Darby Bible
Song of Songs 8:1-8
Oh that thou wert as my brotherH251, That sucked the breastsH7699 of my motherH517! Should I findH4672 thee without, I would kiss thee; And they would not despiseH936 me.
I would lead thee, bringH935 thee into my mother's houseH1004; Thou wouldest instruct me: I would cause thee to drinkH8248 of spiced wineH3196, Of the juice of my pomegranateH7416.
His left handH3225 would be under my headH7218, And his rightH3225 handH3225 embraceH2263 me.
I charge you, daughtersH1323 of JerusalemH3389, ...WhyH4100 should ye stirH5782 up, whyH4100 awakeH5782 [my] loveH160, till he please?
Who is this that cometh up from the wildernessH4057, Leaning upon her beloved? I awoke thee under the apple-tree: There thy motherH517 broughtH5927 thee forthH3205; There she broughtH5927 thee forthH3205 [that] boreH3205 thee.
SetH7760 me as a sealH2368 upon thy heartH3820, As a sealH2368 upon thine armH2220: For loveH160 is strongH5794 as deathH4194; JealousyH7068 is cruel as SheolH7585: The flashesH7565 thereof are flashesH7565 of fireH784, Flames of Jah.
ManyH7227 watersH4325 cannot quenchH3518 loveH160, Neither do the floods drown it: Even if a manH376 gaveH5414 all the substance of his houseH1004 for loveH160, It would utterly be contemned.
We have a littleH6996 sisterH269, And she hath no breastsH7699: What shall we do for our sisterH269 In the dayH3117 when she shall be spokenH1696 for? —
