Amos 2:6-16
6ThusH3541 saith Jehovah: For threeH7969 transgressionsH6588 of IsraelH3478, and for fourH702, I will not revokeH7725 its sentence; because they have soldH4376 the righteousH6662 for silverH3701, and the needyH34 for a pair of shoes; 7panting after the dustH6083 of the earthH776 on the headH7218 of the poorH1800, and turningH5186 asideH5186 the wayH1870 of the meek; and a manH376 and his fatherH1 will go in unto the [same] maid, to profaneH2490 my holyH6944 nameH8034. 8And they lay [themselves] downH5186 by every altarH4196 upon clothesH899 taken in pledge, and they drinkH8354 [in] the houseH1004 of their 1GodH430 the wineH3196 of the condemned. 9But I destroyedH8045 the AmoriteH567 before them, whose heightH1363 was as the heightH1363 of the cedarsH730, and he was strongH2634 as the oaksH437; but I destroyedH8045 his fruitH6529 from above, and his rootsH8328 from beneath. 10And I broughtH5927 you up from the landH776 of EgyptH4714, and led you fortyH705 yearsH8141 in the wildernessH4057, to possessH3423 the landH776 of the AmoriteH567. 11And I raisedH6965 up of your sonsH1121 for prophetsH5030, and of your youngH1121 menH970 for Nazarites. Is it not evenH637 thus, ye children of IsraelH3478? saith Jehovah. 12And ye gave the Nazarites wineH3196 to drinkH8248; and commandedH6680 the prophetsH5030, sayingH559, ProphesyH5012 not. 13Behold, I will press upon you, as a cartH5699 presseth that is fullH4395 of sheaves. 14And flight shall perishH6 from the swiftH7031, and the strongH2389 shall not strengthenH553 his force, neither shall the mightyH1368 deliverH4422 his soulH5315. 15Neither shall he standH5975 that handleth the bowH7198; and the swiftH7031 of footH7272 shall not escapeH4422, and he that rideth the horseH5483 shall not deliverH4422 his soulH5315; 16and he that is stout-hearted among the mightyH1368 shall fleeH5127 away nakedH6174 in that dayH3117, saith Jehovah.
