21When Davidדָוִ֗דda.VidH1732cameוַיָּבֹ֣אvai.ya.Vo'H935toאֶל־'el-H413the two hundredמָאתַ֨יִםma.Ta.yimH3967menהָאֲנָשִׁ֜יםha.'a.na.ShimH582whoאֲשֶֽׁר־'a.Sher-H834had been too exhaustedפִּגְּר֣וּ׀pi.ge.RuH6296to followמִלֶּ֣כֶת׀mi.Le.khetH1980אַחֲרֵ֣י'a.cha.ReiH310himדָוִ֗דda.VidH1732and who were left behindוַיֹּֽשִׁיבֻם֙vai.yo.shi.VumH3427at the Brookבְּנַ֣חַלbe.Na.chalH5158of Besorהַבְּשׂ֔וֹרha.be.SorH1308,they came outוַיֵּֽצְאוּ֙vai.ye.tze.'UH3318to meetלִקְרַ֣אתlik.RatH7122himדָּוִ֔דda.VidH1732andוְלִקְרַ֖אתve.lik.RatH7122the troopsהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971אֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834with himאִתּ֑וֹ'i.ToH854.As Davidדָּוִד֙da.VidH1732אֶת־'et-H853approachedוַיִּגַּ֤שׁvai.yi.GashH5066the menהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971,he greeted themוַיִּשְׁאַ֥ל לְשָׁלֽוֹם׃ סvai.yish.'Al le.sha.LomH7592 H7965,

22butוַיַּ֜עַןvai.Ya.'anH6030allכָּל־kol-H3605the wickedרָ֣עra'H7451and worthlessוּבְלִיַּ֗עַלu.ve.li.Ya.'alH1100menאִֽישׁ־'ish-H376among thoseמֵֽהָאֲנָשִׁים֮me.ha.'a.na.ShimH582whoאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834had goneהָלְכ֣וּha.le.KhuH1980withעִם־'im-H5973Davidדָּוִד֒da.VidH1732saidוַיֹּאמְר֗וּvai.yo.me.RuH559, “Becauseיַ֚עַןYa.'anH3282אֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834they did notלֹֽא־lo'-H3808goהָלְכ֣וּha.le.KhuH1980with usעִמִּ֔י'i.MiH5973,we will notלֹֽא־lo'-H3808share with themנִתֵּ֣ןni.TenH5414the plunderמֵהַשָּׁלָ֖לme.ha.sha.LalH7998אֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834we recoveredהִצַּ֑לְנוּhi.Tzal.nuH5337,exceptכִּֽי־ אִם־ki- 'im-H3588 H518for eachאִ֤ישׁ'ishH376אֶת־'et-H853man’s wifeאִשְׁתּוֹ֙'ish.ToH802וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853and childrenבָּנָ֔יוba.NavH1121.They may take themוְיִנְהֲג֖וּve.yin.ha.GuH5090and goוְיֵלֵֽכוּ׃ סve.ye.Le.khuH1980.”

23But Davidדָּוִ֔דda.VidH1732saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “My brothersאֶחָ֑י'e.ChaiH251אֵ֠ת'etH853,you must notלֹֽא־lo'-H3808doתַעֲשׂ֥וּta.'a.SuH6213thisכֵ֖ןkhenH3651with whatאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834the LORDיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068has givenנָתַ֨ןna.TanH5414us.He has protectedוַיִּשְׁמֹ֣רvai.yish.MorH8104usאֹתָ֔נוּ'o.Ta.nuH853and deliveredוַיִּתֵּ֗ןvai.yi.TenH5414אֶֽת־'et-H853into our handsבְּיָדֵֽנוּ׃be.ya.De.nuH3027the raidersהַגְּד֛וּדha.ge.DudH1416who cameהַבָּ֥אha.Ba'H935against usעָלֵ֖ינוּ'a.Lei.nuH5921.

24Whoוּמִי֙u.MiH4310will listenיִשְׁמַ֣עyish.Ma'H8085to yourproposalלַדָּבָ֖ר הַזֶּ֑ה כִּ֞יla.da.Var ha.Zeh kiH1697 H2088 H3588?The shareכְּחֵ֣לֶק׀ke.Che.lekH2506of the one who wentהַיֹּרֵ֣דhai.yo.RedH3381to battleבַּמִּלְחָמָ֗הba.mil.cha.MahH4421will match the shareוּֽכְחֵ֛לֶקu.khe.Che.lekH2506of the one who stayedהַיֹּשֵׁ֥בhai.yo.ShevH3427withעַל־'al-H5921the suppliesהַכֵּלִ֖יםha.ke.LimH3627.They will shareיַחֲלֹֽקוּ׃ סya.cha.Lo.kuH2505alikeיַחְדָּ֥וyach.DavH3162.”
