Jonah 3
Darby Bible
1And the wordH1697 of Jehovah came unto JonahH3124 the secondH8145 timeH8145, sayingH559, 2AriseH6965, go to NinevehH5210, the greatH1419 cityH5892, and preach unto it the preaching that I shall bid thee. 3And JonahH3124 aroseH6965, and went unto NinevehH5210, according to the wordH1697 of Jehovah. Now NinevehH5210 wasH1961 an exceeding greatH1419 cityH5892 of threeH7969 days' journeyH4109. 4And JonahH3124 beganH2490 to enter into the cityH5892 a day's journeyH4109, and he cried and saidH559, YetH5750 fortyH705 daysH3117, and NinevehH5210 shall be overthrown! 5And the menH376 of NinevehH5210 believedH539 1GodH430, and proclaimedH7121 a fastH6685, and putH3847 on sackclothH8242, from the greatestH1419 of them even to the least of them. 6And the wordH1697 reachedH5060 the kingH4428 of NinevehH5210, and he aroseH6965 from his throneH3678, and laid his robe from him, and coveredH3680 himself with sackclothH8242, and satH3427 in ashesH665. 7And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through NinevehH5210 by the decree of the kingH4428 and his nobles, sayingH559, Let neither manH120 nor beast, herdH1241 nor flockH6629, tasteH2938 anythingH3972: let them not feedH7462, nor drinkH8354 waterH4325; 8and let manH376 and beast be coveredH3680 with sackclothH8242, and cry mightily unto 2GodH430; and let them turnH7725 every oneH376 from his evilH7451 wayH1870, and from the violenceH2555 that is in their handsH3709. 9Who knoweth but that 3GodH430 will turnH7725 and repent, and will turnH7725 awayH7725 from his fierce angerH639, that we perishH6 not? 10And 4GodH430 sawH7200 their worksH4639, that they turnedH7725 from their evilH7451 wayH1870; and 5GodH430 repentedH5162 of the evilH7451 that he had saidH1696 he would do unto them, and he did [it] not.
