוְדַרְדַּ֖רve.dar.DarH1863it shall growתַּצְמִ֣יחַֽtatz.Mi.achH6779for you;And you will eatוְאָכַלְתָּ֖ve.'a.khal.TaH398theplantsעֵ֥שֶׂב'E.sevH6212of the fieldהַשָּׂדֶֽה׃ha.sa.DehH7704;

19By the sweatבְּזֵעַ֤תbe.ze.'AtH2188of your faceאַפֶּ֙יךָ֙'a.Pei.khaH639You will eatתֹּ֣אכַלTo.khalH398breadלֶ֔חֶםLe.chemH3899,Tillעַ֤ד'adH5704youreturnשֽׁוּבְךָ֙shu.ve.KhaH7725to the groundהָ֣אֲדָמָ֔הha.'a.da.MahH127,BecauseH3588from it you were takenלֻקָּ֑חְתָּlu.Ka.che.taH3947;For you are dustעָפָ֣רa.FarH6083,And to dustעָפָ֖ר'a.FarH6083you shall returnתָּשֽׁוּב׃ta.ShuvH7725.”

20Now the manהָֽאָדָ֛םha.'a.DamH120calledוַיִּקְרָ֧אvai.yik.Ra'H7121his wife’sאִשְׁתּ֖וֹ'ish.ToH802nameשֵׁ֥םshemH8034Eveחַוָּ֑הcha.VahH2332,becauseכִּ֛יkiH3588she was the motherאֵ֥ם'emH517of allכָּל־kol-H3605thelivingחָֽי׃ChaiH2416.

21The Lordיְהוָ֨הYah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהִ֜ים'E.lo.HimH430madeוַיַּעַשׂ֩vai.ya.'AsH6213garmentsכָּתְנ֥וֹתka.te.NotH3801of skinע֖וֹרorH5785for Adamלְאָדָ֧םle.'a.DamH121and his wifeוּלְאִשְׁתּ֛וֹul.'ish.ToH802,and clothedוַיַּלְבִּשֵֽׁם׃ פvai.yal.bi.ShemH3847them.

22Then the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהִ֗ים'E.lo.HimH430saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶר׀vai.Yo.merH559, “Beholdהֵ֤ןhenH2005,the manהָֽאָדָם֙ha.'a.DamH120has becomeהָיָה֙ha.YahH1961like oneכְּאַחַ֣דke.'a.ChadH259ofUs, knowingלָדַ֖עַתla.Da.'atH3045goodט֣וֹבTovH2896and evilוָרָ֑עva.Ra'H7451;and nowוְעַתָּ֣ה׀ve.'a.TahH6258,he mightפֶּן־pen-H6435stretchיִשְׁלַ֣חyish.LachH7971out his handיָד֗וֹya.DoH3027,and takeוְלָקַח֙ve.la.KachH3947alsoגַּ֚םgamH1571fromthe treeמֵעֵ֣ץme.'EtzH6086of lifeH2425,and eatוְאָכַ֖לve.'a.KhalH398,and liveוָחַ֥יva.ChaiH2421foreverלְעֹלָֽם׃le.'o.LamH5769”--
