Lamentations 5
Darby Bible
1RememberH2142, O Jehovah, what is come upon us; considerH7200, and seeH7200 our reproachH2781. 2Our inheritanceH5159 is turnedH2015 to strangersH2114, our housesH1004 to aliensH5237. 3We are orphans and fatherlessH3490, our mothersH517 are as widowsH490. 4Our waterH4325 have we to drinkH8354 for moneyH3701, our woodH6086 cometh unto us for a price. 5Our pursuersH7291 are on our necksH6677: we are wearyH3021, we have no restH5117. 6We have givenH5414 the handH3027 to EgyptH4713, [and] to AsshurH804, to be satisfiedH7646 with breadH3899. 7Our fathersH1 have sinnedH2398, [and] they are not; and we bear their iniquitiesH5771. 8Bondmen ruleH4910 over us: there is no deliverer out of their handH3027. 9We have to get our breadH3899 at the risk of our livesH5315, because of the swordH2719 of the wildernessH4057. 10Our skinH5785 gloweth like an ovenH8574, because of the burningH2152 heatH2152 of the famineH7458. 11They have ravished the womenH802 in ZionH6726, the maids in the citiesH5892 of JudahH3063. 12PrincesH8269 were hangedH8518 up by their handH3027; the facesH6440 of eldersH2205 were not honoured. 13The youngH5288 menH5288 have borneH5375 the mill, and the youthsH5288 have stumbledH3782 under the woodH6086. 14The eldersH2205 have ceased from the gateH8179, the youngH970 menH970 from their music. 15The joyH4885 of our heartH3820 hath ceased; our dance is turnedH2015 into mourningH60. 16The crownH5850 is fallenH5307 from our headH7218: woeH188 unto us, for we have sinnedH2398! 17For this our heartH3820 is faintH1739; for these thingsH428 our eyesH5869 have grown dimH2821, 18Because of the mountainH2022 of ZionH6726, which is desolateH8074: foxesH7776 walkH1980 over it. 19Thou, Jehovah, dwellest for everH5769; thy throneH3678 is from generationH1755 to generationH1755. 20Wherefore dost thou forgetH7911 us for ever, dost thou forsakeH5800 us so long time? 21TurnH7725 thou us unto thee, Jehovah, and we shall be turnedH7725; renewH2318 our daysH3117 as of old. 22Or is it that thou hast utterly rejectedH3988 us? Wouldest thou be exceeding wroth against us?
