Lamentations 2:13-17
What shall I take to witness for thee? what shall I likenH1819 unto thee, daughterH1323 of JerusalemH3389? What shall I equal to thee, that I may comfortH5162 thee, virginH1330 daughterH1323 of ZionH6726? For thy ruinH7667 is greatH1419 as the seaH3220: who will healH7495 thee?
Thy prophetsH5030 have seenH2372 vanityH7723 and folly for thee; and they have not revealedH1540 thine iniquityH5771, to turnH7725 awayH7725 thy captivityH7622; but have seenH2372 for thee burdens of falsehoodH7723 and causes of expulsion.
All that passH5674 by clapH5606 [their] handsH3709 at thee; they hissH8319 and shakeH5128 their headH7218 at the daughterH1323 of JerusalemH3389: Is this the cityH5892 which they called, The perfection of beautyH3308, The joyH4885 of the whole earthH776?
All thine enemiesH341 openH6475 their mouthH6310 against thee, they hissH8319 and gnashH2786 the teethH8127: they sayH559, We have swallowedH1104 [her] up; this is forsooth the dayH3117 that we lookedH7200 for: we have foundH4672, we have seenH7200 [it].
Jehovah hath done what he had devised; he hath fulfilled his wordH565 which he had commandedH6680 from the daysH3117 of old: he hath thrown downH2040, and hath not sparedH2550, and he hath caused the enemyH341 to rejoiceH8055 over thee; he hath set up the hornH7161 of thine adversaries.
